The road to Chalet Manoe is cleared of snow by the Manigod commune.
Please note that the private drive leading to Chalet Manoe is about 600m long. If you have a 4WD vehicle with snow tyres, you will have no problems at all. If not, we have a seven-seater 4WD vehicle for the use of winter guests which has snow tyres so that you don't need to put on and remove snow chains every time you go out. The vehicle also has a roof rack for your skis. If you wish to use this vehicle only to drive from the main road to the chalet, there will be no extra charge apart from a damage deposit of 2000 euros. If you wish to use this vehicle for longer trips (i.e. to drive to the resort etc), please contact the owners directly for more information after you have made the booking.
The pool is available from May to mid-September.
The deposit for the vehicle can be paid on your arrival by French cheque or by Paypal before you arrive.
In all cases, whether or not your own vehicle has four-wheel drive, we strongly recommend that you bring snow chains and ensure that your vehicle is properly equipped for driving in snowy weather in the Alps.
Please note that this service is not part of your OVO holiday booking and that OVO takes no responsibility for it.
The pool is available from the end of May to September

About Chalet Manoe ...
Tucked away at the end of the beautiful Manigod valley in Comburce, Chalet Manoe promises complete seclusion, whatever time of year you choose to visit.
This and the breathtaking views of Etale, Mont Charvin, Val Sulens and Tournette are what sold this property to the owners, who then spent a year creating the comfortable and stylish home that it is today.
In winter this idyllic location calls for snow tyres and chains, although the road to the chalet is cleared of snow every day. A 4wd vehicle will also be available for you to drive around in winter (an additional security deposit will be required). There's parking for three cars.
This south-facing chalet has a sunny garden and terrace with a pool and funky "bubble" sauna, and in the summer, it's a great base for walkers and bikers who want to explore the mountains.
It's so quiet, it's sometimes hard to believe it's just 4km to the village of Manigod, where you will find a bakery, as well as a restaurant, and only an hour from Geneva airport.
The property ...
The traditional look of this lovely chalet hides a sleek and stylish interior that is the perfect base for a carefree mountain holiday.
With accommodation set over four floors, it sleeps up to 12 (maximum 8 adults) in three double bedrooms and a fabulous children's room, with three single "drawer" beds each of which transforms into a double bed.
There's a ski store with electric boot warmer and a wet room on the ground floor and three double bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor.
The main living area is on the second floor, where you'll find a large open plan area with a sleek kitchen, dining area and leather sofas around a large open fire.
Either side of the fireplace are patio doors which open on to the balcony - it's the perfect place to enjoy the fabulous views in the summer. In the winter, retreat to the cosy living area on the mezzanine in the eaves of the property and enjoy a drink with friends, or relax on the cosy sofas in front of the flat screen television.
About the area ...
When you stay at Chalet Manoe, you'll feel like you're a million miles from the hustle and bustle of larger ski resorts. In fact, you're just a short drive from the glistening pistes at La Croix Fry and La Clusaz.
Parking in La Croix Fry and Merdassier is free and plentiful. You can ski the whole of the Aravis ski area on one ski pass - 220km of perfect pistes linked by pistes and ski buses. Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails on the Beauregard plateau, and there's plenty to keep non-skiers busy too. Choose from sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides, or let your tensions float away in the beautiful heated outdoor/indoor swimming pool complex at La Clusaz, as the snow falls around you.
Back at Chalet Manoe, the sauna is the perfect place to chill out after all that action!
The summer months are a great time to appreciate the tranquility of Chalet Manoe.
Sitting out in the garden, or perhaps enjoying a dip in the pool, all you can hear are birds singing and cowbells tinkling. But if you're looking for adventure, you'll be spoiled for choice in the beautiful Aravis mountains. Pack a picnic and enjoy walks from the door, or take the ski lift up into the mountains before walking or cycling back down.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting within a few miles of the chalet. For a family day out, try one or both of the Adventure Parks at Thônes or Talloires where you can experience the thrill of climbing on graded courses amongst the treetops whilst receiving information and training about security and having the support of trained guides.
Or take the next step, and have a go at via ferrata, a cross between hiking and climbing, where even children can safely explore the mountains via permanent routes built into the rock faces with cables, ladders and bridges to make sure you are always safe. There are via ferrata courses for a variety of ability levels at Thones, La Clusaz, and Chinaillon.
A day trip to medieval Annecy is a must. Set on the edge of the cleanest lake in Europe, this beautiful city has a good selection of unique shops, restaurants and galleries, as well as a wide range of water sports.
The less energetic might prefer to just people-watch from the beaches which encircle the Lake, enjoy a round of golf or hire a boat and explore the pretty lakeside villages.
If you think the splendid seclusion of Chalet Manoe would be the perfect choice for your mountain holiday, check your dates against our calendar. If they are free, we will hold them for you for 24 hours while you make your plans. But make sure to finallise your booking in time - the great facilities at Chalet Manoe make it a popular choice with OVO Network guests.

The calm of the authentic farming village of Manigod offers a welcome change of pace to our everyday lives...
“We were absolutely dazzled by the beauty of the Aravis region when we first came across it, in particular the sight of the Manigod Valley. We knew Chalet Manoe was the perfect chalet for us with it's unique location and sublime views across to the Val Sulens mountain and the impressive Tournette range, it just felt so right.
Every time we walk or climb any of the local mountains we think about the amazing opportunity being here affords our children, and hopefully in years to come our grand children. Being able to share these views and experiences with family and friends, gives us such pleasure. We really wanted to find a place from where we could offer a warm welcome to all who visit here, sharing the peace and tranquility of the location, and the calm beauty of the surroundings from the comfort of a great chalet, from where your friends and family will be able to create some great shared memories.
We were also really impressed with the fact that because of the proximity to the ski resort of La Clusaz, visitors of all abilities can have an extensive and challenging ski experience too! The calm of the authentic farming village of Manigod offers a welcome change of pace to our everyday lives, a tranquility which has become both precious and indispensable. The activities available throughout the local resorts from lessons with the ESF ski club, to the frequently arranged Paret Championships (the Paret is a local made sledge unique to this area with a single central runner) keep everyone happy no matter what their age or interests.
The proximity to La Clusaz and Lake Annecy mean that it is always possible to find something interesting and enjoyable to do all year round. We thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the interior design of the property and feel we have created a unique atmosphere; a mountain chalet with a touch of contemporary luxury worthy of this beautiful chalet We hope you profit from staying in this fabulous location and enjoy the undeniable comfort of the interior of the property. We sincerely wish that you and your family will experience some unforgettable moments, in the same way that we do each time we stay here ourselves. Best wishes,
Céline and Thierry ROCHE
“Recommended without reservation”
We rented this chalet for the week of the Annecy marathon, and we were amazed by the level of facilities. All the detailed information on the website was accurate. And what can we say about that view - from the balcony there is a exceptional 270 degree view of the Manigod valley and the Aravis cols, without being overlooked. Chalet Manoe really offers a high-end welcome. For runners, the chalet is just 500m from the start of the Manigod KV (vertical kilometre). Special thanks to Isabelle for her welcome and her advice.

“A great welcome”
The location and the views are superb. The owner is very helpful if needed. We had a great stay.

“Ideal for holidays away from it all”
The chalet is very practical and well equipped.
Christine C. - 23/02/2019
Our stay at Chalet Manoe was great! The Chalet is beautiful and nicely decorated and we had a lovely family Christmas with grandparents and children. The view is just gorgeous and the chalet is beautifully situated in a lovely isolated spot. There are walks directly from the chalet that can be done with children and shopping is relatively easy when the roads are clear. Access to Manigod Ski Station is easy and only 15-20 minutes away.
It is a spacious and very comfortable chalet - the open kitchen and the big dining table lend to social cooking, which was fun and everyone could be part of it. The upstairs den was very comfortable with big sofas and a little kiddies' corner to just hang out and play. It was perfect that the bedrooms were all downstairs, so if people wanted to be undisturbed, this could be easily done.
Manigod Valley is just beautiful.
We can recommend staying in Chalet Manoe.

“A fabulous Christmas”
We spent Christmas at Chalet Manoe, and it was fabulous. The chalet is well equipped, spacious and has surroundings to die for.
The drive up the lane can be a little difficult in the snow but once the neighbours have been out with the JCB, it is much easier. The underfloor heating makes you feel cozy and the log fire just makes you feel relaxed and warm. This is the perfect place to unwind and it is close enough to the village/skiing to be able to get the most out of your holiday. The communication with the host is perfect and the neighbours are very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great holiday.

“Good family holiday in this huge well-equipped chalet”
The access road is tricky for the las 500 metres, but it's worth the effort: a breathtaking view; peace and quiet; great facilities; great decor and a superb terrace. And the bonus is the walking and skiing in the area!
Marie Christine B. - 04/03/2017
Although there was no snow with only 4 or 5 slopes open in the ski area of La Clusaz, we had a beautiful week at Chalet Manoe. We were impressed by the tasteful furnishing and the peferct equipped kitchen. The service was perfect too, up to bathrobes, shoes and towels for the sauna. The sauna is a real highlight. We enjoyed the view through the large window to the beautiful landscape and the starlit sky every day. And, last but not least, the chalet is perfectly located in absolute quietness but still not too far away from the next village.

“We enjoyed our stay at Chalet Manoe very much! ”
The chalet is really beautiful and we had also much luck with the weather in September as well.
Martin K. - 17/09/2016
“A very pleasant family holiday”
A very comfortable chalet which is big enough for everyone to find their own space. The older children loved the mezzanine, the sauna and the swimming pool. Access seemed difficult when we arrived, but we got used to it as the days went on. The countryside is magnificent and we loved exploring Annecy, Chamonix and Mont Blanc. "
“No hesitation in recommending it”
We spend a lovely weeek in Chalet Manoe, two families (four adults and four children). We loved the swimming pool, the view, the sauna and the terrace. The chalet is modern and spacious, well equipped and clean. We have no hesitation in recommending it for a peaceful holiday.
Olivier G. - 09/07/2016
“It's paradise on earth”
A very tastefully decorated chalet with every comfort. The chalet is in a wonderful location - in brief, it's paradise on earth. The view, the peace and the comfort all delighted us. The books and DVDs provided were great, and we loved the bath towels and robes and the kitchen equipment.
Marina R. - 25/06/2016
“Great relaxing week”
A fantastic chalet in a beautiful location - its just a shame it rained so much. That said the chalet was well equipped with wifi, tv, music and games so we had a great relaxing week, despite the weather !
Justin E. - 28/05/2016
“To be repeated! ”
A really great holiday. For those who love the mountains: peace and quiet, panoramic views, it's paradise for cross-country skiers and snowshoers. A magnificent chalet renovated with taste.
Bruno M. - 23/01/2016
It was so beautiful from the beginning on. We loved the nature around the chalet and we loved the chalet that much, that we didn't want to leave. It was just perfect and we will come back for sure!!
Alicja W. - 05/09/2015
“The view has captured us...”
From the moment we arrived at your chalet the view has captured and mesmerised us. A truly stunning location in a beautiful valley which we wish we had more time to explore. We enjoyed the climb up the top of Merdassier and all the wonderful walks up from the end of your valley finished off with cold mountain river splash - what a perfect day. Your musical cows must also get a special mention - now recorded and going on mobile as a ringtone. The sun deck, pool and sauna was enjoyed by us all. We can just imagine the sauna in deep snow! We enjoyed also our walk down memory lane from 30 years ago around Lake Annecy! Thank you for all your recommendations...
Carolyn J. - 22/08/2015
“An amazing view over the Aravis range”
This chalet is in a magnificent area of the Aravis mountains, views of which we enjoyed every morning over breakfast. As for the property itself, it is tastefully decorated and equipped to a high standard. It's worth pointing out that the house has four storeys, which could be problematic for those with limited mobility. The children enjoyed the top floor where they had their own space with board games, books and a television. The small swimming pool is lovely - great for the children and for a refreshing dip. The sauna has a stunning view, although we didn't use it much because the weather was so good! In conclusion, this is a really beautiful chalet where you can relax and discover a lovely area with a variety of walks which are easily accessible from the chalet or nearby.
Sabrina R. - 01/08/2015
This chalet is nestled at the top of a rocky path. It provided us with an amazing stay. The comfort, the light, the warm welcome, the lovely places to snuggle up... we loved everything. And we can't forget to talk about the breathtaking view over the mountain... Ravishing! Thanks again to Thierry and Céline for taking such good care of their guests.
Nadège B. - 18/07/2015
“What a wonderful location...”
An extraordinary place, with very impressing snow conditions all week long. We enjoyed spotting the birds of prey and passing deers. The whole family has benefited from this peaceful environment.
Cécile F. - 21/02/2015
We spent a great holiday in this superbly located chalet. The views from the terrace are perfect for relaxation and contemplation. The beautiful weather was an added bonus: we enjoyed pedalo rides, walking in the mountains, swimming and visiting castles. We highly recommend your chalet/

“So much pleasure”
We enjoyed a family holiday to celebrate the baptism of our little Augustin. We got so much pleasure from the reunion, the magnificent panorama, and the refined elegance of our temporary home. Many thanks to our hosts for their planning and interior choices - it was these details which made us feel so welcome. We will take fond memories away to Paris, to Strasbourg, to Lille and elsewhere.
Cyrille B. - 11/07/2014
“Fantastic and peaceful environment”
Despite the mixed weather we were able to enjoy panoramic view from your new terrace. The "vintage" decor was lovely to come back to after wonderful walks from the chalet itself
Yves C. - 29/06/2014
“We loved it!”
Magnificent views, complete calm, very comfortable and a very cosy decor, Chalet Manoe was simply enchanting. We came to recharge our batteries far from the hustle and bustle of the city and we left having fallen in love with this lovely region. A big thank you to Thierry and Sophie for the care they brought to the management of the chalet as well as for the attention to detail on our arrival - the fire was lit and there was a delicious Reblochon cheese and a regional bottle of wine. Our best wishes for the future and we'll see you soon!
Martine E. - 30/04/2014
“Total change of scenery!”
We wanted to let you know that we spent an un unforgettable week in your superb chalet. The whole family loved it so much, for its comfort, its equipment and also for the magnificent panorama surrounding it. We were lucky enough to spot deer during our stay here. In a few words: a total change of scenery for us all!
We also want to say thanks for your warm welcome and the bonus of having a roaring fire awaiting us on arrival, as well as a lovely bunch of flowers.
Axel G. - 22/02/2014
“A lovely ski resort and a fantastic chalet”
We had a really nice stay in this comfortable and spacious chalet. It's very warm thanks to its beautiful and efficient fireplace, and the interior decoration is very tasteful. We discovered Manigod, a friendly little resort where adults and children had a lot of fun on the pistes. We laughed a lot trying the "Paret", a type of wooden sledge invented centuries ago in the very same village! Big thanks to the charming owners for their warm welcome.
Béatrice L. - 08/02/2014
“Spacious, comfortable, design and calm... ”
With your family or your friends, around the big fireplace or on the terrace, to ski, hike or be lazy... there is everything here to spend a quality stay in the Alps. Spacious, comfortable, design and quiet... You'll feel alone in the world in the heart of authentic and preserved landscapes, only 10 minutes away from the villages and ski lifts. Once you know this place you'll never want to go anywhere else!
Isabelle G. - 13/07/2013
Set in one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys, the village of Manigod is a mountain secret that is a delight to discover. With its own ski area linking into the famed La Clusaz ski resort, Manigod offers fabulous skiing in winter and world class cycling in the summer.
Beautiful chalets are dotted around the mountains, restaurants range from local auberges to Michelin starred, and you can buy locally made pottery and cheeses fresh from the farm.
