About Chalet Batieu ...
This comfortable six-bedroom chalet is the perfect base for two or more families, with a layout that allows everyone to have their own privacy when required.
Chalet Batieu is in an enviable position too, with fabulous mountain views and a green piste at the bottom of the garden which will take you straight into La Clusaz!
Despite being so close to the Alpine action, you'll enjoy a peaceful setting in the Gotty area of La Clusaz, 2.2 Km away from the centre of the village. In La Clusaz you'll find a good range of shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife, as well as markets where you can pick up delicious local produce.
The property ...
This cosy chalet comfortably sleeps 14 people (max 13 adults) in six bedrooms with three bathrooms. The accommodation is set over four floors, with the bedrooms arranged in groups of two which share a bathroom.
Enter the chalet on the ground floor, where you'll find the large open-plan living area. Comfortable sofas are grouped around the fire for cosy evenings in, and there's a large dining table where you can all get together for dinner. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to cook up a banquet, and there's a separate TV room. There's also a toilet on this floor.
Doors open on to the sunny L-shaped terraced, where you'll find a barbecue and dining table for meals with a stunning view, or perhaps just an apero as the sun sets over the mountains. There's another terrace on the lower ground floor, with the hot tub and a summer kitchen, and the same stunning views.
The lower ground floor is also home to a second kitchen and living room, and a fantastic home cinema room, with table football and a retro games console with access to 150 games! The two bedrooms down here are a double room with doors on to the terrace and a twin room, which share a bath and shower room. There's also a usefull laundry room.
There are two more double bedrooms and a bath/shower room on the mezzanine floor. The master bedroom and a family room with double bed and bunk beds share a bath/shower room on the top floor.
There is parking space for three cars as well as a garage and a ski room.
About the area ...
There's a great choice of winter sports right on your doorstep at Chalet Batieu - a green piste runs from the bottom of the garden right into La Clusaz, the telecabine and ski school. In fact, you're so close to the piste, there's a snow cannon in the garden!
There are nursery slopes and gentle blues on Beauregard and more experienced skiers and boarders will find plenty of challenge at La Balme. There's also a good choice of cross-country trails, particularly on the Beauregard plateau, and you can pick up a map from the tourist office in La Clusaz.
Non-skiers can get their skates on at the ice rink in La Clusaz, go to the cinema, or try sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you.
Just 35 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating, golf and watersports in the cleanest lake in Europe. At the end of the day, relax over a meal in a local restaurant, or perhaps a barbecue and a glass of wine on the terrace of your chalet as the sun sinks behind the peaks.
In the summer, there's no time to be bored at Chalet Batieu.
When the snow melts, the pistes are transformed into lush pastures criss-crossed by hiking and biking trails. Take a hike into the Col des Aravis, or to the base of the via ferrata from the front door, and you may spot chamois or marmottes.
Enjoy the magnificent views across to the Mont Blanc chain from various points along the Col. If you don't fancy the long climb, some parts of the ski lift system open on particular days across the summer to ferry you and your bike into the mountains of La Clusaz or Merdassier, then you can descend at your own pace. Please check with the Tourist Office for up to date info on which lifts are open and when.
For a really special day, you can hire donkeys from a farm on the Col des Aravis for a day's trekking, or try horse-riding, climbing, and paragliding.
If you think Chalet Batieu is just right for your next holiday in the Alps, why not check your dates against our availability calendar? If you need a little time to make up your mind, we can hold your dates for 24 hours. But don't leave it too long - with such a great location, Chalet Batieu is sure to be very popular with OVO Network guests

The OVO Network Review
“The perfect place to stay if you like stunning views, and being able to ski from and virtually back to the door!”
Chalet Batieu is a 6 bedroom 3 bathroom chalet for 14 spread over 3 floors (2 with mezzanines) and xxx m2 of floor space. With two bedrooms and a bathroom on each of the three bedroom floors, the property has been set up with large families or several families in mind.
The owners have three young children themselves, and often holiday at the chalet with their extended family and friends. They have set the property up so that guests can spread out and be entertained in their own space, then get together to eat and play!
Unusually there are four lounge spaces at Chalet Batieu; the lounge on the main communal floor surrounds the open fireplace, there is also a TV lounge on this floor. On the lower ground floor there is another lounge, with a smaller second kitchen and dining space - perfect for use as a play space if there are lots of children in your group, or a place where the Grandparents can enjoy some peace and quiet! Then finally the fourth lounge space, also on the lower ground floor, houses the home cinema and games room.
The ski room is a real plus - as it keeps wet kit for 14 out of the chalet, leaving indoors clutter-free! In the morning everything will be dry, warm, and ready to go, so that all the fun can begin all over again! This space will also be invaluable for storing walking boots, climbing helmets and harnesses, bikes etc in the summertime.
Access to the partially sheltered exterior jacuzzi is from the terrace off the main communal floor, either via the new exterior stairs, or via the lower ground floor. From left to right the panoramic views look down the valley towards La Clusaz, then sweep across the Gotty towards the Col des Aravis, ending with the magnificent Etale slopes. Beautiful during the day, the view is so pretty at night time, with the backdrop of the stars! Summer or winter alike, no matter what the weather, the views from Chalet Batieu are vast and mesmerising.
Skiers can ski from the chalet straight onto L’Envers, the green run between Etale and the bowl by the telecabins and ice rink area at the bottom of La Clusaz. The garden is fairly flat around the chalet and there is a lovely terrace running the length of the lower ground floor, as well as a sheltered dining terrace and balcony off the main floor. The garden then gently slopes down to L’Envers green run, meaning beginners may after a few initial lessons, be able to ski to ski school lessons in La Clusaz and ski back home via Beauregard by the end of a week long holiday! What a huge sense of achievement for those at the beginning of their skiing or snowboarding adventures! (Snow permitting of course - this liaison run is very important so the ressort work hard to keep it open as long as possible every winter). There is even a snow cannon in the garden, which also doubles up as a great sledge run / site for snowmen. Non skiers can enjoy watching the ski traffic slide by from the balcony and terraces!
There is parking for 3 cars outside the chalet and a single garage. If guests want to head into La Clusaz, they can take the lower road to easily access the underground parking below the cinema. Or the ski bus stop is about 250 m away from the chalet.
Summer and winter alike there is plenty going on not far from the chalet, but the chalet itself is in a quieter part of the resort. We hope you enjoy it as much as we suspect you will!

Come and make your own very special memories in the enchanting atmosphere at Chalet Batieu
In 2014 we purchased Chalet Batieu from very dear friends. Alex and I have always loved skiing, we now have three children who share our passion for skiing in the winter, as well as summer adventures! Watching the children head off with their grandparents, to ski down the garden onto the green run between Etale and La Clusaz village, then along into the village to meet their instructors for their lessons, is a wonderful experience. The garden also makes a faulous toboggan run, which the children love!
We have renovated and modernised Chalet Batieu to create a fun, warm and comfortable holiday home we can enjoy together with our family and friends.
We would like to welcome you to our home, and hope that you too will have fantastic holiday experiences here. Come and make your own very special memories in the enchanting atmosphere that Chalet Batieu and the gorgeous village of La Clusaz have to offer!
