LoftYaute ...
This unique loft-style apartment for four in Sevrier is just 200m from the shores of the crystal-clear Lake Annecy, where you can swim, sail, paddle board or just stretch out on the sandy beach.
Beautifully designed over three levels, it's a stylish base for two couples or a family wanting to explore the lake and mountains.
IMPORTANT : this rental isn't fit for elderly guests and people with reduced mobility (several flights of stairs).
If you want to explore a little further, there's a cycle path in front of the apartment, which will take you around the lake, or straight into the the heart of the medieval town of Annecy, where you can explore canal-side restaurants, antique markets and shops. There's a packed programme of entertainment in the town – whatever time of year you visit, there's something going on.
There are several restaurants in Sevrier itself, some of which have lakeside terraces where you can while away a sunny afternoon. And if you visit in the winter, you're just 35 minutes from the ski resort of Semnoz and less than an hour from the Aravis ski resorts of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod.
About the property ...
This unusual contemporary apartment in the village of Sevrier is cleverly arranged over three levels. There's room for four guests, in two compact double bedrooms, each with their own en suite shower room or bathroom, making it perfect for two couples.
The entrance hall on the first floor leads to a double bedroom, which is built on a mezzanine floor over the walk-in wardrobe. Despite its compact size, this bedroom has an en suite shower room, a wall-mounted TV and a window looking out on to the staircase and indirectly on the main living area.
The open plan living area is on the second floor, where you'll also find a separate toilet and boiler room. Three skylights flood the living area with light, and the stylish kitchen area has everything you need to cook for a hungry group. There's also a dining table where you can all eat together. At the other end of the living area, a cosy L-shaped sofa is the perfect place to get together and watch a film on the large television, or to make plans for your next day in the Annecy area.
A staircase from the living area leads via an overhead walkway to the second double bedroom, which is slightly larger and has an en suite bathroom.
There is plenty of room to park 2 cars outside LoftYaute.
The apartment is built above another holiday property, Maison Keryaute, which sleeps six, and the two properties can be booked together to accommodate groups of up to 10.
About the area ...
Water sports, lakeside beaches, mountain adventure and a medieval city are all waiting for you when you stay at LoftYaute.
it's just 200m to the beach at Sevrier, where you can swim, paddle board, or just stretch out on the sand and enjoy the mountain views. There are also canoeing, sailing and tennis clubs nearby.
The Voie Verte cycle path runs between the house and the lake, making it easy to get into Annecy without the car. If you feel up to it, you can cycle (or run!) all the way around the lake (44km), but at points the path joins the main road which can get busy, especially during the summer. There are also plenty of steeper cycle routes that take you into the mountains, such as the Col de Leschaux or Le Semnoz, which has featured in the Tour de France. The climb may be steep, but the stunning views are a great reward!
If you'd prefer to explore the lake from the water, you can join a two-hour hop-on, hop-off cruise which visits the villages around the lake - Sevrier has its own stop - or hire your own boat and take your time, perhaps stopping at a lakeside restaurant for a meal. It really is the most relaxing way to spend a day.
Other activities available nearby include golf, paragliding, via ferrata, wakeboarding, swimming and fishing - there's no time to get bored!
If you are staying at LoftYaute in the winter, you can ski at the small resort of Semnoz (20km), where you can buy a lift pass by the hour. The resort of La Sambuy, near Seythenex, south of Lake Annecy, is less than an hour away (30km) and has 10 pistes ranging from green to black. The Aravis stations of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod are all less than 40km away, and offer 220km of superb skiing.
The medieval town of Annecy has a wide selection of restaurants, from family spots to fine dining. On a sunny day, choose one of the canalside restaurants and watch the world go by. There are also some delightful independent shops, three weekly produce markets, and a regular antiques market.
There's always something going on in Annecy: check out our OVO Network destination guide for details.

The OVO Network Review
“Loft-style living near lake and mountains”
LoftYaute is a stylish split level apartment for four people in Sevrier, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Set in the village of Sevrier, just 200m from Lake Annecy, we think its a great base for two couples or small family who want to be close to all the entertainment in Annecy but also want easy access to the lake and mountains.
Cleverly designed by the owners to sit neatly in the loft area of this former hotel, the main living area has a cosy seating area with a television, a fully-equipped kitchen and a dining area. Although there is no outside view, skylights mean this apartment is flooded with natural light.
A great use of colour, art and lighting gives this apartment a warm and cosy feel.
The two compact bedrooms have been cleverly added on mezzanine floors, and each has a bathroom or a shower room, as well as good storage space.
There's a good choice of restaurants within walking distance, and small supermarket less than 1km away - larger shops are just a little further away.
There's plenty of private parking space for 2 cars right outside the property - a real bonus in the Annecy area. LoftYaute is set on the main road to Annecy, but great soundproofing means any road noise is reduced.

From the owner
LoftYaute: the antithesis of "déjà-vu"
LoftYaute is not the result of chance or improvisation: a feeling of "uniqueness" is guaranteed!
There are several hidden meanings in the LoftYaute name:
- First of all, the word Loft is used because the challenge of this renovation was to create a flat in the technical premises of a former hotel. We started from scratch to create an open space with clear, bright spaces.
- Secondly, the word lofty, which reflects the challenge and the end, in creating this unique and original property.
- Then the term Ty, which means "house" in Brittany, in a nod to our native region, and to this century-old building with its rustic façade.
- And finally the term Yaute, which in the local dialect means "the Haute-Savoie", and is a nod to the sister property "Maison Keryaute" located just below.
Seduced by abstract art and cubism, we designed the architecture and decoration of the Loft by combining the main characteristics of these movements: avoiding imitating reality for the former and representing volumes for the latter. The result is therefore unusual and unconventional, the antithesis of "déjà-vu".
