There's just as much to see and do in the Trois Vallées in the summer, with walking, biking and climbing among the many activities.

Foodies are well catered for in St Martin de Belleville, where you'll find everything from Savoyard specialties to La Bouitte - a renowned restaurant with three Michelin stars. But if you'd rather cater for yourself, you'll also find a popular bakery, butcher and a small supermarket.

Accommodation is arranged so that the vast, light-filled living area is at the top of the chalet, making the most of the stunning views of the Roc de la Lune from the terrace.

About the property

This charming chalet has plenty of room for 10 guests in five en suite bedrooms, with accommodation set over three floors.

The first two bedrooms are on the ground floor. Both have elegant vaulted ceilings and shower rooms and can be arranged with twin beds or a large double. You'll also find the sauna, a laundry room and a separate WC on this floor.

There are three more twin/double bedrooms on the first floor. One of them has an en suite shower room and the other two have bathrooms with relaxing whirlpool baths.

On the top floor, the spacious living area is flooded with natural light, thanks to the huge windows which frame the breathtaking view. A central fireplace separates the kitchen and dining area from the living area, from which doors open onto the sunny terrace. There are also balconies on either side so that you can make the most of the views.

An exposed wooden ceiling contributes to the cosy atmosphere, while the slate greys and neutral tones chosen for the decor reflect the natural colours of the mountains.

The fully-equipped kitchen with a central island makes cooking a pleasure, and there's plenty of room for everyone to eat together at the large dining table.

The chalet also has parking and a garage, as well as a useful ski locker.

About the area

The tranquil ski resort of St Martin de Belleville is a great hit with families, due to its relaxed atmosphere and a superb dedicated ski area for beginners.

You'll find a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants, but if you're looking for lively apres ski, you might have to travel a bit further.

Fast lifts and 600km of pistes across the Trois Vallees, Les Menuires, Meribel and Courchevel mean there's plenty of scope for winter sport enthusiasts.

There's plenty for thrill-seekers in the summer too. Try paragliding, climbing, via ferrata or perhaps even white-water rafting and canyoning on the Isère river.
