About Chalet Le Mousqueton ...
This three-storey detached chalet for 14 (max 10 adults on a five star basis) is popular with winter sports enthusiasts, as it is close to the lift. In fact, it's so close that the Transval lift passes over the garden!
The owners have recently installed a new outdoor swimming area with decking and views across l’Etale mountain. It comprises a pool with built-in swim jet (think treadmill for swimming!) and a six seater jacuzzi. The pool is available from beginning of May to the end of October and the jacuzzi all year round.
Recently renovated, this stunning six-bedroom chalet less than 3 km from the centre of La Clusaz has modern, stylish furniture and a funky bright decor that will appeal particularly to family groups - although we're sure the huge games and entertainment room with TV and pool table will be a hit with the adults too! Enjoy a game of table tennis in the new fitness zone where, in the warmer months, you can work out with the weights and boxing bag. From May through to October, for an extra charge, nurture both your body and your mind by arranging a yoga session through our chalet manager (exercise mats provided) or a massage to ease those aching limbs before luxuriating in the jacuzzi or the sauna.
It's a short drive to the centre of La Clusaz, or you can take the ski bus, which stops less than 100m away. The village has a great choice of bars and restaurants, as well as a supermarket. There is also a smaller supermarket, a boulangerie and a couple of bars and restaurants in Merdassier, plus bars and restaurants within a 500m walk of the chalet.
The property is perfect for families or for groups of athletes looking to take advantage of the ample mountain skiing, running and cycling opportunities together with an all-over swim workout. Triathletes, look no further…!
The Property ...
As you enter Chalet Le Mousqueton, you’ll discover the first two bedrooms – a double room with an en-suite shower room, desk and direct access to an outdoor terrace, and a twin room. There’s also a huge sauna with its own shower room.
Also on this floor is the laundry, the boiler room and a very spacious bootroom with direct external access. The room is kitted out with state-of-the-art boot warmers, glove warmers, ski racks, benches and lots of space to store and dry off your outdoor gear. A door from here leads to the fitness zone (suitable for use in the warmer months), with a weights rack, bench and boxing bag, exercise mats and a table tennis table. There is also space here to store bikes on the professional bicycle rack. A bicycle repair kit is also available on hand for those cycling enthusiasts. When not in use as a fitness zone, this space can still be used as a garage to keep cars clear of snow if necessary.
Take the central staircase up a floor to the open plan living area - a cosy sitting room with sofas around a modern stylish woodburner and a television. The chef’s kitchen, by luxury brand Poggenpohl, is fully equipped with high-end Gaggenau appliances and boasts a central island with bar stools, ideal for socialising. The kitchen is well-equipped with kitchen gadgets to make cooking a delight. There's also a huge dining table for everyone, with panoramic views, from l’Etale across to the Beauregard mountains.
There are two more bedrooms on this floor too - a double with an en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom as well as a separate shower room. This area can be closed off for privacy or left open so that guests using the living area can use the toilet in the shower room.
There's a family bathroom on the second floor, with a fabulous free-standing bath, two hand basins and a huge shower. The toilet is separate. There is also a double bedroom with views of l'Etale, and a dorm room which can be arranged with four single beds or two doubles. Unusually for Alpine properties, all of the bedrooms have thick carpets for extra cosiness!
There's a huge terrace outside which is great for eating out in the summer. In the winter, wrap up warm, grab a chocolat chaud and look out for shooting stars! In summer, younger children will love the little playhouse in the garden - a mini chalet all of their own.
About the Area ...
With the Transval ski lift, ski hire shop and lift pass directly behind the property, Chalet Le Mousqueton is a great choice for skiers and boarders. Competent skiers will be able to ski down to the Telemix at l'Etale, although youngsters going for lessons there may need to be walked down (less than 300m).
The ski bus stops nearby, linking La Clusaz with La Croix Fry, and is free with the Carte d'hôte and the Aravis ski pass. This ski pass will also give you access to 220km of pistes in Manigod, La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, so you will never be short of a challenge.
Floodlights mean you can ski into the night in La Croix Fry, and the weekly torchlit descent into La Clusaz is unforgettable!
A wide selection of trails ensures cross-country skiers are spoilt for choice, while non-skiers can try the local ice rink, sledging run and public swimming pool in La Clusaz, or strap on some snowshoes and take to the mountain paths.
With all this on your doorstep, there's no need to venture further, but if you want to, Chamonix is within easy reach for a day out.
In the summer, Chalet Le Mousqueton is the perfect base for an action-packed holiday.
Hike into the Col des Aravis, or let the ski lift ferry you and your bike into the mountains, so you can come back down at your own pace. Other local activities include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding - there is always something new to try in La Clusaz.
Just 30 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy with its spectacular lake offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating and water sports in the cleanest lake in Europe.
At the end of the day you'll love returning to Chalet Le Mousqueton, where you can relax on the terrace or in the pool, sauna or jacuzzi and make plans for the next great day.

From the owner
Sharon & Stephen
“It had been but a pipe dream for so many years, but finally, in late 2016, we were delighted to become the proud new owners of a gorgeous chalet, Le Mousqueton, in La Clusaz. The chalet had been used as a family home for many years, so the layout and bedroom / bathroom ratio was in need of some updating if it was going to work for multiple families to share.
But the chalet itself had ‘great bones’, so it was a fantastic opportunity for us to give it a new lease of life, as well as our chance to put our own stamp on it.
It’s funny how when you start these things, you don’t think there is that much to do until you actually sit down and put pen to paper. The next thing you know, it has morphed into a massive building project! Perhaps that is no surprise when it was our desire to create our perfect chalet to enjoy as a family with our friends and relatives, as well as hopefully one that would appeal to families generally.
Our own exacting standards, combined with our obsession with maximising space and light, has led us to create a bright and ample living space, but which maintains that all-important cosy chalet feel. Furthermore, what I hope we have also achieved is a space where in addition to everyone being able to come together, those who wish to can also find their own space.
Relax on one of the four terrace areas with a drink (book optional!) taking in the fabulous mountain views, chill (or rather warm the cockles!) in the sauna, or enjoy a sneaky snooze in one of our six lovely bedrooms.
If you are feeling more sociable, you can challenge your friends to a game of pool / air hockey or table tennis, watch a movie in the media room or take pleasure in a good old fashioned chat over dinner or in our relaxing lounge area.
Leave your stresses and strains at home – welcome to Chalet Le Mousqueton!

“Superbe chalet”
Tout est sur place pour passer de très belles vacances en famille. Merci à Marine pour son accueil remarquable, ses conseils pour les activités locales et sa gentillesse.
“Really appreciated stay!”
We were a family of 11 that stayed for a week at the chalet, and we really enjoyed it. The chalet is very well equipped and Marine, the host, was very responsive and helpful. The chalet is located 5 minutes away from Clusaz in car, where there are a lot of restaurants and activities. And the area is really beautiful, with lots of hiking trails and Lake Annecy within 40 minutes drive. The only negative thing to say about the chalet is that it is located close to two small but surprisingly trafficked roads, with a lot of noisy trucks and motorcycles passing by. This is a small minus, but apart from that I can only recommend this chalet.
“Beautiful chalet”
We enjoyed our stay in this big chalet with quality equipments and facilities. We loved our sessions in the hot tub and the sauna after skiing and hiking.
