Petit SwansDoors ...
This cosy little two-room apartment right in the centre of Annecy is a great find for a couple looking for a comfortable place to stay in this fabulous medieval town.

So if you are coming in a larger group up to ten people, you could consider booking the two together, since Petit SwansDoors also provides the possibility to sleep 2 extra people on the sofa bed.
Tucked away off a quiet road, it's in a great location for visiting the Palais de l'Ile, the castle, or the stunning lake. It's also just a few steps away from great restaurants and shops. And when you return at the end of a busy day, you can sit out on the balcony, enjoy a meal or just take in the sights and sounds of the fascinating town.
You don't need a car when you stay at Le SwansDoors - everything you could need is right on your doorstep - but parking is available nearby. If you'd prefer to explore by bike (there's a wonderful cycle trail around the lake) there's a secure storage room at the apartment.
Pick up delicious cheese, chocolates and other local produce at the markets, which take place three times a week, rummage through dusty antique and book shops, browse in the art galleries, or just explore the cobbled streets and canals that criss-cross this Venice of the Alps. There's also a popular flea market, on the last Saturday of the month, which is well worth a visit.
Annecy is just four hours from Paris by train, and less than 30 minutes from Geneva airport, so it’s perfect for a short break, but if you can stay longer, make time to explore the lakeside villages and the mountains that surround them.
About the property ...
Take the 34 steps which lead up to the private entrance to this quiet one-bedroom, one bathroom apartment.
You'll find a bright, beamed living room with a comfortable sofa and chair, and a television. A door leads on to the balcony, which overlooks the courtyard and the street. There's room for two people to eat out here, or just enjoy your morning coffee as the town wakes up. The sofa converts into a bed that can accommodate another adult or two children, if necessary.
The kitchen is compact but well-equipped, with an oven, hob and everything you'll need to make a delicious meal, as well as a washing machine and dishwasher. There's also a dining area. Beyond that is the stylish shower room with WC and the double bedroom.
The apartment has been beautifully decorated in a simple, contemporary style which reflects Annecy's mountain location.
About the area ...
There is plenty to discover all year round in this beautiful medieval city, but Annecy’s Alpine location also puts it at the heart of five ski resorts.
The intimate resort of Semnoz is just 28 minutes away, and it's just a little further to the Aravis resorts of La Clusaz (45 minutes away), Le Grand Bornand (43 minutes away) and Manigod (39 minutes by car). In the Aravis, 220km of pistes offer challenges for skiers of all abilities, and there is plenty of scope for cross-country skiers and snowshoe walkers. The small resort of Sambuy Seythenex is also 45 minutes away - try out the luge, the sledge piste as well as some exhilarating unpisted runs.
At the end of a day in the mountains, enjoy an evening in one of the many bars or restaurants in this medieval town - apres-ski doesn’t come much better than this!
In December, the whole town gets the festive spirit, with fairy lights, Christmas markets, concerts and an open-air ice rink. The weekend following Shrove Tuesday, Annecy plays host to a Venetian carnival, when hundreds of masked and costumed figures parade around the cobbled streets.
In the summer, Annecy has something for everyone - a romantic city steeped in history, fine dining, boutique shopping, watersports, mountain activities and picturesque villages to explore. Watch the world go by over a coffee in a street cafe, take a cruise on the lake, or pick up some local specialities at the Sunday food market.
If you’ve a little more time and energy, enjoy a round of golf or hire bikes and cycle the 44 Km route around the lake. The more energetic might prefer to tackle the mountain routes, which often feature in the Tour de France.

From the owner
Feel at home far from home!
With its old beams, stone and red brick walls coupled with "funky, modern and mountain decor", and all the comforts of a careful renovation, the Petit SwansDoors and its brother Le SwansDoors are obviously from the same family - both are very central and very quiet!
Come and appreciate the calm of the Petit SwansDoors apartment, between the lake, the station and the mountains, seven minutes' walk from the medieval pedestrian streets and its local shops and come back as a group or with friends to our other flat in the same style.
You'll be able to discover the many fine-dining restaurants in the area, enjoy the lake all year round (swimming between June and September), ski, hike, or ride your bike, thanks to the secure bicycle garage at this two-room property. And the balcony is perfect for intimate meals or candlelit dinners with friends!
This is what we designed Le Petit SwansDoors for.
We hope you enjoy all the activities the region has to offer in all seasons.
Enjoy your stay in the heart of our city, where our four children grew up!
