About the property ...

The spacious accommodation at Chalet Cheval Blanc is set over two floors, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

You'll enter on the first floor, which will bring you to the ski room with lockers, a ski rack and a heated boot dryer. You can leave all your outdoor gear here before you head in to the main living area, where you'll find a seating area with a huge, three-sided sofa and chairs where you can get together in the evenings to chat and listen to music on the sound system. If you'd prefer to watch television, head for the TV room, where you'll find another cosy sofa.

A central fireplace separates this sitting area from the dining table the well-equipped kitchen, which has two ovens and two dishwashers. There's an island unit with a hob and breakfast bar.

Floor to ceiling windows and doors across the front of the property flood this area with natural light, and open on to the spacious terrace, which is partly covered. It's also furnished with a dining table, chairs and seating. The view across the village to the mountains is spectacular!

The four bedrooms at Chalet Cheval Blanc are on the lower floor. Two rooms have huge 200cm wide beds, doors to the balcony and ensuite bathrooms - one with a bath, shower and WC and the other with a shower and WC. There's another double room with a kingsize bed and an en suite shower room and the final room has two sets of bunk beds side by side, to make four single or two double beds. There's also a shower room, a separate WC and a laundry room.

All of the rooms throughout the chalet and the terrace are fitted with an audio system so that you can listen to your choice of music wherever you are. There are parking spaces for three cars and a charging point for electric vehicles.

About the area ...

Les Gets and the neighbouring resorts of Morzine and Avoriaz are in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, which has 12 resorts spanning the French/Swiss border. With 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.

If you're not a skier, there's plenty going on in Les Gets, and the nearby resort of Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema shows films in English.

The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park in Morzine offers a variety of activities for all ages.

As spring comes to the Portes du Soleil, a whole new range of activities opens up to visitors. Lush green slopes replace the pistes, and the mountains become a haven for hikers, bikers and thrill-seekers. Take a picnic, and make a day of it! The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure.

For a change of scene, visit the nearby resorts of Morzine/Avoriaz or the village of Montriond and its lake, which is perfect for a gentle stroll and a picnic, or perhaps a bit of kayaking.

Les Gets and Morzine have earned the Famille Plus status for their excellent childcare and entertainment, so this area is a great choice for young families.

There are superb water parks in the town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages. Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz.

Other activities in the area include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, and fishing.
