Overview
This magnificent 5 star chalet, 'The One Chalet', was built based on an authentic Savoyard farmhouse, with the smaller, original mazot in the garden conserved.
The owners purchased the property in 2012, then started renovating it into the exceptional chalet that you will never want to leave ! Located in a quiet hamlet of Morzine, it also has the advantage of being only 10 minutes on foot from the town centre: the ideal place for your next holiday, whatever the time of year.
The original layout of the chalet will allow every guest to find their own space in this superb contemporary interior. The garden, balconies and terrace allow you to admire the breathtaking views of the slopes, the resort and the surrounding forest that kids will love to explore in both winter and summer.
About the property
When you enter the chalet, you’ll feel as if you have slipped between the pages of an interior design magazine. Original wooden features are enhanced by the high-quality materials used for the renovation and the refined furniture — all highlighted by the play of light in the living area. You can relax in the large living room, or gather around the large dining table or bar, or linger between the two, where you’ll find the sleek kitchen with a breakfast area and a glass floor, which looks down on to the swimming pool below! It is on the lower level of the chalet with a sauna and a shower on the same floor, along with the entrance to the chalet and two double bedrooms with a shared ensuite bathroom.
On the top floor of this area of the chalet, you will find a small office area nestled in the corner, plus the master bedroom and bathroom. The second area of the chalet features a double bedroom with bathroom, and a bedroom with three single beds and a shower room. The communal area opens on to the sunny terrace and the chalet has huge windows throughout, making the most of the light and the fabulous views.
About the area
The chalet is less than a kilometre from the pistes, and 450m from the ski bus, so you can be in the heart of the Portes du Soleil in no time at all. The region’s 12 ski resorts offer 650km of slopes and almost 200 lifts, so there is plenty of choice for skiers and boarders of all abilities. This winter sports paradise crosses the border into Switzerland - experienced skiers will enjoy the challenge of the infamous Swiss Wall, one of the fastest descents on any piste map. If you’re not a skier, and you manage to tear yourself away from the sauna and pool at The One Chalet, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or tandem paragliding, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park in Morzine offers a variety of activities for all ages.
There’s just as much going on in Morzine in the summer as in the winter. The slopes and mountain trails become a paradise for mountain bikers - put your bike on the ski lift to go up the mountains and save your energy for the adrenalin-filled descent. Walkers can take advantage of the lifts too, to discover high-altitude trails and stunning views. Morzine has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment — perfect for young families. You can also take advantage of the Portes du Soleil Multi Pass, offering unrestricted access to the full range of family activities, at an exclusive rate of 2€. The village, and neighbouring Avoriaz, have great water parks and two summer sledging runs. The Indiana adventure park offers a range of assault courses to suit all ages, and other activities include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing, kayaking and hiking. Small children (and big kids!) will love the village of Les Lindarets, where goats wander freely — it’s a great place to stop for lunch too. You can also take advantage of the Portes du Soleil Multi Pass, offering unrestricted access to the full range of family activities, at an exclusive rate of 2€.
Morzine and the neighbouring Les Gets and Avoriaz offer plenty of variety for a holiday, whatever the time of year, but if you venture a little further, there’s plenty more to discover. The Portes du Soleil resorts cross the border with Switzerland, giving you two countries and two cultures to experience, and the pretty spa town of Evian-les-Bains, on the banks of lake Geneva, is a great destination for a day out. From there, you can take a boat to other lakeside towns such as Lausanne and Montreux. In Chamonix, just an hour’s drive away, you can take a ride on the second-largest cable car in the world, and take in the spectacular views from Mont Blanc. In summer, the breath-taking drive over the mountains to Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, one of the most beautiful villages in France, is worth a day trip. With Geneva airport just over an hour’s drive away, Morzine is easily accessible for a weekend or short break, but with so much to see and do, you’re bound to want to stay longer.

Guest reviews
“Beautifully decorated chalet!”
We loved this chalet this summer, but we couldn't help ourselves but think how wonderful it would be in winter with the sauna and swimming pool! We recommend Chalet The One whether it's for a family of 4 or for several families as there is plenty of room for two families to share.

“Ideal for 3 families”
A chalet overlooking the valley with beautiful views. Well placed for the pistes and the centre of the village. Well furnished with a lovely pool. The layout works well for three families, there's a Netflix account, snow is cleared for cars and the sauna works well.

“Faultless experience.”
The communication prior to arrival, greeting on arrival, help with local queries during our stay and of course the chalet itself were of the highest order. Great family space which other chalets seem to lack for larger bedroom properties. Great mix of restaurants, bars and shops as well as a great skiing area of course. Furthermore, helping out with logistics to the local hospital following an accident on the slopes with a family member went beyond the call of duty.
