The property ...

This superb property offers spacious accommodation over four floors. You may have to toss a coin to see who gets to enjoy the vast master bedroom, set out in the attic with a small sitting room, a large bathroom with shower and bath, and a separate toilet!

On the lower floor, you'll find the vast living room, with a library, sofas and armchairs facing the suspended fireplace. There is also a balcony, enclosed by bay windows, from which you can contemplate the landscape at any time of year. This room also has a TV corner and table football, which you can bet your teenagers will love. The large dining table can accommodate all your guests at mealtimes, while the bar on the central island allows you to enjoy breakfast on the kitchen side.

The main entrance on the ground floor has been completely refurbished, and now features a vast reception hall with ample storage space. The 4 bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, are located on this level. Younger guests will love the games/TV room on the same floor, which can also accommodate two adults on a comfortable sofa bed (by prior arrangement).

The garage and ski room are on the lower floor, as is the relaxation pool with counter-current swimming and whirlpools. On the same level are two double bedrooms with terrace access.

The chalet is surrounded by lawns, most of which are flat, and there are three terraces, all with stunning views, so you are sure to find somewhere to relax in the sun.

About the area ...

Skiers and boarders will be spoilt for choice when they stay at Lodge Alta Clusa. The ski bus stop just 40m from the door is served by three different routes, giving you access to the 220km of slopes in the La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Le Croix Fry area.

If you’d rather take the car, the Bossonnet parking and lift in La Clusaz is just a three-minute drive away. Two ski lockers with heated boot warmers are available for guests to use.

There’s plenty to do for non-skiers too, with an ice-skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you’re looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the village’s heated outdoor pool, while the snow falls gently around you.

In the summer, walks start right from your door when you stay at Lodge Alta Clusa, and with the village of La Clusaz just 900m away, you won’t need your car to explore everything the mountains have to offer.

Hike into Les Confins, where you will also find a nine-hole golf course and fishing lake, or let the telecabine ferry you and your bike to the top, so you can come back down at your own pace. Other activities available in the area include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding.

The mountains around La Clusaz are criss-crossed with tracks and paths, so there is always somewhere new to discover.

If you just want to relax, why not soak up the sun on the terrace or balcony as you admire the mountain views. Later, fire up the barbecue and plan the next glorious day in the Aravis mountains as the sun sets behind the mountains.

There is a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants in La Clusaz, and you can pick up fresh produce, at the weekly market. There are larger supermarkets a little further afield in Thônes. The ski bus, which stops just 40m from your door, links La Clusaz to Le Grand Bornand and Manigod, making it easy to get around.

The beautiful lakeside town of Annecy is just a 30-minutes away by car, and is a great destination for a day out. With a great calendar of festivals and markets, there is always something going on. Lake Annecy is said to be the cleanest in Europe and in the summer it’s a lovely place for water sports, cycling and swimming. Why not hire a boat to explore the beaches, perhaps stopping at lakeside restaurant for lunch? Golfers will be keen to try one of the area’s superb courses or you could visit the chateau at Menthon St Bernard.
