About Chalet Pajules ...

With fabulous views over the valley and the Beaufortain mountains beyond, you could be forgiven for thinking that Chalet Pajules is a long way from anywhere!

In fact, it's less than 10 minutes from the ski station of Valmorel itself. One of the newest ski stations in France, Valmorel was established in the 1970s, and is very different from older ski resorts. You won't find any high rise concrete hotels here - the village has a traditional chalet-style look, with a traffic-free square with a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants.

If you'd rather not drive, the Valmobus ski bus stops just 100m from the door of Chalet Pajules but please note it runs only once per hour.

Summer or winter, there is plenty to see and do when you stay at Chalet Pajules.

NOTE: guests at chalet Pajules will be offered 20% discount on their ski rental at Sport 2000 shop in Valmorel (and 10% discount on all clothes).

The property ...

The accommodation at this contemporary 3 star chalet is set over three floors. As you enter on the ground floor, the garage is on your left, and has all the room you need to store bikes, skis or pushchairs. There's a large cupboard in the hall where you can hang up your outdoor clothes ready for the next day, and a bootwarmer means you're always ready to hit the slopes. There's also a utilty room on this floor with a washing machine, dryer, and a sauna - the perfect place to relax after a busy day on the mountain.

The main living area is on the next floor, making the most of the fabulous mountain views. The well-equipped dining kitchen is at one end of the L-shaped area, with a large seating area across the front of the chalet, with access to the spacious terrace - a great place for an apero, or maybe a barbecue.

There's also a stylish double bedroom on this floor, with an en suite shower room and a separate toilet.

The remaining four bedrooms are on the top floor - three cosy double rooms, one of which has an en suite shower room, and a children's room with bunk beds, a television and room to play. The two rooms at the front of the chalet have floor to ceiling windows which flood them with light in the mornings. A shower room and a separate toilet complete this floor.

There is parking for three cars in front of the chalet, and room for another in the garage. Guest  will appreciate the secure bike storage available in the garage.

About the area ...

Chalet Pajules is just 10 minutes away from the charming ski village of Valmorel, in the Tarentaise, and just five minutes from the nearest ski lift. The Valmorel, Doucy Combelouvière and Saint François Longchamp ski area, known as the Grand Domaine, boasts 50 ski lifts, more than 340 snow cannons and 15 snow parks, with a boarder cross course, free ride and slope style areas, as well as heli-skiing.

There's plenty for non-skiers too - choose from snowshoeing, paragliding, ice climbing, hiking and Nordic trails, as well as quad biking, airboarding, and tobogganing! If you'd rather just relax and take it easy, maybe a spa day at the Valmoforme well-being centre or Spa Cîmes is for you. Both offer a great range of massage and beauty treatments, as well as a spa area and gym area and tisanerie.

The ESF ski school in Valmorel offers ski lessons for all ages as well as a Piou-Piou club, where three and four-year-olds can find their ski legs in a supervised snow garden.

In summer, the snowy slopes are replaced by lush green pastures perfect for hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, rock climbing and much more. The hike to the summit of Crève-Tête will reward you with fabulous views, or there's a fabulous waterfall walk from Valmorel - visit the tourist office for maps and information.

The museum of traditional life in nearby Quarante Planes is an interesting day out, and the Magicadventure high ropes park in Valmorel has ziplines, giant nets and courses for all ages. If you fancy exploring a bit further afield, why not enjoy a relaxing day and take the water at the Thermes de Brides-les-Bains, a mountain spa centre just 16km from Valmorel.

The historic town of Albertville, which hosted the winter Olympics in 1992, and the nearby medieval city of Conflans, are a 30-minute drive from Chalet Pajules.

The OVO Network Review

“Peace and comfort in the mountains”

Chalet Pajules can accommodate 10 guests comfortably, with an area of 140m² over three floors. There are five bedrooms and three shower rooms.

Situated on the road which leads to the Valmorel ski station, just five minutes from the slopes, this property has a great view over the valley, with the Beaufortain mountains beyond.

In summer, those who love the mountains will enjoy the hike to Crève-Tête, the magnificent summit of Valmorel.

Chalet Pajules is new, one of several chalets built recently in this area. The two terraces are lovely places to sit out with friends and family, whatever the time of day.

The sauna area, which will be finished in time for the launch, will be a real bonus after a day skiing.

There are five bedrooms, two of which have en suite shower rooms, and there is a separate toilet on each floor. Children are not forgotten, with a TV corner and a selection of games in the children's bedroom.

The kitchen is a sociable space, with a dining table for 10 and windows which open on to the terrace, where you can enjoy a barbecue in summer. The two sitting areas mean everyone can relax and enjoy the view.

There are parking spaces in front of the chalet, and a large garage where you can leave a car as well as your skis, bikes, and pushchairs. The owners are passionate about the mountains and have installed large cupboards and a boot warmer in the entrance for all your outdoor gear.

Just 30 minutes drive from Albertville and close to the great ski domaines of the Tarentaise, Chalet Pajules is just as interesting in summer as well as winter, promising a great mountain holiday with family or friends. If you are looking for a new comfortable chalet, designed with care by the owners who want you to have an exceptional holiday, this chalet is made for you.

From the owner

We designed our chalet to become part of its natural environment

Our dream was to have a beautiful chalet in the mountains so that we could enjoy wonderful holidays with our loved ones. In 2008, we discovered the magnificent Valmorel valley, surrounded by the Lauziere mountains and the Tarentaise and Beaufortain ski resorts, and we fell in love.

We love trail running, skiing and walking, so this is the perfect place for us.

We never tire of it, summer or winter.

We designed our chalet to be part of its natural environment. Simple, cosy and authentic, it is a haven of well-being, perfect for sharing with friends old and young.

We built it to share it with others, and we hope that you will feel at home here.

Spacious chalet, very well equipped. Nicely decorated. We had a great stay.

— Nadia D. Mar 2023

“We will come back next year.”

A wonderful chalet, well equipped, with an amazing view. We will come back next year.

— Elena D. Dec 2022

“Really nice place”

A lovely chalet for the holiday, with all the necessary equipment. We only recommend additional lights in the bedrooms for night time.

— Celine C. Dec 2022

“Great stay at a great location-everything as advertised”

What a great stay! The chalet was fantastic and great cycle climbs in the area for the advanced speedcyclist or e-bikers. Every ride is tough just what we expected. The view is fantastic.

— Jack D. Jun 2022

“An excellent stay”

A very beautiful chalet with a complete equipment, ideal for a family. We'll be back!

— Eric L. Mar 2022

“Perfect”

This is a very comfortable chalet with everything you need to spend a good time in the Alps.

— Pascal G. Feb 2022

“The best!”

A wonderful chalet, and great location to visit the area. The manager is very welcoming.

— Tristan B. Oct 2021

“Highly recommended!”

This is a very comfortable chalet, just as described on the website. The resort is family orientated, with a lot of things to do.

— David H. Feb 2021

“Calm and serenity”

The chalet is perfectly equipped and set up for 3 couples with children. We had a great week with everything we needed.

— Anthony C. Jan 2021

“An individual chalet where you feel at home”

Spacious and welcoming, very well insulated, the underfloor heating is very pleasant. The large bay windows overlooking the mountains (panoramic view) provide great clarity. There is a sauna for a good relaxation and recovery at the end of the day. The only thing missing is a fireplace or a wood stove for the cocooning side.

— Marie G. Jan 2021

“Very nice chalet”

Friendly and efficient welcome, very clean and comfortable chalet. Activities for children in Valmorel are very diverse (biathlon, igloo, snowmobile etc ...).

— Joel B. Dec 2020

“Pure bliss!”

The chalet was very spacious for our group of 7 people, and very well equipped (much better than at home!). There were even games and toys for the children. On arrival, we were provided with a code to enter the property, which made us feel really safe. The lovely manager came to meet us the next day. We came for hiking and we did it every day, discovering the wonderfully diverse landscapes of the area. Some of us also enjoyed tree-top adventure and mountain biking.

— Danièle B. Aug 2020

“Perfect for a large group.”

The chalet was clean and spacious. It was well equipped and the sauna was a welcome addition to the chalet. The bus stop is about a 5-7 min walk from the chalet and is 10 mins from Valmorel centre. The buses run every 40- 90 mins so I would recommend checking the timetable. The Chalet was a perfect get away for a ski holiday with friends.

— Mitchell C. Mar 2020

“Great stay”

We spent a week in this comfortable and pratictal chalet. It might be a little bit fat from the ski bus when you have children carrying their equipment, but other than that it was great!!

— Martine K. Feb 2020

“To be repeated!”

A really good week at Chalet Pajules, which is perfectly equipped, comfortable, spacious and well insulated for sound! We were a group of eight adults and two babies. The code entry for the front door is very practical when there are a lot of you. The chalet is in a quiet location just 10 minutes by car or bus from the centre of Valmorel. The bus stop is an eight minute walk from the chalet, and the free buses run all day. You need to be organised but it's really useful when you don't all have a car and have different timetables. Being a bit of a distance from the pistes didn't affect our holiday. We rented a locker in a shop at the foot of the slopes, which I recommend, as it makes travelling easier. To be repeated!

— Charlotte J. Mar 2019

“An excellent holiday”

Excellent holiday with family and friends at Chalet Pajules. We loved the comfort of the chalet, the architecture and the management service, as well as the great living areas! And it has all been done very tastefully. Very practical with children and several families. I highly recommend it.

— Maxence R. Mar 2019

“A great holiday at Valmorel”

A magnificent chalet which has been tastefully decorated. Everything was perfect. A great ski area.

— Muriel G. Feb 2019

“A really lovely brand new chalet, very well equipped, just 10 minutes from the pistes”

A lovely space, very well equipped kitchen, three very practical bathrooms, a sofa big enough for everyone and a boot warmer which means you can start and finish the day as you should!

— Sylvie G. Feb 2019
