The highlight of the holiday season will be the Christmas Enchanted Village. Each year this magical place offers great entertainment for the entire family with daily shows, treasure hunts and workshops for children starting from December 19 and running until New Year’s Day.

Many of the outdoor activities are already open and ready to welcome you – why not try something new this winter?
Outdoor ice-skating
Wrap up warm and put your skates on – Morzine’s outdoor ice rink is open throughout the winter season and makes it easy for children – and adults – to take their first steps on the ice.
Snowshoeing
A great way to explore the beauty of the mountains and good exercise! You can rent a pair of snowshoes (and poles) from one of the local ski stores. There are plenty of trails for you to follow – ask at the tourist office for a map, layer up and enjoy the day.
Sledging
Great fun for all the family, Morzine has a dedicated sledging area that lets kids – and adults – of all ages sledge safely.
Cross Country Skiing
Book a lesson to improve your skills at this increasingly popular sport. For ‘classic’ or ‘skating’, this is a great outdoor workout which lets you explore the beautiful scenery of the Alps at the same time!
Ski Touring
Head out with a guide to enjoy the best of the mountains. You need to be a good skier for this – and fit as you’ll be walking up the mountains, but you’ll find untracked descents and fabulous views.
Ski-joering
You may have heard of this before but never really had the chance to try it – now you can! Ski-joering combines skiing while being pulled by a horse – a great activity to try with Ski-Joering Avoriaz
Snowmobiling
Here’s a different way to ride down the slopes – when nightfall arrives, hop on a snowscoot with Avoscoot to explore the mountains. A memorable experience to share with your friends and family.
Snow Tubing & Yooner sledging
The kids will love trying out the snow tubing and Yooner sledging activities on offer in Morzine. No need to be a mountain expert to enjoy snow tubing, it’s an amazing recreational activity that simply involves riding on an inner tube. A Yooner is like a sledge fitted with a runner that allows you to carve turns. Thrilling sessions are guaranteed.
Other activities such as Nordic walking, horse riding, yoga, horse drawn sleigh rides and ice climbing are also available. For the brave at heart, ice diving in Lac Montriond or paragliding over the Alps are worth a try.
The Prodains Express Cable Car is the only lift up and running during the full festive season. This offers direct access to Avoriaz, where you can also enjoy many of these activities.

Over the festive season many restaurants in Morzine will be offering takeaway and delivery services so you can just sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful meal in the comfort of your chalet.
Try restaurants such as Bec Jaune Brewery (burgers and Asian fusion), or Le Clin d’Oeil & La Dez’Alp which have New Year’s specials.
Local food stores will also be delighted to welcome you and share some of their delicious specialities and can even suggest recipes for you to create in your chalet.
Check out La Ferme de la Fruitière for the perfect cheese experience – tastings and visits won’t be able to take place onsite, but you can buy cheeses to enjoy with a glass of wine for the perfect French apéro in your Morzine chalet.
