Chalet Tekoa ...
This delightful four-star chalet for eight people is in a great location, halfway between the charming village of Manigod (4km) and the pistes at La Croix Fry (3km). It's on the sunny side of the valley, and enjoys great views of the Aravis mountains - stunning in summer or winter!
The chalet overlooks the main road between the village and the pistes, which is great for access, and the open spaces are all on the other side of the chalet, so enjoy total privacy. The road is regularly cleared of snow, and the ski bus, which stops nearby, connects Manigod with the La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand areas.
A bakery and restaurant (which also offers takeaway food) can be found just a few minutes away in the charming village of Manigod, and there are more restaurants in Merdassier, although these may be closed out of season.
Larger groups of up to 19 can book Chalet Tekoa with another OVO Network property, La Grange à L'Ours, which is just across the road and sleeps up to 11.
About the property ...
Accommodation at Chalet Tekoa is set over three floors. As you enter on the ground floor, there's a useful ski room, shower room and sauna on your right - you can dump your outdoor gear here and jump straight in the sauna to chill out!
The kitchen on your left opens on to the dining area, where you can all get together over a meal while you enjoy the views of the Aravis valley and La Tournette. There's a double-ended living room, separated by a suspended metal fireplace - you can gather around the TV at one end, or sit down with a book or a game at the other. There's a door to the balcony from the dining area, and another from the living area to a secluded terrace if you're looking for a little more shade.
Three of the four bedrooms are on the first floor. Two doubles at the front of the chalet have access to a small balcony - bring your morning coffee up here and ease yourself into the day with some deep breaths of fresh mountain air! There is also a twin room on this floor (the beds can also be arranged as a double) and a full bathroom.
The fourth bedroom is on the lower ground floor - it's a double with a stylish shower room, which also contains a washing machine and dryer, and a separate toilet. There's also a games room with a reading area on this floor - it's a great area for teenagers who would prefer their own space.
About the area ...
Chalet Tekoa couldn’t be better placed to enjoy everything the La Clusaz area has to offer. You’re just a five-minute drive from the pistes at La Croix Fry (altitude 1500m). Here novice skiers can learn the basics with an ESF instructor, while the more experienced will enjoy the 220km of pistes that link the area to La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.
Parking at the pistes is free, but if you’d rather leave the car at home, the ski bus stops just 50m from the chalet and will have you on the slopes in no time.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten either, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides all just a short drive away.
In the summer, you can fill your days with activities or take it easy - you’ll be spoiled for choice in the Aravis region. There’s no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau.
If road or mountain biking is more your style, the chalet overlooks the route of the Tour de France when it passes through Manigod on the way to La Clusaz. In summer some of the ski lifts become bike lifts - take the easy way up and come down at your own pace.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting - just some of the many activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod.
Lake Annecy is only 30 minutes away and offers lots of watersports including waterskiing, wake-boarding, sailing, and diving. If this all sounds too energetic, why not just take a cruise, or hire a boat and find yourself a quiet lakeside beach? Whatever you do, you’re sure to have a holiday you won’t forget.
What next?
If you think Chalet Tekoa is the perfect place for your next holiday in the French Alps, why not check your dates against our availability calendar? We can hold the dates for you for 24 hours so that you can confirm it with the rest of your group. But don't leave it any longer - we think Chalet Tekoa will be a great choice for OVO Network guests.

The OVO Network Review
“...sit and watch the world, the weather and the wildlife go by, all four seasons long.”
Chalet Tekoa is a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom chalet for 8 spread over 3 floors and 120 m2 of floor space.
There is a shower room, bedroom and TV/games/reading room on the lower floor. The main communal space is on the ground floor and consists of a kitchen, double lounge area with wood burning stove and dining area.
The sauna, shower room and ski room are also on this floor. The upper floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom.
The property would suit an extended family or two families, or a group of friends.
The chalet has great kerb appeal and plenty of parking, a wide balcony running along the front of the property and then a huge private terrace to the far end of the chalet. The gardens are mature, with lovely planting, views across the Manigod valley are just splendid, whether viewed from outdoors, through the picture postcard frame windows, or from the south facing balcony.
The chalet is close to the ski bus stop, and sits above one of the last hairpin bends on the main road between Manigod village and the ski fields at La Croix Fry. Whilst some may be concerned about the possible negative impact of traffic close by, others will appreciate the proximity to the main road, and the resort.
The chalet is in a magnificent spot from which to sit and watch the world, the weather and the wildlife go by, and there are great walks from the front door.
The ski room is a real bonus, and keeps wet kit out of the main chalet. There's a very cool mobile ski rack with room to store skis for all, which tucks away into a little niche.
The suspended metal wood burner may not be ideal for groups with toddlers, but it is a focal point for the lounge spaces. We also like the way Velux windows in two of the three upstairs bedrooms have been installed to maximise the headroom and space, and flood the bedrooms with natural daylight.
The OVO Team.

From the owner
"We hope that everyone who comes at chalet Tekoa will discover the same sense of wellbeing"
Because it's a magnificent valley.
Because of the cowbells.
Because it's in the mountains where we grew up.
Because of the wonderful sunsets and the gentle twilights.
Because of the constantly changing skies.
Because of the magical look of the snow on the pines, the autumn colours, the summer evenings, because every season has its charm.
We wanted to make Tekoa a place to get together with family or friends.
A haven where you can get together after a day skiing, a snowshoe walk or a summer hike.
An evening of raclette, pancakes or barbecue, a corner to read a book or tea with friends.
We designed the chalet to make the most of these special moments.
We hope that everyone who comes here will discover the same sense of wellbeing.
Gérard and Françoise.

“A lovely place for a family stay”
Well located, close to the ski resort, clean, cosy, with everything you need (and even more!). Corinne the manager was very helpful and kind. Even with the children (9 month old baby, and two children of 9 and 11) there was enough space and they enjoyed their big bedrooms and the living room.

“We recommend Chalet TEKOA”
The chalet is very well located on the heights of Manigod. Comfortable, pretty, with a living room that offers a view to take your breath away! The bedding is excellent. It is very well equipped. When we arrived, we found a decorated chalet, a Christmas tree, chocolate candies on the table, a bottle of champagne, and Corinne the manager who is very nice. Despite the closure of the ski lifts (COVID) we had a dream family vacation. The snow was there to the delight of young and old.

“Perfect chalet, clean, well equiped and with a remarkable view”
Thanks for our wonderful stay in this great chalet. We will definitely be back in the region also during ski season one day or even in summer time. We enjoyed visiting Annecy, Chamonix, hiking on Plateau de Beauregard. All not very far. Next to that we had some sunny days and some snowy days.. ever changing view makes you want to look outside from the window non-stop.
