A huge L-shaped sofa is the perfect place to gather at the end of a busy day, and the dining table is sure to be the scene of some great sociable meals. This cosy timber-clad room has two sets of patio doors which open on to the hot tub terrace and the large garden - great for barbecues in the summer and a bit of star-gazing on clear winter nights.

About the area ...

Snowfall is regular and abundant, and there are three jam parks for freestylers.
There are restaurants and shops in Morillon, and a greater choice in Samoens, which has a delightful square where you can enjoy a long lazy lunch in the summer, or just grab a coffee and watch the world go by. Many skiers also stop in Samoens for lunch, before heading back up into the mountains.
In the summer, there's great hiking and biking in the mountains, as well as watersports on the Giffre river. The Lac Bleu leisure area, an easy walk from Chalet des Hottes, is a great day out for families - there's a beach area for swimming as well as horse-riding, treetop adventure area, Segway, electric skateboards and much more. Youngsters can enjoy the pump track, play areas, inflatables and trampolines, and trout fishing is free for those staying in the area.
The village of Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, less than 20 minutes drive away, is also worth a visit - one of the most beautiful villages in France, it's set in a natural amphitheatre of high limestone cliffs. It's also the start of some great white-water rafting and home to a via ferrata course.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet des Hottes is a three-storey chalet with a basement sauna, six bedrooms and four bathrooms in the delightful village of Verchaix, near Samoens.
It's a modern chalet which has been beautifully renovated by its current owners, providing a high level of comfort. We love the spacious sauna, and the hot tub the sunny terrace, as well as the fact that there are two separate living areas - these can be used by family groups or perhaps you'd prefer to keep one for the children and one for the adults!
The six bedrooms are well distributed across two floors, with a family suite with its own shower room under the eaves. Four more bedrooms are on the first floor - two doubles which share a shower room, a master suite with a dressing room and en suite shower and a bunk room for four with its own shower room.
The garden is large, flat and enclosed, making it perfect for children to play safely, while adults supervise from the hot tub or the sunny furnished terrace.
Verchaix is a beautifully tranquil village, with more facilities available just a short walk across the river in Morillon. The chalet is set on the main road, making access easy, and traffic noise is not noticeable inside the chalet.
If you'd rather not drive while you are here, a bus stops outside the chalet, connecting you with Morillon and Samoens.

From the owner
Julian & Joelle C.
My wife “Joelle” and I first visited the beautiful Verchaix and Samoen’s area with our two boys some years back. The whole area offered the perfect place to spend time with family and friends.
It didn’t take long for us to decide that we wanted to spend more time to explore the area and enjoy more fun packed adventures.
This area has so much for people of all ages to do in both the summer and colder winter months.
As keen outdoorsy people we decided to find a place to renovate and call it our own. In August 2019 we purchased this old railway station house and set about trying to bring it back to life.
Eventually we finished our renovation in 2021 and started to enjoy many more family holidays.
We have renovated the property and garden to a very high standard and also fully internally wrapped the building and have provided underfloor heating to ensure its also warm and have fitted it with all new furniture and all mod cons.
We hope all our guests love staying there as much as we do.
Julian and Joelle x.
