This beautiful chalet for 15 people is tucked away on a quiet road in the hamlet of Grand Marvel, less than 2.8km from Morillon, and just 7.5km from the picturesque ski village of Samoens in the stunning Giffre valley.
Nature is all around you at Chalet Vivaldaim, which is situated next to a babbling stream on the edge of a forest. Whether you're relaxing in the covered outdoor seating area, soaking in the nordic bath, catching some sun or enjoying the view from the barrel sauna, you'll be enchanted by the birdsong and perhaps a glimpse of visiting deer.
There's plenty for kids too, with a slide down to the lower terrace.
In the winter, ski lifts from Morillon and Samoens will connect you to the Grand Massif resorts of Flaines, Sixt and Les Carroz. In the summer, you can enjoy great walking, hiking and biking as well as white watersports on the Giffre river.
There are a few shops, including a popular bakery, in Morillon and a greater selection in Samoens, but if you're looking for local produce, you can buy it straight from the farm just 500m from Chalet Vivaldaim.
About the property ...
The bright and spacious accommodation at Chalet Vivaldaim is set over three floors. As you enter on the ground floor, you'll find a spacious ski and bike room with boot and glove warmers, comfortable benches, bike storage and a washing machine and tumble dryer.
There are also three bedrooms on this floor - a double with en suite shower and bath and two double rooms with en suite shower rooms. There's also a useful living area with a TV, games console and kitchenette - a great space for older children to hang out, watch a film and perhaps grab some snacks and drinks.
The main living area is on the next floor. Here, cosy sofas and chairs are arranged around a fireplace and TV in the impressive double-height seating area. Doors open from here on to a wonderful covered balcony, which is furnished with more sofas - a wonderful place to relax and watch the sunset in the evenings. There are steps - a slide and pedal go-karts!! - down to the lower terrace, where you'll find the barrel sauna, the nordic bath and a sun deck.
The spacious kitchen has everything you need to cook for a crowd, and there's plenty of room to eat together at the large dining table, which looks out on to the terrace and the view beyond.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Vivaldaim is a three-storey chalet for up to 15 guests, with seven en suite bedrooms. We love the quiet location on the edge of a forest and bordered by a stream, and with a large garden complete with a slide, it's a great choice for families.
Children of all ages will appreciate the games room on the ground floor, which has its own kitchen - they can help themselves to snacks and drinks, and teenagers can even cook up a pizza for their own film night.
The individually-designed bedrooms all have their own bathrooms and are spread over three floors - if you are a group of several families you could take a floor each, or alternatively, you could have an adult/children divide!
The main living area is bright and spacious, and the well-equipped kitchen even has a steam oven. The outside seating area is a great place to enjoy some fresh air - it's shady in the summer and sheltered in the winter, when you can take out blankets and enjoy sitting under the stars.
The owners of the chalet have converted the small chalet next to the property, which they are keeping for their own use but the properties are totally separate and there are plans to separate the gardens in the future, so you will have your privacy.

From the owner
Bérengère & Guillaume
Jeanne, Gabin and I fell in love with this cosy traditional chalet on the edge of the Bérengère woods - for us, this place reflected so much beauty. Combining simplicity, authenticity, warmth and light, we designed this space to capture the serenity that we found on that first visit.
This old farm, which has been here for over a century, has now become a chalet, thanks to extensive renovation and design work by the former owners. Built with huge beams of burnished wood set on stone, this chalet and its neighbours embody the remarkable character of the Grand Marvel hamlet.
On the edge of the woods, sitting on the terrace, in the Nordic hot tub or in the sauna, all your senses are alive to the nature that surrounds you - the gentle babbling of the stream, the rustling of the leaves on the trees, the birdsong, the branches that bend and deflect the sunlight...
We welcome you to our home in the way that we Northerners know how, but also in the spirit of the people of this part of the Giffre valley, whose kindness will delight you.
And if, in the first light of dawn, when everyone else is asleep, you turn your eyes to the edge of the woods, with a bit of luck you might see the deer after which the chalet is named ...
