About Le Solavue ...

This stunning lakeside apartment in Annecy has to be one of the town’s best holiday properties - a 12th-floor penthouse flat with incredible views over the lake and the mountains beyond. Add to that an exclusive address just a few steps away from the Imperial Hotel, the casino and the Paquier - the lakeside esplanade which hosts sporting events, festivals and open-air cinema - and you have all the ingredients for a superb holiday.

It’s just a short walk to the old town, where you can enjoy a superb meal at one of the many canalside restaurants, visit markets or just take in the scenery.

As well as produce and antique markets, annual highlights include the Venetian carnival in February, the animated film festival in June and the Lake festival in August. Members of the OVO team have put together a list of their favourite things to do in the area - check it out for walks, bike rides and lots of other ideas.

Skiers can drive to the Aravis ski stations of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand in just 40 minutes.

The property ...

This luxury apartment is served by two private lifts, which will whisk you straight into the spacious lobby Leave your coats, outdoor gear and suitcases here and head inside.

The three bedrooms, all of which can be made up with twin or double beds, are to the rear of the apartment and all have televisions. There is also a stylish shower room, a bathroom and a separate toilet.

The fabulous living room stretches right across the front of the apartment, where floor to ceiling windows make the most of the breathtaking view across the lake to the mountains beyond. There is a dining table here and two seating areas.

Patio doors open out onto a narrow balcony which is a great place to sit and watch all the action on the lake. Views of the lake change constantly, according to the light and the weather - you will find it difficult to tear yourself away!

The well-equipped open-plan kitchen has a breakfast bar and wall-hung television which can be viewed from the dining table, so you don’t need to be bored when it’s your turn to cook. Parking is at a premium in Annecy so the allocated space which come with this apartment are a real bonus!

About the area ...

Le Solavue is perfectly located for families or friends  who wish to spend some time skiing in the superb Aravis stations of La Clusaz, Manigod and Le Grand Bornand but also wish to explore the surrounding area.

It’s a 40-minute drive to Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz , where you will have a choice of 220km of pistes offering plenty of challenge for all ages and abilities. There are also plenty of cross-country skiing trails and snow-shoeing options, particularly on the stunning Plateau de Beauregard.

If you fancy a change of scene, it’s just 30 minutes to the smaller resort of Semnoz, where a day’s pass for the two lifts will set you back just 16.20€ (2016). The resort of La Sambuy, near Seythenex, south of Lake Annecy, is just over an hour away and has 10 pistes ranging from green to black. An adult day pass is 17€ (2016).

Wherever you decide to spend the day, a day on the slopes followed by apres-ski at a bar on the Venetian-style canals of Annecy is something you won’t find anywhere else!


If you want to explore the French Alps in summer you’d be hard pushed to find a better location than Le Solavue.

With the beautiful Lake Annecy right on your doorstep, you can swim from the stunning lakeside beaches, or try watersports such as water-skiing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding. A cycle path runs almost all of the way around the lake, or you could hire a boat and visit one of the many waterside restaurants.

For a change of scene, head for the mountains. There’s a huge range of activities to be found in La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod (climbing, hiking, mountain-biking and paragliding to name just a few!).

There are several superb golf courses nearby, such as the Golf Club du Lac d’Annecy in Talloires, and the stunning Chateau de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, less than 20 minutes' drive away, is definitely worth a visit.

However, if you want to go a little further, there are lakeside towns and villages, such as Talloires and Menthon St Bernard to explore. Just 10km away, you can explore the spectacular Gorge du Fier - a deep canyon carved through rock by the river Fier. Geneva airport is less than 40 minutes away, and  Annecy has its own airport for domestic flights. It’s just a 15-minute walk to the rail station at Annecy which is served by the TGV, making Le Solavue a great choice for short breaks or longer holidays.

In the evening, what could be nicer than a stroll in the Paquier - the grassy lakeside esplanade which is host to festivals, open-air cinema and sporting events - a canalside meal in the old town, or a glass of wine on the balcony at Le Solavue?

“Solavue is a family apartment which we bought in 1979. Its prime location at the centre of Annecy is close to the Albigny beaches, the Imperial gardens, the Paquier green and the old town. The balcony offers a magnificent view over the lake and the Aravis mountains, making it a unique property.

In 2016, we decided to totally renovate the apartment as a holiday property. We called in an interior designer, whose brief it was to turn it into a contemporary yet comfortable home. We chose quality materials, modern furniture and an elegant décor, designed to make our guests feel at home during their stay.
