Overview
This 18th century farmhouse in the village of La Chapelle d'Abondance has been wonderfully renovated, making it into an ultra-modern and spacious mountain holiday home.
Stunning interior design, a cinema room, games room and sauna are just some of the features that make this property stand out. Located at the northern end of the Portes du Soleil, it's just a few hundred metres from the nearest ski lift, and a short drive from the lifts in Chatel.
The chalet sleeps eight adults and five children in five stylish bedrooms, all of which are en suite. Four of the rooms have king size or twin beds, and the fifth, with two sets of bunk beds, a separate single bed and a snug will be a big favourite with children.
The open plan living area, once used to dry hay, is now a stunning place to relax. A central double aspect woodburning stove separates the comfortable seating area from the sleek contemporary kitchen, with a central island and breakfast bar. There's also a dining area, with room for everyone to eat together.
Three sliding doors mean you can open the whole space up to the spacious balcony, with fabulous views of the mountains.
The quiet snug is a great place to curl up with a book, or if a film takes your fancy, make yourself comfortable in the home cinema, with a 65-inch TV, surround sound and tiered seating. If you're feeling a little more daring, try the indoor swing over a glass floor!
For the ultimate in relaxation, head down to the lower ground floor, where a spa treatment zone awaits, with a massage table, sauna and relaxation area. There's also a games room on ground floor with a pool table and table tennis, for those who still have energy to burn after an active day in the mountains.
