Chalet Elomaz...
This delightful contemporary chalet is perfect for groups who are planning to explore the Aravis area and beyond.
Situated in the village of St Jean de Sixt, with stunning views over the mountains, Chalet Elomaz is halfway between the Alpine resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, giving you easy access to the whole of the Aravis ski area - 220km of varied slopes. Both ski stations are just five minutes drive away, but if you'd rather take the ski bus, it stops just 250m from your door.
Families will feel perfectly at home at the spacious Chalet Elomaz, and children will love the large garden, on the edge of the forest, with a slope which makes a great sledge run in the winter!
The centre of the village is just 700m away, thanks to the main road from/to La Clusaz running just below the chalet. It offers a good selection of shops and restaurants, with plenty more to be found in La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand. The beautiful medieval town of Annecy is just 25km away, and is a wonderful day out, whatever the time of year.
About the property...
With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, there is plenty of room for 10 guests at this bright and spacious chalet.
The main living area is on the ground floor - the hall, with a heated boot rack and a separate toilet, leads to a cosy seating area where you can gather in the evenings, around the TV or woodburner, as well as a dining table which opens on to the covered terrace, with views to the mountains.
The modern kitchen comes with all the equipment you need to cook for a large group, and a breakfast bar with stools, so the cook need never be left out of the conversation!
There's a double bedroom on the lower ground floor, where you'll also find a shower room, separate toilet, laundry area and a great games and television room, which younger guests are sure to claim as their own!
There are three more bedrooms on the top floor - one double room, a twin room, and a twin room with a set of bunk beds. There's also a shower room and a bathroom on this floor.
Skiers will be glad of the useful ski store, which is just outside the front door, and there is a sheltered area with room to keep two cars out of the snow.
About the area...
Whether you are visiting the French Alps in the winter or summer, Chalet Elomaz in St Jean de Sixt is in a great location to make the most of the mountain activities. Halfway between the villages of La Clusaz and and Le Grand Bornand, there's great skiing in both directions.
Together with Manigod, these villages offer 220km of pristine pistes with a great snow record, and something for all abilities. There's also a great ski bus network, which links the three areas and is free with your Aravis ski pass, so you can ski somewhere new every day.
Non-skiers can go ice skating or swimming in La Clusaz, where the heated indoor and outdoor pools are open all year round, or try snowshoeing, sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides and the exciting ski-joering - skiing while being towed by a horse! After all that excitement why not enjoy some pampering at one of the many spas - you've earned it!
There's plenty to do here in the spring and summer too. St Jean de Sixt is one of only two places in the world where you can try Bun-J ride, a cross between a ramp descent and bungee jumping! Other more traditional pastimes are available too - marked footpaths crisscross the mountains, many starting right from your front door, or you can explore by mountain bike - take the lift to the top of the mountain then come back down at your own pace.
There are a number of mountain farms within a walk of the chalet, where you can see the local Reblochon cheese being made - you'll come away with a delicious treat for the walk back! Cool off at the swimming pool complexes in Le Grand Bornand, La Clusaz and Thônes, or if you're looking for something a little more challenging, there's a climbing school, via ferrata routes, tree-top adventure parks, canyoning, white-water rafting, horse-riding, karting and paragliding all nearby.

The OVO Network Review
“Family chalet with easy access to great skiing”
This cosy chalet for 10 guests is in a great location for groups who want to get out and about, but also appreciate having all the facilities of a village on their doorstep.
Set over three floors, there are three bathrooms and toilets on each floor, but it may not be suitable for those who find stairs difficult.
Chalet Elomaz is just on the edge of St Jean de Sixt, but just a few minutes drive from the larger villages and ski stations of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, so you have got plenty of choice for skiing, walking, biking and numerous other mountain activities. And with the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy just 25km away, you'll never be short of somewhere to explore.
The chalet is spacious and well decorated, with three bathrooms over the three floors. It's a great choice for families, with a cosy bunk room as well as a games room with table football, beanbags and a television.
That leaves the lovely upstairs seating area for the adults!
The field next to the property is a great place to play in the summer, and in the winter it's a great, safe place to sledge or have snow fights. The chalet is at the end of a road, so there's no passing traffic to worry about, either.
The lockable ski store outside the front door is a practical addition, and the ski bus stops just 250m away. With La Clusaz in one direction and Le Grand Bornand in the other, there's a great choice of skiing and walking areas.
The main living area opens onto a lovely covered terrace, with great sunset views. However, when you are outside there can be some noise from the road below during the day.
However, having easy access to the main road means you lose no time getting to the pistes!
While you're in St Jean de Sixt why not try out the Bun-J experience? It's one of only two place in the world where you can try out this combination of skiing and bungee jumping, so don't miss out!

From the owner
A childhood dream that grew up
I discovered the magic of the Aravis when I was just a boy, during family holidays in Saint Jean de Sixt and La Clusaz. I remember thinking: "When I grow up, I will live here."
Life's happy coincidences led me back to this region, and I've never left. One day I came across this land, but it was already sold.
One year later it came back on to the market. There are some signs you just shouldn't ignore, so I bought it.
Working in the construction industry, I designed and built this chalet to be a comfortable and convivial place where guests can share some happy times with family and friends.
Fans of skiing and walking can climb or descend (or both) the slopes of the surrounding valleys. The less sporty and younger guests will enjoy the field behind the chalet, where you can settle down with a good book, take a siesta, make a snowman or go sledging, depending on the season.
Everyone gets together in the evening to share a game of table football or perhaps a glass of wine on the covered terrace or around the fire.
Surrounded by nature, you're sure to see, through the window on the stairs or on the landing, deer grazing in the clearing behind the chalet.
And if you're wondering about the name of the chalet (and I know you are!), it's a nod to two blonde youngsters who are very dear to me.
I look forward to welcoming you very soon!
Lionel

“Great location!”
The chalet is close to the village, it's walking distance to many shops, however it's also isolated enough that we don't have the crowds. The chalet is beautiful, very well equipped and made us feel at home. We recommend this rental.
— Nadine P. Jan 2023
“Cozy chalet near slopes”
A very nice and functional chalet, close to shops and ski slopes. Please note that the chalet is located near the main road, which is not a problem during the winter season as you will be inside. However, you should be aware of this if you are spending your summer holiday here.

“A wonderful week away in a beautiful chalet in the Alps!”
A beautiful chalet in the Alps, well equipped and comfortable bedrooms and amenities. Sheltered area outside for evenings and alfresco dining.
Great location to get to grand Bornand, La Clusaz, Lake Annecy and in particular Sevrier Beach.
Lionel was a great host with prompt replies to any questions. He was kind to let us roll over our reservation twice due to Covid and restrictions.
Thank you for a wonderful week away.

“Very high quality!”
Amazing stay! The chalet is gorgeous, very well equipped (changing table, games and books for kids...) and impeccably clean. Very high quality! Lionel was available and very flexible on the time of arrival and departure! It is true that at times we hear the road when we are on the terrace, but it does not prevent us from enjoying it!

“Would love to come back! Ideal location close to everything!”
A new and very comfortable chalet, with an almost private toboggan run, near the town center. We appreciated the consumables made available to start the stay without worry (toilet paper, condiments, logs for the stove ...). The road below the property is busy, but indeed well indicated before booking. The site is very clear and very honest about the reality of things.
— Sebastien Z. Feb 2021

This chalet was exactlly as described on the website and in the photos. Snowshoes, ponies, sleging, swimming for babies - DELIGHTFUL!

Proximity to tourist attractions and points of interest as well as main itinaries and shops: ideal for family vacations. Cozy house, well-appointed and tasteful decoration (at least for us!). Quality equipment. Easy communication with Lionel the owner, welcoming and charming. We stayed there within a group of 8 people without getting in the way of each other. Very pleasant.
