About Chalet La Pernat - Sabot de Venus
If you are used to the anonymity of the apartment blocks and hotels of larger resorts, you'll be blown away by the character and charm of the newly re-styled Pernat Sabot de Venus.
With fabulous mountain views and 3.5km from the picturesque village of La Clusaz, this stylish duplex is one of four apartments in an old farmhouse which has been imaginatively converted, re-using original materials and features to stunning effect.
No detail has been overlooked in this well-designed accommodation, and the helpful management team can arrange cleaning, catering and other activities, making sure your holiday is one you remember for all the right reasons.

A lot of care and imagination has gone into making Sabot de Venus the perfect base for a holiday in La Clusaz.
The unusual two-storey apartment has been totally redecorated and updated. Neutral tones combine with leather and faux fur to make this the perfect place to relax at the end of a strenuous day in the mountains.
The apartment sleeps eight people in three main bedrooms, one of which is en suite and has a separate twin-bedded mezzanine room which children will adore. Quality bed linen has been chosen to make sure you get a great night's sleep.
The newly-refitted open-plan kitchen and dining area is big enough for everyone to eat together, before retiring to the comfy sofas around the fire (ethanol fireplace). If you're still aching after the day's exertions, soak away any pains in the huge circular bath - fluffy towels are provided.
The star of the apartment however, is the huge south-facing terrace, which is fully enclosed and furnished and has fabulous views over the mountains. It's a great place to watch the sun go down on another perfect day.

Keen skiers and boarders need waste no time getting to the slopes from this La Clusaz apartment - the ski lift is just 50m from your door!
From here you have the fabulous ski fields of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand at your disposal - more than 200km of pistes. Floodlights mean you can ski into the night, and the weekly torchlit descent into La Clusaz is unforgettable!
A wide selection of trails means cross-country skiers will be spoilt for choice, while non-skiers can try the local ice rink, swimming pool and sledging run, or strap on some snowshoes and take to the mountain paths.
With all this on your doorstep there's no need to venture further, but if you want to, Chamonix is within easy reach for a day out.
In the summer, Sabot de Venus is the perfect base for an action-packed holiday.
Hike into the Col des Aravis, or let the ski lift ferry you and your bike into the mountains, so you can come back down at your own pace. Other local activities include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding - there is always something new to try in La Clusaz.

“Smart, shiny and fresh”
The Sabot de Venus apartment has been a very popular apartment on the OVO Network for several years, because of the design, the comfort, and the great location 50m from the chair lift at Gotty, La Clusaz.
Following a complete refit the apartment is looking smart, shiny and fresh. Two of the bedrooms have been extended, a new kitchen has been installed along with a new dining area and lounge. There is an ethanol fireplace for ambience, a safe approach to having a fireplace in an old farm with four apartments.
The large outdoor terrace has stunning views across to Etale, outdoor dining is always possible.
The apartment will suit a large family or a couple of families, or a group of friends keen to be on the hill from first lifts, to the very end of the day.
The location of this 4 bedroom 3 bathroom apartment 3.5 km from La Clusaz means that a car is essential out of season. However, there are frequent ski buses throughout the winter season, and if you bring your car there is dedicated parking. In the summer the access to the Via Ferrata and the Col des Aravis is quick and easy, the cycling challenging.

A charming apartment where modern materials and appliances sit happily with the traditional Savoyard style
Now converted into four magnificent apartments, Chalet de la Pernat, which was built in 1828, was the family home of the former owner, Sébastien Masson.
This large farmhouse was a winter home - from October to May the former owner lived and worked here, and it was where his parents looked after the cows and made cheese.
When they stopped farming in 1989, they wanted to give the house another role which preserved all the family values and authenticity of the home. By turning it into holiday apartments, they wanted to offer their guests a warm welcome, somewhere where families could enjoy each other's company all year round.
With the help of several local craftsmen, they have created four charming apartments in traditional Savoyard style, where modern materials and appliances sit happily with the original wood. Careful renovation and quality workmanship meant they were able to retain many of the original features, for example the wooden interior walls, and the manger under the covered terrace in Sabot de Venus apartment. And the bunk bed in Gentiane is made with wood from the same manger!
In one apartment you can take a bath in what was once the cheese cellar, and in another you can spend your holiday in the old feed barn!
Enjoy a hike in the Col des Aravis, from where you can get a great view of Mont Blanc. There is so much to do in this area all year round - you'll never get bored in La Clusaz!
Since we opened the chalet to visitors, they have told us how much they appreciate the high quality of the apartments and the services we offer, as well as their character and user-friendliness. Why La Clusaz?
Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit. Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.
We hired the chalet now for the third year. Slight problem with the Wifi this time, but still an original rental Original with parking place and easy access. We enjoy the traditional feel of this nice village.

“Great layout and finishes”
The garage and mud room are great additions to this rental. The large terrace, the nice bathrooms, the pretty view... are all very enjoyable. The location is remote from the village but not too far. You can almost ski in and out with proper snow.

“Would definitely return”
We stayed for a week in this gorgeous lodge. The bedroom space is ample as is the storage. All the facilities are really good quality and nothing is missed. The views are stunning and the terrace lovely. The location is great for daytime hikes but not ideal for accessing the town at night (unless you have car and are happy to drive). That said there was a shuttle for use.

“Quiet with spectacular views”
The chalet, the village and the surrounding area were a hit with the whole family, young and old. La Clusaz is a beautiful village – traditional and great for a family. The staffs of shops and restaurants were welcoming and friendly. The scenery is magnificent and there’s plenty to do for all ages. There are plenty of walks and hikes nearby. We particularly loved the terrace, the location of the chalet, the décor, the convenient two-storey layout and the high level of equipment. Next time, we’ll come for the snow!

“Still amazing, year after year...”
In 2013 it was our 4th time in this chalet and 2nd time in this apartment. Like every year everything was just perfect. The apartment is so beautiful and practical (the bathrooms are exceptional). The staff takes great care of the place, and everybody is so efficient and available: a real treat! The location is also perfect as the ski slope called "La Combe des Juments" is only a 3min walk away. Walking to La Clusaz takes 40 min along lovely roads, and alternatively the shuttle stops 3 min away from the chalet. This property is of such a great standard for its price! It's only reluctantly that we post this comment because we would prefer to keep the place for ourselves!!!!

“A perfect place to relax”
We were very impressed with the chalet, very comfortable and well equipped. The amazing bathroom and garage parking for the car are definite plus! The sun deck is perfect for the summer alpine sun and the views across the valley are beautiful. We enjoyed swimming in lake Annecy, La Clusaz' swimming pool, the fun luge, and VTT trails. A perfect place for a relaxing holiday.
