About Onze Chalet Manigod ...

This beautiful chalet sits above the charming village of Manigod, just 2.5km from the family-friendly ski station of La Croix Fry with its ESF ski school.

There are stunning views of the Aravis mountains and valley from the south-facing balcony and large terrace, which has a bar and dining area. It's just a short drive to Manigod where you can pick up fresh bread and croissants or perhaps a takeaway meal from the Auberge du Sulens restaurant.

The peaceful location of Onze Chalet is the perfect antidote to the usual hustle and bustle of the bigger ski resorts, and in the summer, it's the perfect place to discover the flora and fauna of the Alps.

The property ...

The cosy and quirky decor of Onze Chalet, which comfortably sleeps 11 people in 6 bedrooms, reflects the Dutch origins of its owners.

Plenty of comfortable sofas and a charming ornate fireplace contrast with the sleek well-equipped open-plan kitchen on the ground floor. In the spacious living area, large windows frame the stunning views of La Tournette and the Aravis mountains.

Doors open from the dining area on to the large terrace where you can enjoy a meal or a drink at the bar while the sun sets. There's a separate TV lounge, a double bedroom and bathroom on this floor too, as well as a useful utility room.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor - a double room with shower room opposite, a single room, and a double room with en suite shower room.

There are two more double bedrooms and two shower rooms on the lower ground floor, where there is also a smaller kitchen, a TV lounge with access on to the garden terrace and a superb ski store with boot warmer and room to store bikes and outdoor gear. This lower floor could be a great self-contained option for a party with teenagers who enjoy their independence.

About the area ...

You'll be staying just a few minutes' drive from the lifts at Croix Fry, so you'll waste no time getting on the slopes in the mornings. You don't even need to take the car, as the ski bus stops less than 200 metres from your front door.

There's an ESF ski school base at Croix Fry and beginners will love the gentle nursery slopes. Those with more experience can explore the 220km of pistes between Manigod, La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, which are covered by the Aravis ski pass. Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from on nearby Beauregard plateau, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool at La Clusaz, ice skating rink and cinema, as well as snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides.

If you think there is a  lot to do in the Alps in the winter, you'll be amazed at what you can do once the snow has gone. In the spring and summer there's no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau. The ski lifts will take walkers or cyclists and their bikes up the mountains, so they can come down at their own pace.

Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting within a few miles of Manigod. Via ferrata is another great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains safely on iron walkways, secured to a harness. You'll have plenty of experiences to share back at the chalet, over a barbecue and a glass of wine.

What next?

If you like the sound of a holiday at Onze Chalet Manigod, check your dates on our availability calendar - we can hold your dates for 24 hours while you make up your mind. But don't wait too long - this is a popular chalet and we'd hate you to miss out on the holiday of a lifetime!

The OVO Network Review

“You can't always judge a book by its cover...”

Onze Chalet is a 6 bedroom 5 bathroom chalet for 11, 295m2 of space over 3 floors. On arrival at the chalet, guests see a large chalet at the end of a private drive, orientated to benefit from what you know will be magnificent open views towards La Tournette. The large entrance lobby to this interesting and unusual family chalet then sets the scene for what is to follow: the outside may look traditional, the interiors and outdoor terrace accessible from the main living floor are contemporary, comfortable, modern, welcoming, and interestingly put together by Ellen the owner of the chalet, with an eye for colour and design and the desire to provide maximum comfort for her guests. The kitchen is brand new and has all mod cons, the lounge surrounding the fireplace cosy and comfortable. The tv room is in a separate part of the house, there is room for all to spread out at Onze Chalet Manigod.

Out of doors the terrace off the living room is a great space in it's own right, all of the gardens and outdoor spaces are private and not overlooked. The sister property "Onze Maison" is in the Var just outside of the popular village of  Lorgues www.onzemaisonlorgues.com is different again. We are very happy to be working with the owners of both properties and confident that you will enjoy staying in one of their properties too.

From the Owner

Every time we see the view it takes our breath away

We are the proud owners of this beautiful house in the Alps, located on top of Manigod mountain with a panoramic view. Every time we see the view it takes our breath away. We have been in this area for 15 years and we cannot imagine anywhere better to fully enjoy nature and our holidays.

Our four adult daughters love to bring their friends here all year round, to explore the mountains and enjoy beautiful Annecy. Lake Annecy is the cleanest lake in Europe, where boats can be rented throughout the summer. This is the place to enjoy the pure French/Italian atmosphere of the lakeside villages.

The first things we notice when we walk into the house are the atmosphere, the space of the large open-plan kitchen, the incredible view and the big fireplace in the living room which is the centre of the house.

The nearby ski slopes are suitable for all ages, and you can also enjoy day trips to Les Trois Vallées or Megeve.

We recently refurbished the house, giving it a modern touch with a new kitchen and a large south-facing terrace.

We love to share our house with people who love it as much as we do.

Why La Clusaz?

Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit. Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.

Guest Reviews

“Absolute comfort”

You feel at home the moment you enter the chalet... The terrace is amazing and so are the views! But the 'Cafés Gilbert' where you have your own private bar at the terrace is the best! The area hasn't been discovered yet by developers and the mass. Because of this it's still a pure mountain village and very green with just a few chalets. When skiing there are no queues and you can ski to La Clusaz where you'll find nice slopes and restaurants.

“A magical holiday”

Sunshine and a breathtakiing view! Lovely spacious living rooms and very light. The bedrooms were all very different.

Laurence G. - 18/02/2017

“We will be back.”

Having just returned from Half term skiing at Manigod/La Clusaz, we couldnt have asked for a better home for the week. The chalet was beautifully decorated and had everything we required. From heated boot warmers, so lovely! plenty of room for the kids and adults to relax to a fully equiped kitchen, perfect for catering for the 8 of us.

Sadie W. - 11/02/2017

“Best thing: the view over the mountains”

The terrace is great too, and the interior design creates a welcoming atmosphere. Plus the nature around is just spectacular.

Eric G. - 30/07/2016

“Pleasant and welcoming”

This was our first time at your chalet and it is really pleasant and welcoming. We recommend it. The week skiing at Croix Fry and Merdassier was also excellent.

Bruno L. - 20/02/2016

“Marvellous holiday”

The ambience of the chalet, the view, the setting at the end of the road ... everything we needed for a marvellous holiday. Being close to La Clusaz and surrounded by nature added to the charm of this place.

Thierry H. - 06/02/2016

“Rarely have we seen such stunning views over the French Alps”

When getting up in the morning to drink coffee on the balcony, the fresh mountain air kickstarts your body, ready for another day of skiing. With tons of great restaurants in the area, Reblochon cheese from the farmer next door and plenty of ski slopes, Manigod is a great place to spend your winter or summer. Lake Annecy is as clear as tap water and also the views here are magnificent. The spacious and warm chalet tops all of this; beautiful rooms, the cosy atmosphere and everything you'd need is available. Hope you'll have just as much of a good time as we did!
