You'll love this apartment in Les Gets!
This lovely apartment on the Les Gets side of Morzine is one of 10 in a two-storey purpose-built building in a quiet residential area. Sitting above the village, it enjoys spectacular views of the valley and mountains. It's a five minute drive to Les Gets town centre.
The free ski bus stops outside the chalet, which means that the road is regularly cleared of snow. The apartment is perfect for familes as it has a large enclosed sunny terrace where children can play safely.
Perfect base for families to explore the Portes du Soleil ...
This cosy self-contained apartment, which sleeps eight (six adults and two children) has a private entrance from the terrace and parking just outside. There's a useful ski store down a few steps from the entrance hall, but the rest of the apartment is on one floor.
The large open plan living area has a well-equipped kitchen a dining table for eight and a cosy sitting area with a large sofa and a couple of chairs around a woodburner. From here doors open onto the sunny enclosed terrace which is perfect for star-gazing or, in the summer, barbecues and sun-bathing.
The large master bedroom has a double bed and en suite shower room, and the other two bedrooms both have double beds with a single bunk over. These rooms share a bathroom, but there is also a hand laundry room with washing machine, drier, sink and toilet.
Decor is contemporary and mountain-style, with comfort and practicality in mind, so that your holiday goes without a hitch.
Great location surrounded by fantastic skiing...
With the ski bus stopping right outside La Farandole, you can forget about driving when you head for the slopes, but if you do want to take the car out, the fact that the apartment is on a bus route means that the road is always cleared of snow.
Morzine is in the centre of the Portes du Soleil, making the neighbouring resorts of Les Gets and Avoriaz easily accessible. You can also ski in to Switzerland, but be warned, only the most accomplished skiers should tackle the Swiss Wall - a huge mogul field which is classified as an orange route - too hazardous for a black! But with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. The location of La Farandole puts you withing easy reach of Les Gets ski lifts which will whisk you in to the heart of the Avoriaz ski area.
If you're not a skier, the close resort of Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English.
The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.
Biking, hiking and plenty of fun for all ages ...
As spring comes to the Portes du Soleil, a whole new range of activities opens up to visitors. Lush green slopes replace the pistes, and the mountains become a haven for hikers, bikers and thrill-seekers. The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure. Take a picnic, and make a day of it!
For a change of scene, visit the nearby resorts of Morzine/Avorias or the village of Montriond and its lake, which is perfect for a gentle stroll. Les Gets has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment, so it's the perfect choice for young families.
There are superb water parks in the town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages. Golfers will find excellent courses just a short drive away in Les Gets and Avoriaz.
Other activities in the area include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking. If all this sounds like hard work, you could always just relax on the furnished terace at La Farandole ...
Spread your wings and explore lake and mountain villages ...
The lively town of Les Gets and the neighbouring resort of Morzine offer plenty of variety for a holiday, whatever the time of year, but if you venture a little further, there's plenty more to discover.
The Portes du Soleil resorts span the border with Switzerland, giving you two countries and two cultures to experience. It's just over half an hour's drive to Lake Geneva, where you can explore lakeside resorts the pretty spa town of Evian-les-Bains, or the beautiful medieval village of Yvoire. You can also cruise to other lakeside towns such as Lausanne and Montreux.
In Chamonix, just an hour's drive away, enjoy a ride on the second-largest cable car in the world, and take in the spectacular views from Mont Blanc. Geneva airport is just over an hour away from La Farandole, making it easy to return if you don't get to see everything this time!

Wherever we are in the world, this remains home and our refuge
When searching the ideal location for our family, we were immediately struck by the beauty of the panorama from La Farandole. We didn't know Les Gets but soon learned how it has retained much of it's true village character and what a family friendly and welcoming village it remains. They are especially adept at organising childrens' activities, indeed activities for all ages.
The apartment is family size with 3 good size bedrooms and 2 bathroom/shower rooms, a full utility room with toilet: it totals 100m2 with another 64m2 of terrace. We particularly enjoy the peace and quiet it brings to our lives.
Access is excellent; the free bus stops outside every thirty minutes in winter, is rarely full and drops you at the Les Perrieres lift in eight minutes, to avoid the crowds and access the Portes des Soleils - 650 km of pistes and snowparks for all levels. The bus also runs once an hour in summer. The village is 15 minutes away, if you enjoy a walk it takes 22 minutes to reach the centre, the healthier uphill return walk takes 5 minutes longer. Access for cars is easy as we are on the bus route therefore our road is one of the first cleared by the snow ploughs.
Wherever we are in the world this remains home and our refuge, you will see from the Guest Book that the apartment never fails to please. Enjoy our home; we wish you as much pleasure as it gives us."

At the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Europe's largest skiing area, Morzine offers great winter sports and plenty of summer action. Ski, hike or bike into Switzerland, enjoy great lakeside walks, explore mountain villages or just relax in one of the village's many restaurants or bars. With a superb swimming pool complex, adventure park and a choice of spas, there's always something new to explore.
“Thanks for a great holiday”
The property was great and just as described, in fact better than our expectations. Well equipped with all the required cooking utensils and even a raclette machine and a brand new fondue set. All of the beds were made up even though we only required the doubles, and the bathrooms all had little complimentary toiletries which kind of gave them a hotel feel. The apartment is heated really well even if you don't use the wood burner, but if you use the wood burner it's really cosy. If skiing, the bus stop is literally just at the front of the property and there are 2 buses an hours up an until about 6.30PM. I have no recommendations to make the property better. Food shopping is expensive in local supermarkets so make sure you stock up in large ones before getting to Les Gets. I will definitely consider going back.

“A wonderful week with our adult families all together.”
The apartment worked very well for our needs and was so well equipped - everything we needed and more. Felt like home rather than just a rental property with lots of personal touches. Would definitely go back in the future.

“The kids had a blast !”
We had a great holiday here in Les Gets ! No snow but gorgeous sunshine and lots of good hikes. Location was perfect and the chalet was very cosy and comfortable. The apartment is very well equipped and tastefully decorated. The kids had a blast, and the adults entertained themselves just fine! We hope to return.

“Lovely & comfortable”
We all enjoyed the skiing. The three children all gained badges from their lessons. The bus stop outside made travel to the slopes easy.

“Great days, great evenings, great holiday”
Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely chalet. The size for six of us was perfect and with the bus stop outside, life was so easy. We really enjoyed the facilities available in chalet (nothing was missing!).
