Overview
This is quite a find - a large chalet in a quiet residential area close to the centre of Morzine with huge garden - it's got the lot! Chalet Lolana was the owner's family home until his children grew up and moved out. Now it has been refurbished to a very high standard as a summer holiday home.
Chalet Lolana is in a quiet residential street just 650m from the mountain lifts and the centre of the resort, and just 170m from the bus stop, so a car is not essential. It's a great location for a summer holiday, with mountain and lakeside walks as well as mountain biking, climbing and much more. The chalet has been totally refurbished, to the same high standard as the owner's other chalet in Morzine, Chalet SoChic.
About the property
Sleeping 17 people (14 adults) in seven bedrooms over three floors, Chalet Lolana is definitely a crowd-pleaser.
The main living area is on the ground floor - there's a huge seating area around a large stone fireplace and a large dining area which opens on to the well-equipped kitchen. There are also doors on to the terrace and the secluded garden The side garden is big enough for a game of football, leaving those who’d rather relax to enjoy the hot tub on the sun-drenched terrace.
There are three bedrooms on this floor - two en suite twin rooms and a double bedroom. There's also a separate bathroom and a guest toilet.
On the lower ground floor there's a useful family suite with a double bed and bunk beds as well as a kitchenette and an en suite bathroom. Opening on to the garden, it's a great area for a family with young children who would like their own space.
The three remaining bedrooms are on the upper floor. There is a triple room with three single beds and an en suite shower room, and another room with a double and a single bed, as well as a bathroom and separate toilet. There is also a single bedroom off a useful mezzanine seating area which has a pool table, perfect for teenagers to get together in the evenings.
About the area
Summer in the French Alps is all about nature and the great outdoors - walking, cycling and thrill-seeking!
The lifts keep running through the summer, so hikers can enjoy high altitude trails and stunning views, while mountain bikers can take the easy way up and save their energy for a high-adrenaline descent.
Morzine has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment, so it's the perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in Morzine and Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledging runs. The Indiana Adventure park, just a short walk away, has a range of rope courses to suit all ages, and other activities in the area include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing, kayaking and hiking.
Small children will love to visit the village of Les Lindarets, where goats wander freely - it's a great place to stop for lunch too. You can also take advantage of the Portes du Soleil Multi Pass, offering unrestricted access to the full range of family activities, at an exclusive rate of 2€.
Morzine and the neighbouring resorts of Les Gets and Avoriaz offer plenty of variety for a summer holiday, but if you venture a little further, there's plenty more to discover.
The Portes du Soleil resorts cross the border with Switzerland, giving you two countries and two cultures to experience, and the pretty spa town of Evian-les-Bains, on the banks of lake Geneva, is a great destination for a day out. From there, you can take a boat to other lakeside towns such as Lausanne and Montreux.
In Chamonix, just an hour's drive away, you can take a ride on the second-largest cable car in the world, and take in the spectacular views from Mont Blanc. In summer, the breath-taking drive over the mountains to Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, one of the most beautiful villages in France, is worth a day trip.
Geneva airport is just an hour away from Chalet Lolana, making it easily accessible for a short break or a longer stay.

“The chalet is beautiful and situated in a great location within Morzine”
We had such a wonderful stay at Chalet Lolana and Morzine, we wish we could have stayed longer! The chalet is beautiful and situated in a great location within Morzine. We would definitely return to Morzine and would love to stay at Chalet Lolana if we travel in a large group again. We stayed in summer and would love to return in the ski season sometime in the future. We would highly recommend Chalet Lolana and My Home. The booking process was very easy. We had a small problem with email communication but this was soon resolved and we were emailed a full information pack several weeks ahead of our stay at Chalet Lolana. Communication with My Home during our stay was excellent. All questions were answered promptly and any requests were dealt with very quickly, for example there were a few items missing for cleaning but these were delivered to us as soon as asked for them. The location has lovely views of the surrounding mountains & it is situated within easy walking distance of local shops, restaurants & bars. The chalet itself is beautifully set out with a large dining and seating area. All the bedrooms have lovely en-suites. We were very impressed with Morzine. There is so much to do. We loved the mountain and river walks. We went white water rafting which was great fun. The multi pass was well worth the small charge to be able to use the chairlifts, busses & swimming pool and so much more. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. We were staying in at the time of the Tour de France and the whole of Morzine was beautifully decorated. Thank you.
