This comfortable chalet sleeps 14 people in seven bedrooms, with five bathrooms.

Guests can also enjoy a fitness room, a spa with sauna and jacuzzi and a games room, complete with a flat screen television and table football. If you really can’t bear to leave your work at home, there’s even office space!

On the ground floor, the large open plan living area has cosy sofas around a wood-burning stove, a huge dining table to sit 14 people together and a fully-equipped kitchen, all with stunning views over the pistes and peaks. There’s also a double bedroom on this floor with an en suite shower room, and a large cloakroom big enough for everyone’s outdoor gear.

There is another bedroom downstairs, as well as a shower room, the utility room, the fitness room and spa and the boiler room.

There are five more bedrooms on the top floor: a double with en suite shower room, two further doubles and two bunk rooms. There are also two shower rooms with double basins and two separate toilets. There’s a games room up here too, which older children will love to make their own, with a television and table football.

There’s a small garden, but the best place to eat outside is on the large terrace which has stunning panoramic views over the valley and mountains. You’ll also see a small separate chalet, which is your ski store, complete with boot warmers! In the summer there is plenty of room to store bikes here, too.

The owners have certainly made the most of their experience in the hospitality business to make sure that guests at Chalet La Moutelette have everything they need for a great holiday, whatever the time of year.

About the area

From your holiday base at Chalet La Moutelette, you can easily explore the 12 ski stations of the Portes du Soleil.

With 650km of pistes, almost 200 lifts and endless cross-country skiing, you’ll never be bored of this winter sports paradise.The ressorts cross the border, so why not ski into Switzerland for lunch? But be careful which route you choose - the Swiss Wall is a piste which challenges even the most experienced skiers.

If you’re not a skier, or if you fancy a change from the slopes, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which regularly play host to ice hockey matches. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling, ice-diving, or tandem paragliding. If you’d rather discover the area in a more sedate manner, try a sleigh ride.

Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park in Morzine offers a variety of activities for all ages.

When the snow melts, the slopes around Morzine and Montriond become a haven for walkers, mountain bikers and thrill-seekers.

Just a short drive from Chalet La Moutelette, the lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure.

Morzine has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment - a perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in Morzine and Avoriaz, plus two summer sledging runs. The Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages.

Other activities include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing, kayaking and hiking. Don’t forget to visit the nearby village of Montriond, for lakeside walks and the beautiful Brochaux waterfalls.

The traditional areas of Morzine, Montriond and the neighbouring resort of Avoriaz offer plenty of variety for a holiday, whatever the time of year, but if you venture a little further, there’s plenty more to discover.

The Portes du Soleil resorts cross the border into Switzerland, giving you two countries and two cultures to discover. It’s just over an hour’s drive to Lake Geneva, where you can explore lakeside resorts the pretty spa town of Evian-les-Bains, or the beautiful medieval village of Yvoire. You can also cruise to other lakeside towns such as Lausanne and Montreux.

In Chamonix, just an hour’s drive away, enjoy a ride on the second-largest cable car in the world, and take in the spectacular views from Mont Blanc. Geneva airport is just an hour away from Chalet La Moutelette, making it the perfect destination for shorts breaks, whatever the time of year.
