About Lodge Alta Clusa ...
At first glance this farm built in 1900 has all the hallmarks of a traditional chalet. But as soon as you step inside you’ll see that the owners have done an amazing job of bringing it right up to date, with the modern comforts and conveniences you need for an unforgettable holiday - including an indoor pool with a counter current and jacuzzi!
There is plenty of space at this luxury property which is in a peaceful location just 1.2km from the pistes. The centre of La Clusaz, with all its shops, restaurants and bars, is 1.6km away - a 20-minute walk.
The chalet’s position overlooking the pistes and the village offers wonderful uninterrupted views from the balconies and terrace and it’s just 40m to the ski bus stop - put your car in the garage when you arrive and forget all about it!
The property ...
The spacious accommodation at this beautiful home is set over four floors and is bathed in sunlight throughout, thanks to the large windows.
You might have to flip a coin to see who gets the fabulous master suite, which takes up the whole of the top floor. It has a small lounge area, a large open plan corner bath and a double shower, as well as a separate toilet.
The main entrance to the chalet has been totally renovated and leads into a spacious hall on the first floor. This is where you will find the main living areas. There’s a large open plan lounge with an extensive library, and sofas and armchairs facing the suspended fireplace, plus a second lounge area with TV. These are great spaces in which to chat with friends, plan the next day or simply relax with a drink in the evenings. There’s also a balcony enclosed by glass - perfect for taking in the magnificent view, whatever the weather.
There’s a separate TV room with more sofas and an area with table football, which is a great place for teenagers to hang out. The dining table is big enough for everyone to eat together, and there's also a central island with a breakfast bar in the kitchen.
There are four more en suite bedrooms on the ground floor - one double, two twin bedrooms which can be made up as doubles and a children’s room, which has two twin beds with two bunk beds over - a great place for sleepovers! Children of all ages will also love the games room on this floor, which can accommodate two adults on a sofa bed.
The lower ground floor is where you will find the garage with a ski store and boot warmer, and the fabulous swim spa which has a counter-current at one end and a jacuzzi at the other! There are also two double bedrooms on this floor, one with a bath and shower room and the other has a bathroom.
The chalet is surrounded by lawns, most of which are flat, and there are three terraces, all with stunning views, so you are sure to find somewhere to relax in the sun.
About the area ...
Skiers and boarders will be spoilt for choice when they stay at Lodge Alta Clusa. The ski bus stop just 40m from the door is served by three different routes, giving you access to the 220km of slopes in the La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Le Croix Fry area.
If you’d rather take the car, the Bossonnet parking and lift in La Clusaz is just a three-minute drive away. Two ski lockers with heated boot warmers are available for guests to use.
There’s plenty to do for non-skiers too, with an ice-skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you’re looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the village’s heated outdoor pool, while the snow falls gently around you.
In the summer, walks start right from your door when you stay at Lodge Alta Clusa, and with the village of La Clusaz just 900m away, you won’t need your car to explore everything the mountains have to offer.
Hike into Les Confins, where you will also find a nine-hole golf course and fishing lake, or let the telecabine ferry you and your bike to the top, so you can come back down at your own pace. Other activities available in the area include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding.
The mountains around La Clusaz are criss-crossed with tracks and paths, so there is always somewhere new to discover.
If you just want to relax, why not soak up the sun on the terrace or balcony as you admire the mountain views. Later, fire up the barbecue and plan the next glorious day in the Aravis mountains as the sun sets behind the mountains.
There is a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants in La Clusaz, and you can pick up fresh produce, at the weekly market. There are larger supermarkets a little further afield in Thônes. The ski bus, which stops just 40m from your door, links La Clusaz to Le Grand Bornand and Manigod, making it easy to get around.
The beautiful lakeside town of Annecy is just a 30-minutes away by car, and is a great destination for a day out. With a great calendar of festivals and markets, there is always something going on. Lake Annecy is said to be the cleanest in Europe and in the summer it’s a lovely place for water sports, cycling and swimming. Why not hire a boat to explore the beaches, perhaps stopping at lakeside restaurant for lunch? Golfers will be keen to try one of the area’s superb courses or you could visit the chateau at Menthon St Bernard.
If a luxury mountain holiday at Lodge Alta Clusa sounds just what you need to recharge your batteries, get your friends together and check our availability calendar for vacances - we will be happy to hold your dates for 24 hours if you need a little time to make your plans. But don't leave it too long - this property is very popular with our guests.

The OVO Network Review
“...the addition of Snow Lodge property number 10 to the OVO Network”
We are delighted to announce the addition of Snow Lodge property number 10 to the OVO Network!
Spread over 4 floors this magnificent renovation of a 1900 farmhouse has all the recognisable hallmarks of a Snow Lodge property; solid craftsmanship, respectful restoration work, a nod to local La Clusaz traditions, contemporary furnishings, luxurious fabrics, splashes of colour, unusual designer touches including of course a signature children’s dormitory, good proximity to the pistes and local amenities, views to die for, and the needs and comfort of discerning guests who trust the Snow Lodge brand of assured quality, as a priority.
With seven en suite bedrooms, staggered terraces, and balconies, and jaw-droppingly beautiful open views across the Aravis mountain range from Les Confins and La Balme to the west and Beauregard to the east, Lodge Alta Clusa sits serenely in its landscaped garden (which is also flat!).
The garage, ski stores, pool/jacuzzi, and two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor. The main living spaces are on the first floor, overlooking the tree canopy. In winter you will feel like you are floating in the middle of the snowfall, and there will be beautiful sunsets to observe all year round. A further 4 ensuite bedrooms, including the bespoke children’s dormitory, are located on the second floor, and finally, the master suite occupies half of the top floor.
This property ise a haven all year round, perfect for groups of friends, several families or colleagues. With good and close access to the ski bus, the property is a 900m walk from the Bossonet ski lifts and parking at the top of the village, so accessible for non-skiers and walkers too.

From the Owner
We love this chalet, with its blend of the traditional and modern, and its breathtaking views …
After several stays at popular ski resorts in the French and Swiss Alps, which were often disappointing, we discovered La Clusaz. We were seduced by the beauty of the place, the traditional charm of the village and the lovely bell tower.
The beauty of the Aravis mountains, the farms where we buy our fresh milk and a great choice of skiing – La Clusaz offers everything you can find in the bigger resorts, but still retains its charm and character. We have finally found a place that suits us!
When we first visited this former farmhouse, which dates back to the 1900s and would eventually become Alta Clusa, we immediately spotted the potential for a warm and elegant holiday property. Every detail of this incredible renovation project has been taken care of by a team of local craftsmen with passion for their work. We decided to create a contemporary home using traditional materials.
Why Alta Clusa? Simply because the name La Clusaz dates back to about 1700, and comes from the French word for gorge, cluse – which comes from the Latin clusa, or close. It indicates a narrow valley with steep cliffs. Alta refers to the altitude of the property.
We love this chalet, where everything is practical, comfortable and cosy. We hope you enjoy it and feel at home here. Have a great holiday at Alta Clusa!
Marie Christine and Frederic Stevenin
We rented the chalet for the weekend of our intimate wedding (16 people, ranging in age from two to 81). Everyone, even the most demanding of us, loved our stay! The bedrooms are spacious, bright and decorated in a contemporary style, while keeping the spirit of a mountain chalet. The living spaces are designed so that everyone can get together or stay in small groups. We had all the equipment we needed, as well as sunshine from morning to evening (it was June). The swimming pool/jacuzzi was very popular! The Snowlodge service was the best: the staff had a good knowledge of the chalets, were very helpful and professional and helped us arrange our holiday. We loved La Clusaz, which still has plenty of life even out of season, and being so close to the Col des Aravis. Alta Clusa was the perfect place for our special day.

“Perfect to celebrate my 40th birthday!”
We chose this chalet to spend a good time ith our friends and their children and celebrate my 40th birthday. It was truly ideal! The big living space allowed us to be all together while enjoying various activities. We'll keep great memories of our table football games. It was great! A special thank you to Mélanie the manager for her warm welcome and her very professional management of our comfort and needs.

“An unforgettable holiday”
We had an unforgettable holiday at Lodge Alta Clusaz. The chalet is huge, and there is room for everyone throughout the day, with a magnificent spacious living room for evenings with friends. The children loved the pool and the table football. The adults adored the sunny terraces. We would love to come back.

“A perfect chalet on every level”
We really loved the location close to the village, the ski school and the Bossonet lift, as well as the two ski buses! The comfort levels are faultless (bed linen, sofas, two dishwashers, two washing machines and tumble driers). We also loved the beautiful decor throughout the chalet, the excellent bathrooms and the leisure pool, the storage for skis, jackets and boots in the garage. Best of all - the slippers provided for us! The beauty of the village, which is dominated by chalets, and the kindness of local traders and restaurateurs helped to make our holiday so enjoyable. Just one remark: we would have loved some more ski lockers.

“Lots of space”
Chalet is decorated with good taste. Great location, easy access to the resort. Lots of space for everyone.
