You'll be just 400m from the Nyon ski lift and 1km from the centre of Morzine when you stay at this beautifully refurbished chalet for eight.
Whatever time of year you choose to visit, there's always a warm welcome at Chalet Fergust - gather around the fire to chat about your day, or soak in the outdoor hot tub on the large terrace as the sun goes down.
Floor-to-ceiling windows and calming neutral decor combine with wood panelling to make Chalet Fergust a wonderfully relaxing base for your holiday in the Portes du Soleil.
About the property
Chalet Fergust sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms, with accommodation set over three floors.
On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads to the ski room, with a heated boot rack, and two double, en suite bedrooms. There's also a separate WC on this floor.
The first floor is devoted to the spacious open plan living area. A super-comfy modular sofa and beanbags are arranged around the fire and the TV, and doors open on to the sunny furnished terrace, where you'll find the hot tub. The well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar, and there's a large dining table where you can all eat together.
There are two more bedrooms on the top floor - one with twin beds and another with a double bed. These rooms share a separate bathroom.
Chalet Fergust also has a garage and parking.
About the area
You can explore the whole of the Portes du Soleil ski area from this delightful Morzine chalet. You can even ski into Switzerland, but be warned, only the most accomplished skiers should tackle the Swiss Wall - a huge mogul field which is classified as an orange route - too hazardous for a black! But with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities in the Portes du Soleil.
If you’re not a skier, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which host ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area’s frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride.
Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.
In summer the area is a great destination for an outdoor holiday. Walking, hiking and biking trails crisscross the mountains, and you can save your legs by taking the lift to the top and enjoying a leisurely descent.
You can swim, canoe or paddleboard at nearby Lake Montriond, or just enjoy a gentle walk around its shores before lunch at the restaurant.
