There's also a great aquatic centre, with spa facilities as well as indoor and outdoor pools, and a popular indoor play centre for younger children.
In the summer, there is a huge choice of trails for hikers and bikers, and those with a taste for adventure can try the Fantasticable - a zipwire which will have you hurtling between the mountains at up to 100kph.
There are plenty of places to explore around Châtel too - the picturesque medieval village of Yvoire, on the banks of Lake Geneva, is just an hour away and the beautiful Chateau de Chillon, near Montreux, is even closer.

From the owner
Guillaume is a winter snow addict, Nicole fell in love with summer in the mountains – and Châtel offers the best of both worlds: it's at the heart of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski domain in the world, with so much to do in summer too!
We love Chalet Igel for the ease of getting to the different Châtel ski lifts, the cross-country ski pistes are just down the road, there's road biking, mountain biking, downhill biking. We also love dragging our two kids on long hikes with magnificent views! We are close enough to town and the slopes, but far enough to have a tranquil location.Chalet Igel is big enough inside for several families, but there's also a big garden and of course, a pool!
