First attempted by \u201cHorace Benedict de Saussure\u201d in 1767, the trail was walked by\u00a0Roman soldiers and Celtic tribes who used the \u201cCol Du Bonhomme\u201d as a trade route, as well as shepherds who would move their herds between the valleys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
