Discover La Clusaz from your OVO Network chalet

One of the most popular resorts for French skiers, La Clusaz is a true gem in the heart of the Aravis mountains.

Just an hour from Geneva airport, La Clusaz has an excellent ski area, a wide range of family-friendly activities, a great selection of shops and restaurants and stunning chalets for rent.

Long before it became an international winter sports resort, La Clusaz was a farming village, proud of its traditions, and has preserved its authentic charm. Centuries-old chalets can be found throughout the village and its surroundings, turning every view into a scene worthy of a postcard.

Here, farmers still take their herds to their Alpine farms in the mountains in summer. You can buy cheeses, eggs, and other traditional products directly from the farmers, all made with passion.

OVO Network offers a wide selection of high-end chalets in La Clusaz, available for weekly rentals or short stays.

La Clusaz: a family-friendly resort, all year round

With a wealth of slopes and actvities for children, La Clusaz is extremely popular with families. You’ll find instructors dedicated to helping skiers and snowboarders progress, with lessons tailored to their age and skill level.

The resort also offers four childcare facilities, child-friendly snowpark, and five ski schools, as well as sledging runs and an ice rink. In summer, you can enjoy a beautiful aquatic area with indoor and outdoor heated pools, a wellness zone, or explore the village on a horse-drawn carriage.

In addition, there are mini-golf courses, year-round sledging, horseriding, mountain-biking, a large aerial swing to discover the area from above, and weekly family activities such as adventure parks, birds-of-prey shows, trampolines and much more. And many activities are free for children!

Skiing in La Clusaz

La Clusaz is a favourite resort with French skiers, thanks to its first-class infrastructure and well-maintained slopes. Several world ski champions come from La Clusaz and the neighbouring resort of Le Grand-Bornand, a testament to the excellent skiing conditions and quality of lessons.

La Clusaz’s impressive ski area benefits from very good snow conditions in winter, thanks to the altitude of some of its slopes (up to 2,600m) and 151 snow cannons.

You’ll also enjoy quieter slopes and shorter queues for the lifts, especially on weekdays and outside school holidays at Christmas and in February. Prices for lift passes, equipment rental, eating out and shopping are lower than in larger resorts. This excellent value for money means you could use the savings in other ways, perhaps by booking a private chalet at the foot of the slopes.

La Clusaz ski area

The La Clusaz ski area spreads across five sectors: Beauregard, Manigod, La Balme, l’Étale, and l’Aiguille. Each differs in size and difficulty level:

  • Beauregard  is the lowest and sunniest sector, easily accessible and perfect for family skiing
  • Manigod offers calm, family-friendly slopes surrounded by forests. It’s suitable for all levels, with a majority of blue runs.
  • La Balme, home of Candide Thovex, world champion in freeride and freestyle skiing, is a vast playground for off-piste enthusiasts and experienced skiers.
  • L’Étale features both red and black runs at high altitude (including the Régine Cavagnoud red run) as well as easier slopes lower down.
  • L’Aiguille, which is linked to La Balme, is home to the snowpark and is surrounded by runs of varying difficulty (green, blue, and red).

What else is there to do in La Clusaz in winter?

There’s more to La Clusaz than just skiing! The resort offers a wide range of activities to help you make the most of a winter holiday in the Alps.

As well as downhill skiing, La Clusaz has a wealth of cross-country skiing trails. For a change of pace, you can also try skijoering (skiing  while being towed by a horse), speedriding, paragliding, dog sledding, snowshoeing, night skiing, sledging, and outdoor ice skating, before relaxing in the heated outdoor pools of the aquatic centre.

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, take a step into the void at Col de Balme. This glass walkway is open to skiers from December and to non-skiers outside the ski season.

Don’t miss the La Clusaz Family Run, a dedicated ski area where beginners can discover the joys of skiing, while more experienced skiers can practice freestyle. The Family Run has three courses of varying difficulty, as well as a large relaxation area — perfect for photos with L’Étale and La Tournette as a stunning backdrop.
