Outside the ski season, you can enjoy hiking and biking, swimming in Lake Montriond, or perhaps visit the adventure park or the Parc des Dérêches sports centre in Morzine. There is a huge variety of activities to try in the area, such as canyoning, climbing, golf, riding, via ferrata and paddle-boarding. Whatever time of year you choose to visit, you'll never be bored!

About the property ...

Chalet Bochard is a contemporary, three-storey chalet for eight guests, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

You can enter the house through the ground floor garage or via steps to the first floor.

There's a garage on the ground floor which has parking for one car as well as ski and bike storage. When you return to Chalet Bochard after a day in the mountains, you can leave your outdoor gear here and head to the sauna next door. There's also a double bedroom on this floor with a queensize bed and an en suite shower room.

The open-plan living area is on the first floor. The compact kitchen has everything you need to cook up a delicious meal, and there's room for everyone to enjoy it together at the dining table. After dinner, get together on the large cosy sofa in front of the television, curl up with a book in the quiet reading area or head out to the furnished terrace for some stargazing. There's also a WC on this floor and a useful storage area.

There are three more double bedrooms with queensize beds on the second floor: two of them, one of which has an en suite shower room, open on to a balcony. There is also a bathroom and a separate WC.

About the area ...

The resort of Morzine is in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, making the neighbouring resorts of Les Gets and Avoriaz easily accessible.

You can also ski in to Switzerland, and with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. The ski bus stops near Chalet Bochard, making this property a great base for fans of winter sports.

Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride.

In the spring and summer, the lush green slopes around Morzine become a haven for walkers, mountain bikers and thrill-seekers.

The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure. Take a picnic, and make a day of it!

Morzine has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment, so it's the perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in the town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledge runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages.

Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz. Other activities include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking. You can also take advantage of the Portes du Soleil Multi Pass, offering unrestricted access two a wide range of family activities.
