Chalet Kouzya ...
This beautifully-renovated chalet for eight is in the popular mountain resort of Les Gets, part of the vast Portes du Soleil ski domain.
Less than 1km from the pistes as well as all the bars, shops and restaurants of this charming village, Chalet Kouzya is close to all comodities. The Mountain E-Park, where you can snowmobile in winter or ride electric motorbikes in summer is less than 1km away, as is the Boarder Cross area.
In the summer you're just a short walk from the Lac des Ecoles, where you can swim, enjoy the inflatable obstacle course, trampolines and beach volleyball. There is also a whole range of hiking and biking trails - pick up a guide from the tourist office.
And when you return to Chalet Kouzya at the end of an active day, you can relax on the balcony or the terrace with a drink and admire the views over Mont Chéry.
About the property ...
Chalet Kouzya sleeps eight guests in four en-suite bedrooms over three floors.
As you enter on the ground floor, you'll find the garage on your right - this is equipped as a ski room with a heated boot rack, but there's still plenty of storage room for bikes and other equipment, or a small car. There's also a laundry room on this floor as well as a bedroom with a large double bed (160cm) and an en suite shower room.
The stairs take you up to the open-plan living area on the first floor. With doors to the balcony at the front, and a terrace and garden at the back, this area is light and bright. There's a cosy L-shaped sofa and chairs in front of the TV and a dining table big enough for everyone to sit down for dinner together. The modern, well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven and induction hob, as well as microwave and dishwasher. You'll also find everything you need to enjoy an Alpine feast, such as a raclette machine and a fondue set.
You might like to take your coffee out on to the balcony, to enjoy some fresh air and the views over the village.
There's another bedroom on this floor - it has a large double bed (160cm) and an en suite bathroom with WC. There are two more bedrooms on the top floor - a double room and a twin room, both with en suite shower rooms.
There is a garage in which a small car can park and a private covered parking space. You can park your other vehicles on the communal car park nearby.
About the area ...
Les Gets and the neighbouring resorts of Morzine and Avoriaz are in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, which has 12 resorts spanning the French/Swiss border. With 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.
If you're not a skier, there's plenty going on in Les Gets, and the nearby resort of Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema shows films in English.
The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park in Morzine offers a variety of activities for all ages.
As spring comes to the Portes du Soleil, a whole new range of activities opens up to visitors. Lush green slopes replace the pistes, and the mountains become a haven for hikers, bikers and thrill-seekers. Take a picnic, and make a day of it! The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure.
Cool off with a swim in the nearby Lac des Ecoles, or try the inflatable assault course, trampolines or pump track.
For a change of scene, visit the nearby resorts of Morzine/Avoriaz or the village of Montriond and its lake, which is perfect for a gentle stroll and a picnic, or perhaps a bit of kayaking.
Les Gets and Morzine have earned the Famille Plus status for their excellent childcare and entertainment, so this area is a great choice for young families.
There are superb water parks in the town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages. Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz.
Other activities in the area include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, and fishing.

Chalet Kouzya is a three-storey, attached chalet for eight guests, less than 1km from the centre of Les Gets and the ski lifts.
It has four en suite bedrooms, three of which have large double beds (160cm) and the fourth has twin beds.
There is a WC on every floor.
This practical and comfortable chalet was completely renovated in 2023, resulting in a bright and airy chalet. The open-plan living room has doors to a terrace and small garden at the back of the property, and at the front the dining area opens on to a spacious balcony which is perfect for al fresco dining or simply for taking in the view of Mont Chery.
The well-equipped kitchen makes cooking a pleasure, and there's a dishwasher to make light work of the clearing up. The washing machine is in the laundry room on the ground floor, where you'll also find a ski room with a heated boot rack in the garage.
There's still room in the garage for a small car, and there's another covered parking space, as well as a parking area which is shared with neighbouring chalets.
Chalet Kouzya is a cosy and practical chalet for a group who want to make the most of the vast Portes du Soleil mountain area and enjoy all the facilities of this charming Alpine resort.
