Situated high above the town, the Ch\u00e2teau <\/strong><\/a>d\u2019Annecy<\/strong><\/a> was formerly home to the Counts of Geneva. Less than 30 minutes from Annecy, the Semnoz mountain resort boasts an 850-metre summer sledging run with bends, tunnels and crossings through the pine trees. It\u2019s a great way to enjoy the thrills of sledging, even in the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exciting activity, which is open to accompanied children aged 3 and over, and to unaccompanied children over 1m25, is open all summer until October. The price in 2025 is \u20ac4 for one descent, and multi-activity cards are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Paccard Foundry in Sevrier<\/strong>, just 10 minutes from Annecy, has been making church bells and carillons since 1796.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a guided tour of the Paccard museum<\/strong><\/a>, the foundry and the bell tower to discover the secrets of bell making, including the \u201ccasting of the bells\u201d, an impressive display of molten metal held every Thursday, subject to booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prices range from \u20ac9.50 for a self-guided tour to \u20ac14 for a guided tour including the casting. Children under 10 go free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good to know:<\/strong> <\/strong>Due to high temperatures, bell casting does not take place in August. It is replaced by a tour of the foundry workshops.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discover the Gorges du Fier<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Enjoy a spectacular walk on a footbridge suspended high above the water when you visit the Gorges du Fier<\/strong><\/a> near Lovagny<\/strong>, around 12km from Annecy. This magnificent landscape includes the \u201csea of rocks\u201d, the \u201ccurious glade\u201d and the \u201cislet of legends\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The site is open from 15 March to 15 October, with extended opening times in summer. The tour lasts about an hour and is open to children aged 7 and over. In 2025, prices are \u20ac6 per adult and \u20ac3 for children aged 7 to 15, with free admission for younger children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
