Chalet Sisar ...
Surround yourself by nature when you stay at the incredible ski-in, ski-out Chalet Sisar! Situated on the Beauregard plateau, it's a 9km drive into La Clusaz but it's a lot quicker if you ski down!
Getting to the chalet by car will be part of the adventure in winter! The owner will welcome you at the Col de la Croix Fry car park. Access to the chalet is by snowmobile or by sled pulled by a quad, although the more adventurous can tackle the journey on foot. The snowmobile ride through the gorgeous snowy landscapes takes 10 minutes, and you'll be able to see the Mont Blanc if the weather is clear enough. Two trips will take a group of twelve up to the chalet. If you need to rent your ski equipment, you can pick it up when you arrive at the Col, while the owner will take care of your luggage.
During your stay, the owner will be able to ferry you down and back to the chalet outside the opening hours of the pistes, if you need to go shopping or wish to book a restaurant (this will need to be arranged with him in advance). We recommend you to purchase a few days worth of shopping before you drive up to Croix Fry (for instance at Thônes supermarket).
But when you get here, you won't want to leave - breathe in that clean mountain air as you admire the uninterrupted views of the Aravis mountains. It's a real paradise for guests who want to get away from it all.
The Beauregard plateau is not only popular with those who enjoy winter sports, but also with those who enjoy hiking and biking when the snow has melted. And at the end of an exhilarating day in the French Alps, Chalet Sisar is the perfect place to relax, on the terrace or around the fire.
In summer, the chalet is accessible via an unpaved forest track (access will be difficult for a car with low ground clearance), so we advise you to use a conventional tourist vehicle or at best a 4x4 to avoid any inconvenience.
About the property ...
Up to 12 guests will find plenty of room to rest and relax at the two-storey Chalet Sisar, which has five bedrooms and four shower rooms.
There are two entrances on the ground floor - skiers will prefer to come in via the ski room, where they can leave their equipment and put their boots on the heated dryer, ready for their next excursion.
The main entrance will take you straight into the large, open-plan living area, with its welcoming central fireplace. Relax on the sofas in front of the fire, or step out on to the south-facing terrace to enjoy the views and the last of the evening sun. There's a well-equipped open kitchen with a breakfast bar and a large dining table where you can all eat together. After dinner, why not challenge your friends to a game of table football?
There's also an office area on this floor, as well as a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer, and a separate WC.
The five bedrooms are all on the first floor. Bedroom 1 has a double bed with a television and an en suite shower room. Bedroom 2 also has a double room as well as a single bed, a TV and an en suite shower room. Bedroom 3 is a double with an en suite shower room.
The fourth bedroom has two single beds, and the fifth room is another triple room with a television - it can be arranged with three single beds, or a double and a single. There is another shower room on this floor with a separate WC.
About the area ...
When you stay at Chalet Sisar there's a great choice of winter sports minutes from your doorstep. You can ski straight from your door down to a piste which will take you down to the telecabine and ski school in La Clusaz.
There are nursery slopes and gentle blues on Beauregard and more experienced skiers and boarders will find plenty of challenge at La Balme. There are plenty of cross-country trails, particularly on the Beauregard plateau, and you can pick up a map from the tourist office in La Clusaz.
Non-skiers can try the ice rink in La Clusaz, go to the cinema, or try sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you.
But winter isn't the only time to visit the mountains. When the snow melts, the pistes are transformed into lush pastures criss-crossed by hiking and biking trails. Take a hike into the Col des Aravis, or to the base of the via ferrata from your front door, and you may spot chamois or marmottes on the way.
Enjoy the magnificent views across to the Mont Blanc chain from various points along the Col. If you don't fancy the long climb, some parts of the ski lift system open on particular days across the summer to ferry you and your bike into the mountains of La Clusaz or Merdassier, then you can descend at your own pace.
You can hire donkeys from a farm on the Col des Aravis for a day's trekking, or try horse-riding, climbing, and paragliding.
Just 35 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating, golf and watersports in the cleanest lake in Europe. At the end of the day, relax over a meal in a local restaurant, or perhaps a barbecue and a glass of wine on the terrace of your chalet as the sun sinks behind the peaks.
What next?
If Chalet Sisar sounds like the perfect place for your mountain holiday, check your dates against our availability calendar - we can hold up to two weeks for you for 24 hours, so that you can check with the rest of your group. But don't leave it too long, as you'll risk missing out on a stay at this very special place.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Sisar is a two-storey chalet for 12, with five bedrooms and four shower rooms.
Situated on the Beauregard plateau, you can ski, hike and bike from your door - it's the perfect choice if you love nature and mountain sports. But although the fabulous location will appeal to many, it might not be for you if you want easy access, especially in the winter.
However, the owner will ferry guests to and from the chalet on his quad bike when there's snow on the ground. Of course you will have to organise this service with him in advance.
Accommodation is flexible, with a choice of double and triple bedrooms and four shower rooms, as well as separate WCs, making it perfect for a group of friends or a couple of families staying together.
There's a lovely, well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar where you can grab a quick snack, and a large dining table where you can all enjoy a meal together. After dinner, the three sofas are the perfect place to snuggle down around the fire.
This really is a chalet where you can relax and get away from your daily routine. For that reason, there is no TV in the living room (although there are televisions in three of the bedrooms)
When you get together in the evenings, it's a time to chat, read, eat together and play games - there's table football in the living area. You can also enjoy evenings on the terrace - even in the winter, as long as you are wrapped up, perhaps with a hot drink, it's a wonderful place for stargazing!

From the owner

Magali & Jean-François
Built in the 18th century by Alpine Farmers from La Clusaz, this chalet has moved into a new stage of its history with a complete renovation from 2020 to 2022.
Two thirds of the timber walls have been carefully preserved, and the charm and authenticity of the place have been awakened using contemporary furniture and lighting, combined with traditional craftsmanship. Where complete renovation has been necessary, we've used old wood, and we've kept the original staircase, that would have been used to get to the sleeping areas.
The farmers' living area has become the ski room.
The carpenter and joiner restored the framework, walls and interior fittings, as well as the kitchen and dining room table and made a bed from a piece of wood from the stable. The five bedrooms, under the eaves as in any Alpine chalet, have modern furnishings.
This chalet, which can accommodate 12 people (8 adults and 4 children) in 5-star comfort, was designed to enable guests to relax in the middle of nature on the Beauregard plateau. There are wonderful views of the Aravis mountains, the Mont Blanc chain and the Dômes de Miage.
Access is by snowmobile or by sled pulled by a quad from the Col de la Croix Fry car park, although the more adventurous can tackle the journey on foot. If you need to rent your ski equipment, you can pick it up when you arrive at the Col, while we take care of your luggage.
The chalet is a real Savoyard retreat, with a breathtaking view of the peaks - the ideal setting for an unforgettable mountain holiday. From the ski room, you can ski to the cross-country tracks via the Crulets loop or to the Alpine ski area of La Clusaz via the Aiglon ski lift, which takes you to the top of the plateau.
From there, you will reach the centre of La Clusaz by the Guy Périllat piste or you can access the whole area via the telecabine.
After an hour or a day's skiing, you can return to the chalet on skis, making sure you get back on the telecabine before closing time. You will then be able to enjoy the sunset over the Aravis mountain range in front of a good fire, a game of table football or a board game.
We wish you a pleasant stay!
