What's on this Summer

This summer head to the stunning setting of Morzine and Les Gets for some fantastic events. From world class mountain biking and road cycling, to music festivals and the Mont Blanc Rally, there’s so much to enjoy.

June - July - August


June 17 - Cyclosportive Morzine-Haut Chablais


One of the most beautiful Alpine cycle races, this Cyclosportive has two courses to choose from, crossing the Chablais, the Brevon and the Giffre, and some of the region’s most beautiful passes.

The event is part of the Haute Savoie Cyclosportives Challenge, along with the Grand-Bo, the Faucigny Glières and the Saléve Bornes Glières.

20-24 June - Crankworx

Les Gets

This multi-competition event brings together the elite of the mountain-biking world in five days of competition. With Slopestyle, Dual Speed & Style, Pump Track and Descent, there’s an unbelievable atmosphere.

As well as the competitions, the programme includes entertainment, concerts and even a Kidsworx for budding champions!


June 21 - Fête de la Musique


Music is celebrated across France every year on the summer solstice, and Morzine always does its bit! Entertainment spills out of the bars and restaurants and on to the streets, and continues until there is no one left to party.


June 22-24  - Savoie Cup


More than 400 Porsches will descend on Morzine for this stunning car exhibition, and about 200 of them will take part in a mountain rally around the resort.

June 29 - July 1 - Pass'Portes du Soleil MTB

Morzine/Les Gets

Discover the fabulous mountain-biking terrain in the Portes du Soleil on this ride between France and Switzerland. There’s 80km of fun, varied routes, and refreshment points featuring local specialities. Nine stations will serve as starting points: Avoriaz, Châtel, Les Gets, Montriond-Les Lindarets, and Morzine on the French side, and Champéry, Les Crosets and Morgins in Switzerland.

For non-bikers there are guided walks to taste local farm produce or discover the local flora and fauna.



July 7-8 - Spartan Race


Morzine welcomes the Spartan Trifecta weekend, with a variety of courses in and around the village. As well as the challenging courses, expect plenty of entertainment in the start and finish area, and at the Palais des Sports where you’ll enjoy warm-up music, partner stands and the presentation of medals.


July 15 - Edelweiss Fair


This traditional fair takes place in the square by the church every year to raise money for the school. Expect lots of stalls, concerts, a tombola and much more.


July 16 - 20 - Kingdom of the Marmottes


Free fun and creativity for kids aged from 18 months to 12 years - giant inflatables, face-painting workshops, street shows and games will keep them coming back for more - and it’s all free!


July 21-22 International Festival of Mechanical Music

Les Gets

Mechanical music and time is the theme for the 18th edition of this popular festival, which centres around Les Gets’ Museum of Mechanical Music. Hundreds of shows throughout the village, with weird and wonderful music-making machines and fairground organs, will transport you to another era.

July 23-27 - Four Elements week

Les Gets

Earth, water, fire and air are at the centre of this family event in Les Gets. Children can enjoy a range of fun activities which will help them to discover and learn about their environment. They can also meet local farmers and craftsmen, take part in workshops and go on nature walks. Apart from certain workshops, events are free.


July 25-28 - French Downhill MTB Championships


Watch France’s best downhill bikers compete for the national title. The course is inspected on the first day, with training and qualifying heats on the following two days. The finals take place on July 28.


July 30 - August 3 - Morzine Pampers you


A whole week dedicated to your health and well-being. Try yoga workshops, Nordic walking, pilates, Zumba, meditation and more, all in the heart of the village. Check the website for what is happening and where.



August 1-5 - Les 100 Ciels

Les Gets

Yoga teacher Barbara and energy therapist Catherine will help you wind down and relax at this new well-being event for all ages.


August 5 - Morzine to Avoriaz hill climb


Cyclists can test themselves on this annual climb, which has been going since 1974. Ascend 860m in 14.6km - the 33-minute record was set in 1979 by Bernard Hinault. Cyclists set off from the church at 9am.


August 6-18 - Lounge Music Festival

Les Gets

For almost two weeks, more than 40 free concerts by local and international jazz, funk and soul artists will take place throughout the village, making for a great atmosphere in the streets.


August 8-9 - Morzine Plage


Fancy a day on the beach? Head to the tourist office, where the square is transformed into a huge sandpit, with inflatables, games and even a lookout tower. There’s live music too, and it’s all free.


August 11 - Hauts Forts trail race


This mountain course between Morzine and Avoriaz goes through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Portes du Soleil, Pléney ridges, Pointe de Nyon, the Manche valley, the Mines d'Or lake, col de Cou et arrête du Vanet, col du Fornet, Morzinette, and around the summit of the Hauts Forts, the highest point of the Chablais and the Portes du Soleil.

There are two courses - 55km and 24km - with relay options. Both start in Morzine and finish in Avoriaz.

August 11-17 - Avoriaz dance festival


Put on your dancing shoes and head to the neighbouring village of Avoriaz for this spectacle of dance. Classes are available in salsa, swing, Lindy Hop and much more. A one-day pass to the festival is €20, or pay €84 and join in for the whole week.



September 6-8 - Mont Blanc Rally

Les Gets/Morzine

Crowds gather at the various viewpoints to see the cars scramble around the mountains roads and passes of Morzine and Les Gets before they head for the Cote d’Arbroz.
