A trip to Annecy would not be complete without a staple Tartiflette! Made with local Reblochon cheese, potatoes, lardons, and onions \u2013 this hearty dish is guaranteed to satisfy your cheese craving! You\u2019ll find Tartiflette on the menu at any Savoyarde restaurant in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raclette<\/strong> and Fondue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Raclette and fondue are famous favourites in many ski resorts across the French Alps, and you\u2019ll easily find them in many eateries in Annecy. There\u2019s usually a two-person minimum with Raclette or Fondue and these great sharing meals are perfect if you\u2019re looking for a major cheese fix on your trip!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ice Cream<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Come rain or shine, you can\u2019t leave Annecy without trying at least one of the amazing ice cream parlours! There are plenty of choices when it comes to ice cream shops in the Old Town, but some do trump the rest! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The obvious choice is the Glacier des Alpes<\/strong><\/a>, which attracts hundreds of tourists particularly in peak summer months, and for very good reason. However, just a minute\u2019s walk down the cobbled streets, you\u2019ll find Le Palais des Glaces<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 with slightly more authentic flavours, beautifully presented, it\u2019s definitely a must-try. If you\u2019re heading there, we\u2019d recommend the pistachio or Snickers flavour if it\u2019s on the menu that day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waffles and Cr\u00eapes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It wouldn\u2019t be a holiday in France without a Cr\u00eape! Whether your preference is sweet or savoury, there are plenty of places to stop off for a Cr\u00eape in Annecy. The Cr\u00eaperie du Thiou<\/strong><\/a> is just one example, which sits just on the corner of the Place Perri\u00e8re, with a stunning view of the Le Palais de I\u2019\u00cele<\/strong><\/a> (the old prison of Annecy). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a waffle is what you\u2019re after, we\u2019re yet to find a waffle house better than Chez Gaston<\/strong><\/a>. Specialising in both sweet and savoury waffles, with a variety of different mouth-watering toppings, it\u2019s the perfect place for a snack while shopping or exploring the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patisserie and bakeries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re sure to find top-class patisseries and bakeries anywhere in France that you visit. But, Annecy has some unbeatable spots. For cakes, bread, and sandwiches, the Boulangerie Rouge<\/strong><\/a> offers a high-quality, fresh selection daily. We\u2019d advise getting there early if you want to buy lunch, as they tend to run out of sandwiches early!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re after a more decadent experience, Roses des Neiges<\/strong><\/a> has an incredible selection of patisserie, macarons, chocolate, and hot drinks. The interior of the caf\u00e9 is just as pretty as the outside, providing some very Instagrammable opportunities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
