Places to stop around Lake Annecy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are many great spots around Lake Annecy. One great way to take a break while taking in the breathtaking scenery is by picnicking on one of the many Annecy beaches<\/a><\/strong> at the side of the lake. These are perfect stops to cool off under the mountaintops!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will also cycle through several towns around the lake. Talloires is one of the larger ones, with some elegant restaurants overlooking the clear waters; you can also head down to the lakefront, which has several small beaches with lovely views of the Ch\u00e2teau Duingt on the other side of the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other notable stops include Duingt\u2019s beautiful lakeside ch\u00e2teau, the Oasis<\/strong><\/a> in S\u00e9vrier, as well as some excursions away from the lake such as the Ermitage de St-Germain, a 19th-century chapel and pilgrimage site overlooking Talloires. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re feeling more ambitious, head up to the Col de la Forclaz or even the Montagne de Semnoz for some wonderful views of the lake and its\u2019 surrounding mountains! (Note that these routes are particularly steep and may be better suited to more experienced cyclists).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
