5 reasons to book a ski-in ski-out chalet

Being able to ski to and from the front door of your chalet is obviously the ideal situation for most skiers.

Our ski-in ski-out properties are situated either on or within 200m of the piste. This makes them the perfect home base for beginners and advanced skiers/boarders alike.

But, what are the specific benefits of staying in a ski-in ski-out chalet? Why might this kind of chalet suit your needs more than one further from the slopes? Read on to discover our top 5 reasons to book a ski-in ski-out chalet for your next winter holiday…

What are the benefits of staying in a ski-in ski-out chalet?

1. There’s less rush

Being so close to the lifts means that instead of scrambling to get your boots on and get out the door for the ski bus, you can simply put your skis on and go! Some guests prefer having more time to enjoy breakfast and take their time before heading out on the slopes.

What’s more, you’ll be less rushed trying to make it back in time before lift closures, so you can have a leisurely end to your day.

2. You’re not as reliant on public transport or your own car

La Ferme a Juju is just 50m from the lifts and parking, as well as the ski school meeting point. Many guests holiday here without a car, or park it upon arrival and don’t use it all week.

Although you may still be required to take a bus around town, staying in a ski-in ski-out chalet often allows you to be less reliant on public transport.

For really keen skiers who want to ski all day, it cuts out the risk of missing the ski bus which can negatively impact your time on the slopes.

Nervous drivers may also feel more at ease not having to navigate an unknown ski resort to get on the slopes or clear the car of snow every morning!

3. It’s easier when travelling with kids

Carrying your own ski equipment can be enough of a struggle. Having to carry yours plus your kids makes things that bit harder! Ski-in ski-out chalets cut out a lot of the hassle that comes with getting you, your kids and everyone’s kit from A to B, as you can ski straight from your door.

4. Beginners may enjoy it more

Staying on a green or blue piste can mean that by the end of the holiday even beginners will be able to ski back to the front door with confidence.

Beginners who are taking ski lessons throughout their trip can also get there with minimum fuss, allowing for a more relaxing start to their day of learning.

5. You can be more flexible

Some skiers or snowboarders like to change gear and clothing, especially in unpredictable weather conditions, or if they are trying out new equipment prior to purchase.

Being able to ski home at the end of the day without accessing busy roads, or full-to-bursting ski buses also has its appeal. Rather than heading to the nearest cafe or restaurant, younger children or beginners can be dropped back at the chalet easily if they get too cold, tired, hungry, or just need to take a break.
