Chalet Ourson du Passieu ...
Get away from it all at this wonderful chalet for 10, surrounded by mountain pastures! Totally renovated to provide contemporary and comfortable facilities for up to 10 guests, the chalet has a beautiful garden, a sauna and great views of the valleys and mountains.
Whatever time of year you visit, you're guaranteed a peaceful stay at Chalet Ourson du Passieu. However, you won't be totally isolated - the villages of St Nicholas la Chapelle and Flumet are just 5-7 minutes drive away, and both have easy access to the Espace Diamant, Val d'Arly and Portes du Mont Blanc skiing areas.
In the summer, the beautiful Lac de Flumet (5km) is the perfect place to swim or relax with a picnic. There's also a playground, a skatepark, a multi-sports area and a cafe, so take the family and make a day of it!
The two villages have several restaurants between them, and enough shops to provide everything you'll need during your stay - there's a small supermarket and a deli in Flumet, and bigger supermarkets can be found in Notre Dame de Bellecombe (8km) and Praz-sur-Arly (10km).
At the end of a fun-packed day in this beautiful area, you'll be happy to get back to Chalet Orson du Passieu where you can relax in the sauna, enjoy an evening in the garden (you may even be visited by chamois), or gather around the fire in the living room.
Access to the chalet is not a problem for most of the year, but during the winter you'll need a 4x4 to get right to the chalet.
About the property ...
This beautiful old farmhouse has been beautifully renovated to provide superb accommodation for 10 guests, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms over three floors.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor - a double room with valley and mountain views and access to a balcony, and another large double with a dressing area and an en suite bathroom. There's also a separate shower room on this floor, as well as the sauna (with a shower) and the laundry room.
The main living area is on the first floor - this beautiful open-plan area has a cosy seating area where you can gather around the TV and a funky suspended fireplace, or enjoy a meal together at the huge dining table. The stylish, well-equipped kitchen has a central island where you can grab breakfast before you head out for the day, as well as a large fridge-freezer and a range cooker with two ovens. There's also a dishwasher, but you might prefer to wash up by hand when you see the great view of the ski slopes from the sink!
There are two more bedrooms on this floor - a double room with a desk and access to a balcony, and a bunk room with a mezzanine play area and an en suite shower room. There's also another shower room and a separate WC. These two rooms make a great family suite.
The stunning fifth bedroom is at the top of the chalet, and has the whole of the first floor to itself. As well as a stylish freestanding bath, a shower and a seating area, this bedroom has the most incredible view from the bed! There's also a home office area with a coffee machine and room for several work stations which, being at the top of the house, gives you complete privacy if you want to work remotely. And when it's time for a break, step out and enjoy the fresh air from the balcony.
There is parking outside the chalet, as well as a parking space at the top of the road which may be easier in snowy weather.
About the area...
If you're visiting Chalet Ourson du Passieu in the winter, you'll have access to plenty of great skiing. The resort of Flumet-St Nicholas la Chapelle is part of the Val d'Arly ski area, which has 90km of pistes - perfect for a short stay. But there's plenty more to explore if you have the time.
A free shuttle bus links the villages to the Espace Diamant area (192km of pistes) at Les Evettes. The Espace Diamant ski pass also includes Notre Dame de Bellecombe and Crest Voland/Cohennoz. If you're still looking for more challenge, you can head for Megeve (15km), where you can explore the huge Evasion Mont Blanc area's 479km of slopes!
There's just as much to see and do in the summer too, with wonderful scenery to explore on foot or by bike, impressive Baroque architecture and the more relaxing Lac de Flumet leisure area, which is perfect for a family day out.
Walkers can enjoy gentle strolls along the banks of the Arrondine river, or head for the heights - there's a challenging 18.5km route that takes in the three peaks around Flumet. Cyclists will appreciate the free shuttle bus, complete with a trailer for your bikes, that runs along the Val d'Arly throughout the summer.
Spring and autumn are great times to visit the Val D'Arly too - the resorts and mountains are less crowded but nature is still spectacular. Why not consider working remotely from Chalet Ourson du Passieu? There are several office areas, and great wifi links.
If you want to get away from city life and avoid the hustle and bustle of the busy mountain resorts, Chalet Ourson du Passieu will already be calling your name! Check your holiday dates on our availability calendar - we can hold up to two weeks for you for 24 hours, with no obligation.

The OVO Network Review
“A relaxing haven in the heart of nature”
Chalet Ourson du Passieu is a newly-renovated farmhouse for 10, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms and over three floors.
Surrounded by fields, wildlife and birdsong, this beautiful chalet is a wonderful base for an Alpine holiday, at any time of year! Young children will love to look out for visiting wildlife, such as chamois and marmots, while adults will relish the chance to relax in the garden, well away from neighbours and the crowds you are sure to find in the busy resorts.
There is a small price to pay for this splendid isolation - in winter you'll need a 4x4 vehicle to negotiate the road down to the chalet, but there is no problem during the rest of the year.
And don't be fooled by the chalets's charming traditional exterior - once you step through the doors you'll find a comfortable, modern home, with stylish decor and all the facilities you need to help your holiday go without a hitch, including a well-equipped kitchen, a separate laundry room, five stylish bath and shower rooms, a sauna and an open-plan living area that opens on to a balcony.
The bedrooms are all well-appointed, with three doubles and a bunk room, each with their own (not necessarily en suite) bath or shower room. But the final bedroom, the master suite on the top floor, really takes the prize! From the bed you look out over a stunning view, which is even better if you step out on to the balcony.
There's also a dressing area and a beautiful bathroom with a freestanding bath - again with a lovely view! This room also has a large office space, with room for two or three workstations and a coffee machine. With more people looking to work remotely from the mountains, this is an obvious choice for a longer stay.
But despite its idyllic setting, Chalet Ourson du Passieu is only a five-minute drive from the ski lifts, shops and restaurants of Saint Nicholas La Chapelle and Flumet, and just a 15-minute drive from Megeve. In the summer you can spend a sunny day at the leisure lake in Flumet, enjoy a gentle stroll along the Arrondine river or head for the peaks for a more challenging hike.
If you're looking for a lively holiday in the heart of the resort action, this chalet is not for you, but if you want to relax and recharge, enjoy the fresh mountain air and the stunning scenery, book now!

From the owner
It has everything you need for a relaxing break with your friends and family
When our work took us away from Haute Savoie a few years ago, we were keen to get back to the peace and quiet of the mountains.
Having skied most of the region's slopes, it was only natural that we chose to return to the slopes of our childhood in Notre Dame de Bellecombe, far from the crowds, the lift queues and the black runs.
We spent several years looking for the right chalet, and when we saw this ancient Alpine farmhouse dating from 1822, we knew wet had finally found our piece of paradise.
It has everything you need if you're looking for somewhere to spend a relaxing holiday with friends and family, away from the "ski factories" And if you are quiet and keep your eyes open, you will probably spot chamois, wild sheep and roe deer in the fields behind the chalet.
If, like us, you love the flora and fauna of the mountains, the murmur of the waterfalls and the tinkle of cowbells, you'll love it here.
We hope you have a lovely stay in our chalet, Ourson du Passieu.
