Chalet Musini ...
This charming 5 star chalet for eight is in a quiet location at the end of a cul de sac, just 300m from the centre of Le Grand Bornand. And with the pistes just 1km away and the bus stop 300m away, you won't have to rely on your car to enjoy your holiday.
Le Grand Bornand is part of the Aravis skiing area which, along with Manigod and La Clusaz, has 220km of fabulous skiing, all on one lift pass. In the summer, there's a wonderful choice of hiking and biking trails. The village also has plenty of shops and restaurants, a weekly produce market and a packed programme of events organised by the tourist office.
When you return to Chalet Musini at the end of an exciting day in the mountains, you can relax in the sauna or enjoy an apero as you take in the wonderful views of the mountains and the village from the sunny terrace or balconies.
About the property ...
Chalet Musini has plenty of room for eight guests in four bedrooms with three bathrooms, with the accommodation set over three floors.
The main entrance to the house is on the ground floor - the hallway leads you straight in to the fabulous living area, where you'll be immediately drawn to the fabulous views over the village, with the Aravis mountains beyond. Comfortable leather chairs and a sofa are arranged around the woodburning stove - the ideal place to curl up with a book, or gather to watch a film or catch up on your day after dinner. Doors open on to the wraparound balcony where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink or perhaps a barbecue. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook up a delicious meal, and there's plenty of room to eat together at the dining table. There's also a double bedroom on this floor with an en suite shower room, and a separate toilet accessible from the hall.
There are three more bedrooms on the first floor - a double room with a shower room and doors on to a balcony; another double with a balcony and a twin room. There's also a large separate bathroom with twin washbasins.
The sauna is on the ground floor - there's no better place to wind down after a strenuous day skiing, cycling or walking. There's also a ski room with a boot warmer and a useful laundry room with a washing machine, dryer and a second fridge, perfect for keeping your drinks cold.
There's plenty of parking outside the chalet, as well as a double garage to keep your car snow free and ready to go.
About the area ...
When you stay at Chalet Musini, you're only 1km from the pistes and just a short walk from the ski bus stop.
The bus, which also serves La Clusaz, stops just 300m from the chalet, and it's free to use with your Aravis ski pass. This pass covers more than 220km of pristine pistes, in the resorts of Le Grand Bornand, La Clusaz and Manigod, so there's plenty of challenge for skiers and boarders of all abilities. There are also plenty of cross-country trails.
Non-skiers won't be bored either - try hiking or snowshoeing, paragliding, hot-air ballooning, ice-skating or ice-climbing. Le Grand Bornand boasts the Famille Plus mark, ensuring that there is always plenty of entertainment and activities for even the youngest visitors.
In the summer, a network of walking and biking trails criss-cross the slopes, and you can pick up a route map for either at the tourist office. Le Grand Bornand has a beautiful nine-hole golf course with a great driving range, and on those very hot days, why not head for the fantastic swimming pool complex, with a restaurant and grassy areas for picnics.
If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, there’s a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby.
August sees the international children’s festival - Au Bonheur des Mômes - in Le Grand Bornand, a week of magic shows, circus acts, theatre, games and workshops, with a grand firework finale. It’s always hugely popular, so make sure you book early to guarantee a holiday you’ll never forget!

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Musini is a four bedroom, three bathroom property for eight guests, just a short walk from the centre of Le Grand Bornand.
It's a great location - at the end of a quiet close, with a delightful garden, terrace and balconies, but with the pistes, bus stop, shops and restaurants just a walk away. You could easily spend a great holiday here without getting the car out.
Le Grand Bornand has everything you need for your holiday, without the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts. But the local tourist office arranges a packed programme of events - pop in there to find out what's happening during your stay.
The chalet's four bedrooms are arranged over the ground and first floors, but unfortunately, access to the chalet means it's not suited to guests with limited mobility. Two of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and there's a large family bathroom which is shared by the other two rooms.
Two of the bedrooms also open on to balconies - it's great to place to enjoy the first coffee of the day!
With a practical laundry room, great storage for sports equipment and a superb location, we think Chalet Musini is a great base for a mountain holiday.

From the owner
Jean-Christophe
Hello & Welcome to Chalet Musini!
My name is Jean-Christophe and my wife is Mireille.
I am the owner of Chalet Musini since 2004. It was originally built by the DUNOYER Group located in Poisy (Greater Annecy area).
DUNOYER was established 60 years ago as a carpentry and framing company, well known to the people of Annecy. It began developing very original villas in the region and subsequently built its first chalets in the Aravis region in the 1990s.
Our property was originally commissioned in 1994 by a man from the Jura region who was living in Lyon, and was head of a clothing manufacturing company. The wooden chalet was renovated to the AXE&D standard in 2009, early 2010.
As of which we can highlight the following works such as: scraping, fully equipped open kitchen, library, stairs, full access to the outdoor area, low voltage electricity, new flooring in the bedrooms, 80x80 tiles on the ground floor, large bathroom, and interior decoration.
The breath-taking view on the Aravis mountains, the location, the vicinity of the village only 200m away. Not forgetting the southern exposure and the large windows of nearly 8m² allowing the natural light to break through the entire chalet from dusk to sunset in the summer.
The ski lifts just 1000m away and the wooded land that covers more than 1000m², were ones of the many reasons that seduced me in Chalet Musini.
We wish you a very pleasant stay at Chalet Musini!
Jean-Christophe & Mireille.

Guest reviews
“Excellent stay”
Excellent stay, the chalet is magnificent (the description, photos and general promise are respected). We highly recommend it for a family stay, in winter as well as in spring/summer.
“Family-friendly chalet in great location”
Great location for this family-friendly chalet. Some small details to review that I mentioned to the manager at the end of the stay, but overall very satisfying.
“We had a wonderful family Christmas at Chalet Musini”
The chalet was very warm, very clean, and well-equipped. The views were superb. It was very well located, and the village was lively with great restaurants, coffee shops, and gift shops. Mandy, the manager, was a wonderful host: not only did she drop us off to do our shopping, but she also collected us and dropped us home!
