Groups of up to 24 people can book this chalet with the neighbouring apartments, Chalet Backflip and Chalet Frontflip, both of which sleep 10 people.

About the property ...

This delightful chalet sleeps four people in two bedrooms, with a shared bathroom.

On the ground floor, a small hall takes you straight into the open-plan seating area, with a well-equipped kitchen on one side, a seating area with a sofa and stools facing the TV, and a folding dining table. A side door leads onto the sunny terrace, which is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee.

There's a double bedroom on the lower ground floor with plenty of cleverly-designed storage. A stylish shower room is off this bedroom with a sink unit and WC.

The second bedroom is a twin room under the eaves. Accessed by ladder-style steps, there are two single beds and a play net between the bed and the window, overlooking the living room below. Although this room is not suitable for young children, older children will love this hammock-style area, where they can curl up with a book or look out onto the mountains.

A wooden outbuilding in the garden has been converted into a ski room with a heated boot rack. There's also room to store outdoor equipment and bikes.

There is plenty of parking outside the property, in a car park which is shared with two neighbouring chalets.

About the area ...

A great choice of winter sports await you just minutes from your doorstep when you stay at Chalet Sideflip.

The ski bus stops 100m away from your door, so you don't need to worry about driving to the pistes. There are nursery slopes, gentle blues and cross country trails on Beauregard, while more experienced skiers and boarders will find plenty of challenges at the popular La Balme area.

Non skiers will also be able to take advantage of the ski bus to visit cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops or try activities such as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. There's also an ice rink in La Clusaz and a cinema which shows films in French and English.

If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you.

There's just as much to do at Chalet Sideflip if you visit in the spring and summer, when the pistes are transformed into lush pastures criss-crossed by hiking and biking trails.

Take a hike into the Col des Aravis, or to the base of the via ferrata from the front door, and you may spot chamois or marmots. Enjoy the magnificent views across to the Mont Blanc chain from various points along the Col.

If you don't fancy the long climb, some parts of the ski lift system open during the summer to ferry you and your bike into the mountains of La Clusaz or Merdassier, then you can descend at your own pace. For a really special day out, you can hire donkeys from a farm on the Col des Aravis for a day's trekking, or try horse-riding, climbing or paragliding.

Just 35 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating, golf and watersports in the cleanest lake in Europe.

At the end of the day, relax over a meal in a local restaurant, or perhaps a barbecue and a glass of wine on the terrace of Chalet Sideflip as the sun sinks behind the peaks.
