What’s on in the Evasion Mont Blanc: Summer 2023

The Evasion Mont Blanc is home to picturesque resorts such as St Gervais, Combloux and La Giettaz, as well as the glamorous Megève. While they may be better known for their world-class skiing, come in summer and you’ll find fabulous activities and entertainment waiting for you.

As well as these main events, you’ll find lots of other guided tours, concerts and activities to enjoy – take a look at the individual tourist office websites to find out more.

General activities

Local markets

Enjoy shopping at one of the area’s local markets, where you can find everything from fresh produce and charcuterie to pottery and handmade gifts.

  • St Gervais – Thursdays, 08h – 13h
  • Combloux – Wednesdays, 08h – 12h
  • Megève – Friday, 09 – 13h

Farm Visits

In most resorts, you’ll be able to visit some of the local farms and try the cheeses. You’ll get a fascinating insight into the traditions of the mountains and you’ll be able to buy some cheese to enjoy at home.

Dive In!

In St Gervais, you’ll find a fabulous swimming pool complex, with an outdoor pool, a 25m pool with underwater speakers and a leisure pool suitable for families. There’s also a wellness area with a sauna and hammam.

If you’re in Megève head for Le Palais Megève, an aquatic centre with an outdoor Olympic pool, an indoor swimming pool, an indoor paddling pool, a sauna and a Turkish bath.

While in Combloux, relax by the biotope lake. Facing Mont Blanc, the lake’s waters are naturally filtered and offer a fantastic outdoor swimming pool with a difference.

Rally – 34th Alps Cup

Date: June 15th
Location: Megève

This classic sports car rally comes to Megève, with cars dating from 1950 to 1986. Covering 1,000km and 18 mountain passes, the rally crosses the Alps from Evian to Cannes. A great spectacle for all the family

Criterium du Dauphiné

Date: June 9th
Location: La Giettaz, Crest Voland

The 6th stage of this famous bike ride passes through La Giettaz, heading for the finish line in Crest-Voland. It’s a great spectacle, so be sure to find a good viewing point!

Megève Mont Blanc Cycling

Date: June 10th and 11th
Location: Combloux

A fantastic weekend of cycling events, with something for almost all ages. This year, five disciplines are represented – a cycling challenge, a gravel bike race, an e-bike tour, a kids race and the ‘Phénoménale’! If you love cycling, come and join in.

La Comblorane

Date: June 10th & 11th
Location: Combloux

The 27th edition of this trail race comes to Combloux, with three timed races of 7, 25 and 42km, through forests and mountain pastures.

Aravis Bike Tour

Date: June 12th – 16th
Location: La Giettaz

Come and discover the best of this beautiful part of the Alps, with five days of cycling. There are two different levels – ‘loisir’ and ‘performance’, so you can choose what’s best for you!

8th Rally Megève to Saint Tropez

Date: June 12th – 13th
Location: Megève

This rally covers 900km and takes in both the French and the Italian Alps. Come and watch the fabulous cars set off! They arrive on 12 June and set off from Megève on the first stage, to Courmayeur, on 13 June.

St Jean Bonfire Night

Date: June 24th
Location: Megève

Join in the fun and discover the local traditions at this fun event, with a parade, bonfire and folk music taking place in the centre of the village.

MB Race

Date: June 30th – July 2nd
Location: Megève, Combloux, La Giettaz

This incredible mountain bike race offers competitors plenty of challenges! The longest one-day mountain biking event, it’s 140km in length with riders climbing 7,000 metres.

Cuisine Mon Village

Date: July 1st & 2nd
Location: Megève

Discover delicious local specialities at this foodie event, with workshops for kids also available. A must for all food lovers!

48th Festival of Brass Bands

Date: July 2nd and 3rd
Location: Combloux

With fantastic music, parades and great food, this festival will keep everyone entertained! Click here to find out more.

Bastille Day

Date: July 13th
Location: Megève

With a lantern parade led by the Harmonie de Megève Orchestra, as well as a show from over 100 drones in the sky, plus dancing with live music from the band Red Hot Chili Guinguette, this is set to be a great way to celebrate Bastille Day. Find out more here.

27th Megève Jazz Competition

Date: July 15th & 16th
Location: Megève

Enjoy warm summer evenings and fantastic jazz music at this weekend-long competition between 4 jazz bands playing their music throughout the village.

The Megève International Showjumping Competition

Date: July 16th – 23rd
Location: Megève

Taking place at the Sports Centre, this event will see horses and riders from all around the world compete.

Tour de France

Date: July 16th – 19th
Location: Saint-Gervais & Combloux

There will be four days of festivities for the Tour de France, which includes the finish of Stage 15 at Le Bettex, the Passy-Combloux time trial and the start of Stage 17 from Saint Gervais. Come along and enjoy the atmosphere of this iconic event.

Festival – ‘Théâtre dans les Alpages’

Date: July 25th to 28th
Location: St Gervais

Taking place in Alpine meadows just as the sun sets, come and enjoy French plays and a magical atmosphere. Read more about the festival here.

Megève Nature Trail

Date: July 29th – 30th
Location: Megève

Not a gentle stroll through nature but a weekend of trail running, with several events for all ages, all with great views and a backdrop of Mont Blanc. Distances vary from 8 to 43km, and if you’re really keen, you can do one each day! Find out more here.

Megève Blues Festival

Date: August 4th and 5th
Location: Megève

This fabulous music festival returns, with performances from Dana Fuchs, Supersonic Blues Machine, Joe Louis Walker and more.

Village festival

Date: August 12th – 13th
Location: Megève

Traditional customs and crafts are revived at this wonderful festival, which will take you back to a time when Megève was a farming village. Folk groups will bring the streets to life with their Savoyard music.

La Haute Route

Date: August 20th – 26th
Location: Megève

This prestigious cycling race starts in Megève and heads for Nice. Described by ‘Cyclist’ magazine as “the ultimate physical challenge that will change your life” it’s a great event to watch – and challenging to be a part of!


La Grande Bambée – Trail Marathon

Date: September 3rd
Location: La Giettaz

If you love running, why not come and try this mountain trail run? With three different races, covering 16km, 28km and 44km, and with some challenging mountain terrain, there’s a great atmosphere.

The Gourmet Hike

Date: September 17th
Location: Combloux

A new event that takes you on a 10km walk, discovering the local foods and landscapes on the way!
