About Chalet Chenavray ...
Chalet Chenavray is a charming traditional-style chalet with all the 4-star modern conveniences you need to make your Alpine holiday perfect.
Set over three floors, the accommodation is arranged so that the ground floor is a self-contained apartment, ideal for a couple who are looking for a little bit of privacy.
Spacious balconies, a deck and a terrace mean everyone can find their own place in the sun, and there’s covered parking for two cars, so even in the winter your car is snow-free and ready to go.
This delightful chalet is just five minutes by car from Manigod village, where you can pick up fresh bread from the boulangerie or enjoy a locally-sourced meal at Val Sulens restaurant, which also does takeaway food.
The property ...
A lot of care has gone into furnishing Chalet Chenavray so that 10 adults can enjoy each other’s company without falling over each other.
The ground floor studio has an open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area, as well as a shower room and a bedroom.
On the first floor, you'll find the main living area, with a cosy L-shaped sofa in front of the fireplace and access to the terrace, a dining area and fully-equipped kitchen. There's also a double bedroom on this floor, a shower room and the sauna. The laundry can be reached through the garage.
On the top floor, the master suite has an en suite shower room, a dressing room and access to the balcony - it's the perfect spot for that first cup of tea in the morning, or to soak up the last of the sun as it sinks down behind the mountains. There is another double bedroom and a twin room on this floor, which share a bathroom.
After an energetic day skiing or walking in the mountains, it’s great to come home to the log fire, or perhaps ease those aching limbs in the sauna before sharing your memories of the day over a fondue and a glass of wine.
About the area ...
With the ski bus stopping 250m from your door, and the nearest lifts just 5km away at the Croix Fry sector of the La Clusaz pistes (altitude 1500m), you’ll waste no time getting to the pistes.
A single Aravis ski pass gives you access to the 95 lifts and 220km of runs which link La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, and there are plenty of mountain restaurants where you can meet up with friends for lunch.
The nearby Beauregard plateau is a great choice for cross-country skiing and snow-shoe walking. Non-skiers can go ice-skating or swimming in La Clusaz, where the heated indoor and outdoor pools are open all year round - there’s nothing better than floating in the steaming outdoor pool while the snow-covered mountains tower above you!
In the summer, walking in the mountains is a pleasure, and all the hard work is done for you if you take the cable car to the top and come down at your own pace!
The Gliéres plateau, scene of the Resistance’s campaign in World War II, is a great place for a picnic.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, mountain-biking or white-water rafting - just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod. Via ferrata is a great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains on iron walkways, secured to a harness.
After a strenuous day, you’ll be glad to get back to your chalet for a barbecue on the sunny terrace.
The medieval lakeside town of Annecy is just 30 minutes away by car and is a great place for a day out, whatever the season, with its unique mix of restaurants, shops and museums. In the summer it's a great place for water sports, or hire a boat and explore some of the quiet lakeside beaches.
Whatever you do, you can be sure of a holiday you'll never forget.
If you think Chalet Chenavray is the perfect place for your next Alpine holiday, check our calendar to see if your dates are free - if they are, we can hold them for 24 hours while you make your plans. But don't hang around - Chalet Chenavray is always in big demand.

The OVO Network Review
“...between Manigod village and the ski fields at La Croix Fry, gateway to the Aravis ski area.”
The south facing Chalet Chenavray is a 5 bedroom 4 bathroom chalet for 10 people, between Manigod village and the ski fields at La Croix Fry, gateway to the Aravis ski area which includes Manigod, La Clusaz and Grand Bornand.
The chalet sits above the main road and like most other properties in Manigod, Chalet Chenavray enjoys spectacular views. The two terraces and the balconies are large, with plenty of room for outdoor dining.
The layout of this popular chalet lends itself to groups that includes young children or perhaps grandparents who love being with their family but also enjoy their own private space. There is a self contained studio on the ground floor without internal access to the rest of the property. The studio has its own kitchen, lounge and dining areas as well as a double bedroom and shower room. There is a further double bedroom and bathroom on the main communal floor along with the larger main lounge with wood burner, dining area and kitchen, two more bedrooms share one bathroom (with sauna) on the top floor, as well as the fifth bedroom which has an ensuite shower room. You get a lot for your money! Pets are welcome too!
The drive, although short, is steep so you may need to park off the road and walk up in the winter, please check the exterior photos to see what we mean.

From the Owner
We have the best of both worlds, winter wonderland and summer pastimes in a chalet which has all the modern comforts...
“We first visited the Haute Savoie area with our children about 25 years ago. At that time we used to tour with our caravan, accompanied by friends and their children in their caravans.
On many occasions we ended up staying close to the Manigod area for our main holiday. In fact my son and his friend telephoned for their GCE results from the lakeside at Menthon and we celebrated with friends and children by a dinner on the evening cruise down the lake, one of life’s unforgettable memories.
Our friends bought a house here and we subsequently stayed with them, always longing for our own chalet. Then one Christmas we found one in our price range and subsequently refurbished both outside and inside to as you see the chalet today.
We have tried to incorporate modern bathrooms but retain some of the old world charm. We have wonderful unsurpassed views of the Manigod valley of which we never tire, both during the winter and summer we can spend hours just looking at “our garden”. Top of our list are the magnificent colours of the autumn, and seeing the cows and goats being brought down to their winter pastures from the high plateau.
We feel our chalet is a home from home. Our family enjoy the fun of sking, raquettes, tobogganing, ice skating which the winter affords and the sauna is in high demand for those aching limbs after the first ski downhills.
The family learnt to ski here at Croix Fry which is about 6 mins away from the chalet and now enjoy the plethora of runs available which cater for all abilities. In fact our granddaughter (4) is just starting to learn to ski.
My husband loves sitting on the balcony on a clear evening and watches the stars (wrapped up warm of course) – you seem to feel as one with nature. In the summer again we love sitting on the veranda and view watch. We plant the geraniums and lovingly tend them and enoy them cascading over the balcony.
The family also visit in the summer and love the stunning walks to the high mountains and contrastingly the activities of the lake at Menthon and Tailloires. Cycle rides around the lake are a new venture which we have enjoyed.
We all love our visits to Annecy and we never tire of walking around the old town, stopping for a coffee, or perhaps an ice cream, we are spoilt for choice for restaurants but love the shellfish restaurant as you enter the old town. My wife loves the shops and Saturday market in Thones, if she buys any more knick knacks! Our favourite treat is a coffee and cake in the Patisserie in the arcades in Thones.
Another favourite visit of ours is to the Resistance museum just outside Thones. We love going to the Plateau de Glieres and walking around the historic pathway, you realise what brave men and women these people where. We usually take a picnic and spend the day there, although there are restaurants who do a good plat du jour on the plateau.
To sum up we just relax when we are here, it is a cliché but we have the best of both worlds, winter wonderland and summer pastimes in a chalet which has all the modern comforts in a rural community. ”

Why La Clusaz?
Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit. Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.
“We enjoyed our stay as always. ”
We loved the comfortable seating area, well appointed bedrooms. We know the area well and love the peace and tranquility

“We fell in love!”
We adored our stay in Chalet Chenavray and we felt at home as soon as we opened the door! We loved the decor too. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Steve met us to give us the key. There were small problems with the sauna and the television, but apart from that, we loved the skiing, the sledging and snow-shoeing on the Col de la Croix Fry. Thank you for this great family holiday.

“To be repeated!”
We had a lovely family holiday in this well-equipped chalet, which is very clean, sunny and has a great view of the snow-topped mountains. The welcome was lovely and the location, away from other chalets, is perfect and the little ski station of Manigod is very friendly and not too noisy. Two things: perhaps change the bedlinen in the first bedroom at the top, and show the number of the chalet at the bottom of the lane to make it easier to find for new arrivals.
Veronique B. - 11/02/2017
“Roll on next year!”
A dream holiday in your magnificent chalet which was very well managed. Our only problem was that in heavy snow vehicles we needed snow chains to get to the chalet. We had a great welcome from Steve. The area and the view from the chalet are splendid.

“A magical start to Christmas for us and our children.”
The chalet was beautifully decorated for the season! It's been everything we had hoped for and more! We look forward to being able to return sometime in the future.
Anne-Marie S. - 17/12/2016
“A successful holiday”
A superb chalet which had everything we needed (perhaps an outside light to make the most of the long summer evenings?).The view from the balcony is magnificent and the area is beautiful. The welcome was warm. Being close to the road wasn't a problem as we were out most of the day and the evenings were quiet. A car is absolutely vital, but we were warned of that. We highly recommend it.
Laurence N. - 20/08/2016
“We're familiar with the place...”
As usual, and after many holidays in your chalet, we're always very happy to get some fresh air and lots of relaxing time in your property.
Yves C. - 16/07/2016
“Good value for money”
We booked the house for one week in summer with four adults and six children. The area is really beautiful in summer and there is lots to do for children. The house is relatively close to the road to La Clusaz but you have stunning views from the two terraces. We used the four bedroom as well as the independant apartment and thought it was no problem that they are not connected. The house was very well presented and clean and although the kitchen is small it was extremly well equipped. The whole house is well equipped. The bedrooms are cosy with good mattresses. The dining table is big enough for ten. I think the living area would be a bit of a squeeze with ten people in winter, but then you would have a big room downstairs as well. It is very good value for money in summer and we would recommened the chalet.

“A fantastic week”
We just left Chalet Chenavray, where our group of 10 people and 1 baby spent the week. We were all very sad to live the magnificent Manigod Valley where we enjoyed so many varied activities. The chalet has allowed us to spend this time in the best possible conditions. It's very well equipped, very clean on arrival, and we were welcome by Steve the manager, always there when needed. This was a fantastic, with sun shining over gorgeous landscapes! We will certainly be back. Thanks.
Frédéric B. - 25/06/2016
“Beautiful view, really well equipped chalet”
Beautiful place, exactly or even better than what was advertised. Only thing was not enough ski buses to the resort, but as the road is so beautiful and easy, it wasn't much of a problem.
Alexandre B. - 12/03/2016
“A great stay with lots of snow!”
This chalet was very nice and clean. Thanks.
Chrystelle D. - 30/01/2016
“There was nothing we needed, they had thought of everything.”
A very comfortable chalet - the bathrooms are lovely, so are the bedrooms and the fireplace in the living room is very cosy. There was nothing we needed, they had thought of everything. The sauna and the separate apartment are a bonus. The chalet is well located for walks in the area, around the village, the Col de la Croix Fry and La Clusaz.
Corinne R. - 23/01/2016
“We'll be back!”
A really beautiful chalet - welcoming, spacious and well equipped. In short, it was perfect for our family. Its setting overlooking some dream scenery, set back from the road and the stream of tourists is a real asset in our opinion. It was perfectly safe for our two dogs. Thank you for accepting them. The welcome and the availability of the manager all added to our complete satisfaction.

“A magical place”
Chalet Chenavray has been a magical place for a family reunion with family travelling from Australia, UK and Switzerland. It's warm, cosy, comfortable, well equipped and peaceful. We've had a very enjoyable week.

“A comfortable and well-decorated chalet. ”
The countryside is superb and the ski station of La Clusaz really lovely.
Olivier T. - 21/02/2015
“We had everything we needed”
Very pretty chalet, fantastic view over the mountains, very quiet location. Manigod ski resort is family friendly (10 min away from the chalet, so a car is necessary) and La Clusaz is not far at all too.
Edith P. - 07/02/2015
“Extreme cocooning in an ideal location”
The chalet might seem a bit far away from the piste to some people, but it's perfect to spend a fabulous stay in the mountain.
Raymond S. - 10/01/2015
We love d the comfort, the terrace, and the bathrooms. There are plenty of walking and cycle trails from the chalet and it was close to Annecy.
Nadine R. - 16/08/2014
A chalet that’s always a pleasure! We have been coming here for three years and we always enjoy it. Well equipped, especially since a second fridge was installed; well located with a great view of the mountains, close to lots of sporting activities and tourist attractions. We look forward to our weekend at Chalet Chenavray every year, because for us it means a great time with the family.
Céline N. - 09/06/2014
“Late in the season but still managed to ski!”
We had a great time and particularly enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sun go down. It was late in the season but we still managed to do plenty of skiing with both novices and more experienced skiers getting on well. After several years skiing in the area we went to Annecy when it was not raining! It is beautiful in the sunshine and some of the hardier members of the party went swimming in the lake.
Valerie H. - 05/04/2014
“Good location and unbeatable view”
The property had everything required to spend a nice time in the mountains. Good location, well organised. Perfect view.
Cédric G. - 22/02/2014
“We recommend it and will be back!”
We spent a great week in this much loved chalet that is well appointed and taken care of.

“Chalet Chenavray is a charming and comfortable rental”
It's very close to the ski resorts and its view over the valley is breathtaking. The ideal place for our holidays!

“Great chalet, great stay”
We felt so welcome in the chalet and the village itself. We loved it there: spectacular view, great comfort, Annecy lake neaby, lovely locals... We'll be back.
Antoine P. - 13/07/2013
The chalet was exactly as we expected. Everything is set up so that people really feel at home. Unforgettable holidays, marvelous landscapes. We enjoyed the free skibus at the bottom at the chalet, and the welcoming service of the managers was perfect! Thanks for everything!
Anne C. - 02/02/2013
“Perfect holiday rental!”
Three years ago we fell in love with this chalet and since then we keep coming back several times a year with our children and grand children. This is the perfect holiday rental, with a really warm and cosy atmosphere, so much that it has become our "home away from home"! Manigod valley is a stunning place to be, with all these authentic chalets and snowy mountains... Chalet Chenavray's view are simply breathtaking! We really appreciate the fact that there is a separate apartment so that we can spend time together as well as quiet moments. The fireplace creates a great atmosphere at night and the garden is perfect for snowmen and snow fights! Real holidays that helped us to unplug from our daily routine.
Sauret F. - 12/01/2013
