Chalet Les Rosiers is in the heart of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area, and in summer you'll be spoiled for choice of walks, hikes and biking trails. The lake at Montriond is a popular destination for swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding and walking.

About the property

This stylish chalet sleeps 10 guests in five bedrooms, four of which are en suite. Accommodation is set over two split-level floors.

As you enter on the ground floor, you can leave your outdoor equipment in the ski room before heading for the living room. Full-height windows frame the incredible view, and fill this comfortable area with light. Sofas and seating are arranged around an ethanol fireplace and the large TV screen, and there's an elegant dining table with plenty of room for everyone to eat together. The open kitchen, which is fully equipped with Neff appliances, makes cooking for a crowd a pleasure.

Before dinner, you can gather for drinks at the bar or on the sunny balcony, to take in the incredible views across the valley.

There are four double bedrooms, all of which are en suite, including the master bedroom, which also has a private balcony. All of these rooms can be made up with kingsize or twin beds, according to your needs. The fifth bedroom has a set of bunk beds.

You'll find the cinema room as well as the sumptuous spa area on the lower floor. There's a steam room, a sauna with a window so that you don't miss out on the views, a WC and a shower with a cold water bucket to freshen you up. You can step out from here onto the hot tub terrace - the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.

About the area

Just 4km from Morzine, the peaceful village of Montriond gives you easy access to the Morzine ski area, as well as Les Gets and Avoriaz.

With 650km of pistes in the Portes du Soleil ski area, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.

If you’re not a skier, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which regulalrly host ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area’s frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride.

Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.

In summer, the area is a great destination for an outdoor holiday. Walking, hiking and biking trails crisscross the mountains, and you can save your legs by taking the lift to the top and enjoying a leisurely descent.

You can swim, canoe or paddleboard at the lake at Montriond, or just enjoy a gentle walk around its shores before lunch at the restaurant.
