La Ferme de Mila ...
Located in a quiet and privileged area at the foot of the mountains, this beautifully rebuilt farmhouse sleeping 14 guests is a great place for a family holiday in the Alps, whatever the time of year. And with a private indoor pool, a hot tub, a sauna and a gym, it has everything you need for a fabulous mountain holiday, whether you plan to enjoy some exercise or just relax.
Its ideal location is less than 5 kilometers away from the resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand, so you've got easy access to great skiing in both directions. It's just a 30-minute drive to Annecy and less than an hour to Geneva airport.
It's a short drive (or a 15-minute walk) to the village of Saint Jean de Sixt, where there are several shops, including a popular bakery, sports hire shops, delicatessen, post office, supermarket, bar and many restaurants.
About the property ...
This superb three-storey farmhouse has been completely rethought to provide luxurious accommodation for up to 14 guests, in six bedrooms with six bathrooms.
You'll enter by the house's sub-basement, where you can leave your ski, bike or hiking equipment and access the wonderful wellness area on the same level. You could take a dip in the beautiful indoor counter-current pool, work out in the well-equipped gym, sweat it out in the sauna or step out onto the sunny terrace and enjoy the views from the hot tub.
There's also a laundry room, a shower and a WC on this floor.
Five of the six en suite bedrooms are on the ground floor, each with outside access. There are four double bedrooms, two of which open on to the covered terrace, another one with access to a private balcony, and the last one with access to the open-air terrace. There is also a room with two sets of bunk beds ideal for children - this room has an en suite shower room and also opens on to the covered terrace where children can play table tennis.
The final bedroom - a double room with an en suite shower room - is on the top floor, where you'll also find the huge, open-plan living area. A glass screen separates the well-equipped kitchen from the dining area, where there's room for everyone to enjoy meals together. In the spacious seating area, two large sofas are positioned in from of the three-sided fireplace, and there's another seating area where you can watch TV, play board games or curl up with a good book. This huge space opens on to a large balcony, where you can enjoy the wonderful views of the Aravis mountains over an aperitif, or perhaps a hot chocolate before bed.
There's a games and TV room on the mezzanine floor - a great place for children to make their own.
About the area ...
La Ferme de Mila is right in the heart of some great skiing - halfway between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand ski resorts (both just 10 minutes drive away), you can ski somewhere new every day. And if you've got beginners in your party, this is the perfect place to help them find their ski legs.
The Aravis ski pass also covers the Manigod area, giving you 220km of pistes of varying levels to explore, as well as extensive off-piste action. Nordic skiers will discover plenty of trails from St Jean de Sixt - in fact there's a 7km trail which passes just behind the chalet.
There's a free sledging run behind the town hall too! Non-skiers can go ice skating or swimming in La Clusaz, where the heated indoor and outdoor pools are open all year round, or try snowshoeing, sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides and the exciting ski-joering - skiing while being towed by a horse! After all that excitement why not enjoy some pampering at one of the two spas in La Clusaz or relax by your own private pool - you've earned it!
There's plenty to do here in the spring and summer too. St Jean de Sixt is one of only two places in the world where you can try Bun-J ride, a cross between ski jumping and bungee jumping! It's open all year round. Other more traditional pastimes are available too - marked footpaths crisscross the mountains, many starting right from your front door, or you can explore by mountain bike - take the lift to the top of the mountain then come back down at your own pace.
There are a number of mountain farms within a walk of the chalet, where you can see Reblochon cheese being made - you'll come away with a delicious treat for the walk back! If you're looking for something a little more challenging, there's a climbing school, via ferrata routes, tree-top adventure parks, canyoning, white-water rafting, horse-riding, karting and paragliding all nearby.

La Ferme de Mila is a three-storey farmhouse, converted into luxury accommodation for 14 people.
It's a great choice for a big family get-together, or even for a holiday with friends, and with a private pool, a sauna and a hot tub, as well as great relaxation and outdoor spaces, you won't want to leave.
But there's plenty to discover in the area - there's great skiing in La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, which are both less than 5km away, and can be reached by ski bus from the centre of St Jean de Sixt. In the summer, there are plenty of walking and biking trails in the mountains, and the medieval lakeside city of Annecy is just a 40-minute drive.
As well as six beautiful en suite bedrooms, La Ferme de Mila has impressive living areas where you can all get together over a good meal, a chat in front of the fire or for a drink on the terrace. There's also a separate TV room, where children can have their own privacy.
But the highlight of this wonderful chalet has to be the spa area on the ground floor - a well-equipped gym, a sauna, a shower as well as the superb indoor counter-current pool, with doors that open on to a terrace. It's the perfect place to relax and wind down.

We hope you will have a fabulous holiday in our house, in the heart of the Aravis mountains.
We've always loved this valley, for its beauty and tranquility. It's a place where you can get away from your daily routine.
When we're in the mountains, time stops, and we can enjoy a real break from the noise of city life.
Not far from the ski resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, this valley take shape as you approach from Annecy and Thônes. Saint-Jean-de-Sixt is the last village before you reach the ski slopes and the hiking trails.
La Ferme de Mila is in Forgeassoud dessus, known as "the local Nice" for its natural sunshine. We have put a lot of love and energy into this home, to make it a place of comfort and relaxation.
We hope every guest will feel at home here, and enjoy the different spaces.
If you are coming for a winter break, the Aravis offers wonderful skiing in the resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, both of which are just a few minutes' drive from La Ferme de Mila. You can also enjoy ski-touring and cross-country skiing locally.

“Perfect mountain getaway”
We really enjoyed our time at the chalet. The pool, the living area, everything was perfect. Also, Mandy's quick responses made everything great.

Everything is really perfect and very comfortable (quality brand name electrical appliances, top quality bedding, spacious bedrooms...) the decoration is in good taste and does not fall into the unbearable "mountain style" found in most rentals.
The large size of the chalet and its many facilities (swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, video room, etc.) meant that our family (14 people including 2 babies) were able to find activities without ever getting in each other's way and had a great Christmas. Special thanks go to Mandy, always available and efficient, who did everything to make our stay so pleasant.
The only slightly negative point for skiers (but it's important to know that) is access to La Cluzaz, with very difficult traffic and parking problems, no doubt due to the Christmas holiday period.
