The ski bus stops just outside your apartment, and will whisk you to the Super Châtel lift or Linga lift in just few minutes. About the property ...

This delightful third-floor apartment is part of a new boutique development, which has been designed to blend in beautifully to its Alpine surroundings and the local architecture. Natural wood, stone and slate have been used to create a relaxing, light-filled environment, making the most of the stunning views.

Solly Nook has three bedrooms - a double room, a bunk room for four (ideal for kids), and a spacious master bedroom with an en suite shower room. There's also a separate toilet, and a family bathroom with a spa bath.

The open plan living area has a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a comfortable living area. Doors open on to the large, sunny balcony where you can enjoy the stunning views from the hot tub, enjoy a barbecue or watch for shooting stars.

If you're bringing your car to Châtel, you'll appreciate the garage and the covered parking space. There's also a ski locker with a heated boot rack.

About the area ...

Solly Nook is set in a quiet location just a 10-minute walk from the centre of the popular mountain resort of Châtel, which is part of the Portes du Soleil ski domain. The Super-Châtel / Barbossine and Linga / Pre la Joux/ Plaine Dranse sectors that surround the village have 41 ski lifts and 45 slopes, providing plenty of scope for all ages and abilities.

The village itself is still a traditional farming village, retaining its Savoyard architecture and character. But the growth in ski tourism means it now boasts some wonderful restaurants, both on and off the slopes. There's also a great aquatic centre, with spa facilities as well as indoor and outdoor pools, and a popular indoor play centre for younger children.

In the summer, there is a huge choice of trails for hikers and bikers, and those with a taste for adventure can try the Fantasticable - a zipwire which will have you hurtling between the mountains at up to 100kph.

There are plenty of places to explore around Châtel too - the picturesque medieval village of Yvoire, on the banks of Lake Geneva, is just an hour away and the beautiful Chateau de Chillon, near Montreux, is even closer.

The village is easily accessible from Geneva airport, either by car (about 90 minutes), train or bus. Or you could arrive in style by booking a helicopter transfer!

“A great base for an active mountain holiday”

Solly Nook is a contemporary apartment for eight guests (max 6 adults) with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's set in a quiet part of the Abondance valley, with mountain and forest views, but it's not far from all the Alpine action.

Set on the third floor of a four-storey building, there are fabulous views from the spacious balcony.

The village is just 1km away, but as it's uphill, the walk there may take you 15 minutes. However, it should be quicker coming back! If you'd rather not use your car during your stay, there are two covered parking spaces.

There's a bus stop just outside the apartment building, and it's just a five-minute trip to the lifts.

Solly Nook apartment is a great choice for a group looking to make the most of their time in the mountains. Summer or winter, there's so much to do on your doorstep, and still more to explore further afield, either on skis, on a bike or by car.

And when you return at the end of the day, you'll have all the facilities you need to relax in this high-end, contemporary apartment.

"Ben and I fell in love with the Portes du Soleil after attending a wedding in 2014.

We are both crazy for skiing but that was our first summer visit to the mountains and the Vallée d'Abondance blew us away!

What could be better? The largest ski domain in the world with a summer offering to match!

At Solly Nook, we love the huge windows and tranquil tree top location, whilst only being a few minutes from the slopes and bustle of town.

And after an active day, an evening spent in the hot tub, enjoying the views of the valley while listening to the cow bells and the stream babble are just magic."

“Incredible stay!”

Brand new and spacious property. It had an elevator and it's very close to a supermarket. It’s a great property for families with children and the kitchen is well equipped. It has a Jacuzzi and a nice porch. We visited in July for Le Tour de France and had a phenomenal time. We enjoyed the coffee and wine they had for us.
