Chalet Xanadu Morzine

In the summer, Lake Montriond (4km) is a great place for family walks, kayaking, fishing and swimming, and there are plenty more hiking and biking trails in the surrounding mountains - let the lifts take you and your bike up, and come back down at your own pace.

Chalet Xanadu Morzine is set over five floors, with an entrance at the top and the bottom, so there are lots of stairs, but there's also plenty of space for up to 14 guests.

The high-spec Chalet Xanadu Morzine sleeps 14 guests in six en suite bedrooms over five floors.

If you enter on the ground floor, you can leave your skis in the ski room and any other outdoor equipment in the large garage. There's a WC off the spacious hall, and wide stairs lead up to the first floor.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor - a double room with an en suite shower room, and a children's room with two sets of bunk beds and an en suite bathroom. There's also a useful laundry room on this floor.

Three more bedrooms are waiting on the second floor - all of them have access to the balcony, and can be arranged with twin or kingsize beds. One of these rooms has an en suite bathroom and the others have shower rooms. The spa is on this floor too - there's a sauna and wet room with doors leading out to the hot tub terrace - there's no better way to end the day than to sit here with a drink under the stars!

The third floor is dedicated to the impressive living area, with four doors which open on to the sunny, wraparound balcony. and flood the room with light. You're certain to enjoy some wonderful evenings on the sofas and chairs around the fireplace, and there's a separate room for those who'd like to watch television.

The kitchen is practical as well as beautiful, with a range cooker and huge American-style fridge freezer, and everything you need to cook up a tasty meal. There's plenty of room to sit up at the long breakfast bar, so the cook is always part of the action, and there's a large dining table where you can all eat together.

Head up to the fourth floor to find the second entrance to the chalet and the master bedroom, which has its own terrace and an en suite bathroom. There's a storage room and WC on this floor as well as stairs up to a mezzanine hideaway for children.

Chalet Xanadu Morzine's location between Morzine and Montriond is ideal for exploring the 12 ski stations of the Portes du Soleil. Despite its tranquil location, you're just a few minutes from the busy ski stations of Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets.

With 650km of pistes, almost 200 lifts and endless cross-country skiing, you’ll never be bored of this winter sports paradise. The resorts cross the border, so why not ski into Switzerland for lunch? But be careful which route you choose - the Swiss Wall is a piste that challenges even the most experienced skiers.

If you’re not a skier, or if you fancy a change from the slopes, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which regularly play host to ice hockey matches. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling, ice-diving, or tandem paragliding. If you’d rather discover the area in a more sedate manner, try a sleigh ride.

Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park in Morzine offers a variety of activities for all ages.

When the snow melts, the slopes around Morzine and Montriond become a haven for walkers, mountain bikers and thrill-seekers.

Just a short drive from Chalet Xanadu Morzine, the lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure.
