About Chalet Le Méridien - Tournette ...
This luxury, light-filled ski apartment which overlooks the beautiful Manigod valley is the perfect setting for your holiday, whether you are travelling with friends or a large family group.
The apartment takes up all of the first floor of a converted farmhouse, Chalet Le Meridien. It can also be rented together with Apartment Etale, which is on the floor below, to accommodate up to 20 people.
Both properties are self-contained, have their own entrances, parking, their own outdoor spaces, their own hot tubs, and are sound insulated.
Chalet Le Meridien is just a short walk from Manigod village, where you can pick up fresh bread from the boulangerie or enjoy a traditional meal at Val Sulens restaurant, and is perfectly placed to enjoy all the activities the La Clusaz area has to offer.
The property ...
Tournette is a beautiful light-filled apartment which takes up the first floor of a traditional farm chalet.
It sleeps 10 people in four bedrooms - kids will love their built-in bunk beds and both bathrooms were recently refurbished . The stunning open plan living area runs the width of the chalet, with picture windows opening on to a large covered balcony with plenty of room to eat out, read, or just take in the wonderful valley views.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to make cooking a pleasure. After a meal at the huge dining table, curl up on the sofas around the striking suspended wood-burning stove to discuss the day's events and plan the next. There's a separate TV room, so you won't be disturbed.
Round the evening off with a sauna or a dip in the outdoor hot tub to make sure of a good night's sleep.
About the area ...
Just a few minutes from the Croix Fry sector of the La Clusaz pistes, you'll be able to make the most of every minute on the slopes from this luxury apartment.
If you don't want to take the car, the ski bus stops just 100m from your door. From Croix Fry (altitude 1500m), your Aravis ski pass covers 220km of slopes, to La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails on the nearby Beauregard plateau, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with an ice skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
For the ultimate relaxation, let your cares float away at the heated indoor/outdoor pool at La Clusaz, as the snow falls gently around you! Or head back to the chalet where you can put your ski boots on the boot warmer so that they will be ready for the morning, your skis in the ski store outside the chalet, and head for the hot tub!
Just as in winter, the summer fun centres around Chalet Le Meridien's stunning Alpine location.
Each of the two apartments in this restored farmhouse has its own designated outdoor spaces, so that you can relax and eat out of doors. Parking spaces are also totally separate, as is access to the chalet.
Guests staying at Apartment Tournette have access to the first floor south-facing balcony which is above the terrace of Apartment Etale. This is the only place where you may see or hear your neighbours, although eacapartment has other outdoor spaces available for their guests use.
Further afield, guests can explore the mountains on foot, either from the door, or take the ski lift to higher altitudes and come back down at your own pace. You can take your bike too - pick up a route of graded mountain bike trails at the tourist office in La Clusaz. Gentler walking and glorious views can be found on the Beauregard plateau - take a picnic and plenty of water!
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, via-ferrata or white-water rafting - just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod. Adventure parks at Le Grand Bornand and Thônes provide tree-top fun for all ages.

From the Owner
There's definitely something special about the area, something of "old Europe": no high-rises, only lovely wooden chalets.
"Our first visit to the Manigod/ La Clusaz area, was 18 years ago, when we came to spend a summer holiday beside beautiful lake Annecy. We not only wanted to enjoy the lake but also to walk in the surrounding mountains. That's why we went to Manigod and La Clusaz, and discovered that it wasn't only the lake that was fantastic but also this beautiful valley nestled in the heart of the French Alps. There was definitely something special about the area, something of "old Europe", meaning no high-rise buildings, only lovely wooden chalets. This was exactly the kind of ski resort we were looking for, the kind you don't come across very often these days. This was the perfect place for us!
That is how we immediately fell in love with this part of the Aravis mountain range. We decided that the area was a fantastic place to invest in a second home where we could spend winter and summer holidays alike. We were lucky enough to find a lovely chalet near Thônes. But as our family grew bigger, with friends of our children often joining in, we decided after seven years to sell our first chalet and finally found our current chalet "Le Méridien". We knew by now that this was the ideal area for us, for summer and ski seasons alike. The Méridien was exactly the kind of chalet we had in mind with traditional features, wooden beams, open fire etc. First we worked on the downstairs apartment , which is now called Chalet L'Etale and later we converted the upper floor to make Chalet Tournette. As half of our family are snowboarders and the rest skiers, our favourite ski area is Croix Fry (Manigod). From there we often leave on a daytrip on the slopes, meeting up later at Chez Fon Fon , a lovely little cafe/ restaurant on the slopes where we can warm up around traditional dishes like fondue and raclette.
The view over the mountains from Merdassier and Croix Fry is absolutely breathtaking. The ski bus is about 100 meters away from the chalet, which is quite convenient if one of us wants to leave or come back earlier. We have had so many memorable holidays here, specially now that both apartments are finished: it means we can easily accommodate up to 20+ people without feeling crammed in. We love to have walks from the chalet into the mountains, whether it is in summer or in wintertime, before gathering together and sharing dinner and stories sitting at the long table together. In summer we love to go swimming in Lake Annecy, the cleanest lake in Europe. We enjoy sailing as well which allows us to take a dip in the middle of the lake, far from the crowd, before stopping for a meal in one of the restaurants on the lake's shore. Our favourite is Restaurant La Guinguette, just outside Talloires, which is old fashioned and has a romantic atmosphere. In a few words, Manigod is just the right hideaway for our family to get away from our busy daily life. We hope you'll enjoy it just as much as we do.

Why La Clusaz?
Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit. Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.
“Thank you for this winderful week”
The chalet, as much as the landscapes, were magnificent. We spent great evenings here thanks to the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of this place. The sauna and Scandinavian hot tub are definitely a plus, as well as the movie corner and the portable music speaker. We were charmed by your welcome gifts too. La Balme skiing area and its surroundings (waterfalls) are breathtaking. We would love to come back to Haute-Savoie.

“One of the most charming and well-equipped apartments”
One of the most beautiful places we have ever booked. Really sunny in the afternoons after a day skiing. We appreciated the kindness of Laetitia, who welcomes and looks after guests. We recommend it and are sure to come back. We would also like to mention the professionalism of the OVO Network team.

“Wonderful sunny week”
We conquered La Tournette! We were able to enjoy walks during the day and relax in the chalet in the evenings. We were fortunate to be able to try the adjoining apartment L'Etale last year and we came back this year to Tournette. What a pleasure!
Stéphane G. - 16/07/2016
A pleasant week in this very comfortable chalet. We really loved the magnificent view.

“A good stay”
As the weather wasn't that great, we enjoyed staying indoors, in this very nice and comfortable place with amazing views.

“Peace & quiet for the whole family”
A nice stay in this beautiful chalet with a great living area, ideal for big groups. Unforgettable moments after skiing.

“Our holiday in this chalet was exceptional.”
The wooden architecture is remarkable, all the equipment was in very good condition and the OVO service guarantees you peace of mind. As for the skiing, the pistes are not far away and the view is amazing.

“Looking forward to visit again next year ”
Dear Marjo and Coen, we had a really nice time again in both apartments (Tournette and Etale) with a group of 12 and a baby. It's such a nice and cosy chalet to stay there with a big group. We had plenty of space. The fireplace in Tournette is really nice and the view is amazing. Also the interior gives a pleasant 'feel-at-home' feeling. Our last evening we had the local raclette diner, which was delicious! Looking forward to visit it next year again with my colleagues!
Woen H. - 16/01/2016
“Great view, great skiing”
Our group rented both apartments in the chalet (Tournette and Etale). We loved the view, the large and airy living room, the nature, the nice village, and the absence of crowd on the slopes.
Ilyas M. - 02/01/2016
“Very cosy. ”
A party of three families, we had a lovely time at Chalet Tournette. The chalet is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We appreciated the bottle of wine which was left, as well as the logs for the woodburner; it was very cosy. The large terrace is really lovely and the view is just magical. We will have lovely memories of our holiday.

“Everything we needed”
The views are amazing here from this bright and airy chalet with an informal and cosy interior decoration. The different sitting areas give everyone a space to relax. The scenery around here is just great with lots of walks and climbing challenges. There are local shops nearby in the village. Everything we needed was close at hand.
Christine M. - 25/07/2015
“We loved the chalet and the view!”
Thank you very much for a good family holiday in a pretty chalet. We'd love to return.
Tom R. - 28/03/2015
“Wonderful and very cosy”
We had a great time with our whole team of musqueteers (IT-consultancy company from the Netherlands) for a ski trip in chalets Tournette and Etale. The chalets were wonderfull and very cosy with a nice fireplace and a great view. Everything was very clean and when we arrived there were nice and lovely welcome packages. We had every night dinner with the whole group (16 persons) in chalet Tournette where we had plenty of space. The last night we ate raclette, arranged by the chalet manager. It was delicious!
Emma M. - 02/03/2015
“Wonderful family holiday”

“Cosy, yet spacious and comfortable”
We spend a very pleasant week with our family at your remarkable chalet. Everything was perfect. The chalet is very welcoming and cosy, yet spacious and comfortable. The south-facing terrace, the tasteful decor ...Thanks also for the bottle of wine that was waiting for us - a lovely detail that gave us a lot of pleasure. Thanks also to the manager Jocelyn, who was always smiling, welcoming and available when needed. We would love to be able to return one day.
Catherine C. - 14/02/2015
Great family stay with our children and grand children in your wonderful chalet! We loved it and enjoyed it as much as we could. And the weather was sunny all week ! Thanks a lot.
Catherine C. - 14/02/2015
Thank you to Jocelyn for the warm welcome. It is our second stay at the chalet, another time of pure pleasure!
Dominique D. - 07/02/2015
We'll never forget the week we spent here. Our holiday at Chalet Tournette has been magnificent. Not only did the location enable us to visit Annecy, Mont Blanc, Geneva, but the house itself was the setting for a dream holiday. The bedrooms, the living room and the kitchen were all so comfortable. But the best feature of the chalet, apart from the view, is the sauna, which we used a lot! I hope that we can return in the winter to enjoy all the winter sports available in the are. Thank you so much, and see you soon.
Marta Z. - 19/09/2014
Beautiful view from a nicely decorated, well-equipped chalet. The surroundings are amazing. NB: The website and the booking system are excellent.

“We want to come back!”
A very good stay in your comfortable chalet which lacks nothing. We plan to come back with the family to enjoy the scenery, the peace and the welcome.
Révillot F. - 22/03/2014
“What a pleasure! ”
Another great week, just like last year. We were happy to return to this chalet and hope to come back again soon for a third week of adventure.
Dabrowski F. - 08/03/2014
“Only good memories!!!!”
Superb rental in quiet location. Comfortable and well equipped: we had a great stay here. Even as a group, you can spend time isolated from the rest if you need to relax. I recommand it to all nature lovers and people in search of authentic and family friendly ski resorts. Big plus in winter: the roads and access to the chalet are cleared every day.
Christian D. - 22/02/2014
A week spent in the heart of the Aravis mountains, discovering the area, the pistes, the cheeses and the charcuterie ... and the friendly people! The ski bus driver deserves a special mention! A very lovely week in every respect, in a superb well-managed chalet. We'll be back!
Family G. - 21/02/2014
Great resort with many opportunities of leisure and sport (hiking, alpine ski, cross-country, and more). It's probably that diverse in summer too. We'll have to come back...
Paul Z. - 08/02/2014
“A real break from our daily lives”
A delightful week, your chalet is really lovely and in a perfect setting. The view is extraordinary - a real break from our daily lives. We'll certainly be back!
Vincent H. - 07/02/2014
“Spacious and close to the ski bus”
We liked this vast apartment with spacious rooms, its woodburner and the number of bathrooms and toilets, as well as fast internet connexion. What made it even more special: being so close to the free ski bus for direct access to the slopes.
Vincent H. - 01/02/2014
“Really great! ”

This was our first stay ever in the Alps, and we simply loved it. The chalet is perfectly located with fantastic views over the mountains. It's really well equipped and I wouldn't mind coming back soon!

“Comfort, easy access and cosiness”
We all loved the chalet: warm, tastefully furnished & appointed, and beautifully set, with its easy access to and superb views of the mountains. We greatly appreciated its cosiness, sheer comfort and well appointed facilities, as well as the authentic rurality of the charming working village.
Paul F. - 22/12/2012
We spent an excellent week-end in this superb chalet, decorated with taste: clear wood everywhere, cleverly designed space that creates a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in every room. This is a fantastic chalet and we'll make sure to rent it again very soon!
Sophie F. - 14/12/2012
We have had a wonderful time at Chalet Le Méridien-Tournette, a fantastic combination of fresh snow and sunshine. We wish we could stay another week!
PS: the best cuisine and atmosphere in the Haute Savoie still remains at "Ferme de Lormay" near Le Grand Bornand and known as "Chez Albert"!!!!
