About Chalet de Paul et Marie ...
Chalet de Paul et Marie is one of a pair of newly-renovated 4-star semi-detached chalets close to the charming village of Manigod and just 1km from some great skiing at Croix Fry.
Set over three levels, it is ideal for families wishing to holiday together. Larger groups can also be accommodated by renting Chalet de Paul et Marie with the next door Chalet Lydie - together the two properties sleep up to 16 people comfortably.
Chalet Lydie has a large living area to accomodate everyone, and an extending table where larger groups can eat together. Access between the chalets is via the balcony off the main area - convenient for groups but if you only want to book one of the chalets, the access can be locked off and your privacy guaranteed.
The views from this south-facing chalet are incredible - from your terrace you can admire the stunning Aravis valley, framed by Etale, Sulens and Mont Charvin.
Note : during winter season please make sure to have snow tires and chains for your vehicles, since the access to the chalet is rather steep.
The property ...
Despite its traditional appearance from outside, Chalet de Paul et Marie's stunning contemporary interior is designed to make the most of the mountain views and light. Bleached woods and neutral tones perfectly complement faux fur and wool textiles and splashes of colour.
The property is set over two floors with access to a basement where you can store ski equipment or bikes.
The spacious open-plan living area is on the ground floor, with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. A large corner sofa and pouffes provide the perfect place to watch television or gather around the log burner, and sliding double doors open on to the balcony, which overlooks the valley. There's a double bedroom on this floor, as well as a toilet and a bathroom.
There are three more bedrooms upstairs, all of which have double beds or ziplink beds which can be made into twins. The two bedrooms at the front of the property open on to a balcony - the perfect place for your first morning coffee! There is a second bathroom and wc on this floor.
About the area ...
Skiers and boarders will love Chalet de Paul et Marie, which is just a few minutes’ drive from the lifts at Croix Fry. If you’d rather not take the car out, the ski bus stops just 350m from your door.
There’s an ESF ski school base at Croix Fry, where beginners can find their feet on the gentle nursery slopes. Those with more experience can ski here or explore the 220km of pistes between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, which are all covered by the Aravis ski pass. Competent skiers can even ski back to the chalet!
There are plenty of trails for cross-country skiers on the nearby Beauregard plateau, where you an also enjoy snow shoe trails, with views across to Mont Blanc.
If there are non-skiers in your party, they can enjoy heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools at La Clusaz as well as an ice-skating rink and cinema. You could also try dog-sledding, sleigh rides or the local specialty - paret sledging!
You’ll never be stuck for something to do in the Aravis valley in the summer.
There’s no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau, the scene of the Resistance’s campaign against the German army in World War II. The ski lifts will take walkers or cyclists and their bikes up the mountains, so they can come down at their own pace, and adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting within a few miles of Manigod.
Via ferrata is another great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains secured to a harness. You’ll have plenty of experiences to share back at the chalet, perhaps over a beer and a barbecue on the terrace as the sun sets.
What next?
If you'd like to spend your next mountain holiday at Chalet de Paul et Marie, check the available dates on our calendar. If you need to check with the rest of your party we can hold the property for 24 hours. But don't wait any longer than that - we'd hate you to miss out on a great holiday!

The OVO Network Review
“Nature lovers, winter sports enthusiasts, summer guests, and families with young children will be happy...”
Chalet Paul et Marie is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom property for 8 with100m2 of floor space spread over 3 floors.
Larger groups of up to 16 can hire this recently renovated semi-detached chalet with it's sister chalet, Chalet Lydie. Combined the two 4 star properties have 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 200m2 of floor space.
Both Chalet Paul et Marie and Chalet Lydie have Cool for kids status, meaning they have lots of extra equipment, much appreciated by families holidaying with young children. Guests staying in both chalets love the decor, layout, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and new bathrooms.
The owners put a great deal of thought, effort, care and attention into providing all that their guests might require to enjoy a peaceful, calm holiday.
Nature lovers will be happy - the chalet overlooks a meadow below and is surrounded by trees and mountains, with walks from the front door, wildlife over the threshold and spectacular Alpine views.
Winter sports enthusiasts will be happy as the property is less than 1km away form the ski fields at La Croix Fry, with great ski links to La Clusaz. In fact when snow conditions are favourable, guests with the will and skill to try, can, in theory snow shoe, sledge or ski back to the chalet.
Off piste and at their own risk of course!
Summer guests will be happy too - they can enjoy and appreciate the walking, cycling, wild life, flora and fauna spotting and via ferrata opportunities.
The chalet is a drive way from the nearest supermarket so stock up either in Thones (or Merdassier in season), before heading up to the chalet. There are several restaurants close by, and the local baker offers fresh bread deliveries.
If you are planning a winter stay at Chalet Paul et Marie or Chalet Lydie, remember snow doesn't only fall on the pistes, it also falls on the roads and drives! Don't get caught out by arriving in a car which is not properly equipped for Alpine winter road conditions. The drive down to the chalet from the main road has been tarmaced to enable easier and more efficient snow clearing.
Chalet Paul et Marie welcomes pets, so the dog or cat can also enjoy the full on moiuntain experience too!
Enjoy!

From the owner
We love the peace and freedom of this chalet in the heart of nature
“ My grandmother Lydie inherited this chalet from her parents Louise and Constant.
After she retired, she loved spending every summer in the chalet, from June to mid-October, although it wasn't terribly comfortable. She came with her husband André, who was also born in Manigod.
My parents brought her groceries and supplies at weekends and I often spent my summer holidays here with my grandparents and my cousins.
When I married Paul, he also fell in love with the place. He enjoyed renovating the place with local craftsmen, bringing it up to a high level of comfort.
Along with our two daughters, Céline and Aurélie, we spent our holidays here with family and friends, and they have kept the tradition up.
We love the peace and freedom of this chalet in the heart of nature, surrounded by mountains. We hope you will also have some wonderful moments here.

“A haven of peace in a little corner of paradise”
Le chalet de Paul et Marie is a haven of peace in a little corner of paradise. All the comforts of home in the heart of nature. We particularly appreciated the magnificent view of the Aravis mountain range, the comfort of the chalet, the numerous hiking trails just a few minutes away, the possibility of using the wood-burning stove, the little history of the place with all the instructions and finally the local products left for us were excellent. The week's vacation went by too quickly and it was hard to leave. We'd love to come back if we can some winter.

“We hope to return soon!”
Superb chalet, comfortable and well equipped. Good location, with a magnificent view, and quiet. Close to the Col de Croix Fry it was perfect. We had a visit from deer! We are very happy with our stay and hope to return soon!

“Honestly, everything is perfect. Don't change a thing!”
This was our second stay and we will be back! The view from the chalet is really splendid, whatever the weather. Honestly, everything is perfect. Don't change a thing!

“Pure bliss”
We were welcomed by Sophie, who was smiling and pleasant. The wooden chalet is located in the middle of nature. In front of it, a large green space, without any road, very safe: the children can play without danger. They loved the jokari game. We had brought 2 dogs, which was a treat for them as well as for us: they were able to roam around as they pleased! The decoration is sober and in the mountain theme (wood, sheep skins...). We felt at home here. And the view from the balcony is magnificent!
— Grégoire D. Apr 2022
“Great location with wonderful views”
The location of the chalet is exceptional and the perfect value for money for the season, close to the ski slopes and La Clusaz. The chalet is magnificent, we really loved the traditional alpine style, the services were simply worthy of a 4-star hotel. Our host, Sophie, was available before and upon arrival, she was able to find parking solutions quickly due to the weather conditions. For us, everything corresponded to our expectations, we were really comfortable from the moment we arrived. Nothing negative to say at all. The welcome gift delighted our taste buds, thank you again Sophie and OVO Network for an unforgettable holiday.

“Terrific view!”
It's a very nice chalet. The most impressing was the view, really grand. The chalet Paul & Marie is very nicely furnished. Enough tableware. First class bathrooms.
— Danielle D. Mar 2022
“Very charming”
The Paul et Marie property is a superb chalet with magnificent views. We spent a sunny week in a chalet well located in the south! The sun came inside all week and the nearby shuttle at the end of the path was very convenient. Moreover, because of the location of the chalet, we are cut off from the world both for noise and visually... What happiness!
— Françoise J. Jan 2022
“Exceptionnel views and location”
We had an marvellous stay at the chalet this winter. We loved seeing the children playing in the snow, sledding and enjoying the exceptional surroundings. We will be back very soon.
— Marc H. Dec 2021
“Everything was perfect, thank you Sophie!”
Very well organised stay, immediate response and secure payment. Sophie is a great manager! She takes care of her rental very well. When you arrive you always find that everything is impeccable. We are always under the impression we are the first guests to stay in the property. Thank you for the welcome gift. The location of the chalet is really ideal with sun all day and a magnificent view.
— Leopoldine P. Oct 2021
“Superb rental with great views”
Everything is impeccable in this chalet: cleanliness, comfort, equipment (whether in kitchen utensils, dishes, linen and towels). The information before our arrival is very complete, the welcome by Sophie very professional. It was beyond what we expected, with the added bonus of a magnificent view, snow and sun ... Bread and croissants delivered to the chalet: that was very enjoyable! You can even have meals delivered to the door if you want. ... For sure, it is a beautiful chalet, affordable, with all the comfort, an amazing view, and the immediate proximity of the lifts. If on top of this the owners are planning to add a hot tub...
— Gérard C. Mar 2021
“Comfortable chalet, and 5 star service”
Very welcoming, comfortable, spacious and very well equipped chalet. Everything has been designed for the pleasure and comfort of the guests. Ideally located to rest and enjoy the magnificent view of the snow-capped mountain. Often there is a gap between the photos on a website and the real thing, but in this case, it was the reality! The whole chalet was clean and tidy. Sophie the manager was great. Very helpful, attentive, she explained everything to us. She undeniably has a sense of service both on arrival and on departure. We had to leave at 6:30 am, and she was present, helped us to remove snow and even intervened to get the snowplow to pass on the way to the chalet. Without it, we couldn't leave. A huge thank you to her.

“We will be back!”
A spacious chalet, which is modern and very clean, with an extraordinary view of the valley. A surprise was waiting for us when we arrived - a lovely bag with local organic jam, red wine and pâté. The view from the chalet is really unbelievable, and it's very peaceful. It's great being close to the ski station at Manigod, and the Balme area is a freeride paradise. Snow chains are strongly recommended in snowy weather. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

A comfortable semi-detached chalet which has been beautifully designed at the end of a sloping drive, ideal for holidays with two dogs and our family. Thanks to Sophie for her welcome, the services and her helpfulness. Chains highly recommended in this breathtaking area!
